The heated pool, needs to be retiled, so many tiles missing, and some even floating around in the pool. The music the DJ had was too loud, it was mostly families there the days I went, they just need to keep that in mind, who is there at the moment. Many security guards, due to spring break, which is good, and staff is nice. I didn’t like we had to make a line in the front desk to get the towels, that wasted much time for us. Rooms are clean, AC worked well, beach access is nice, RRs by the beach need work, but overall, we had a good time.

No AC in the hallways only in the lobby and your rooms. There are ice machines on each floor however they do not work. The only floor that had ice was on three. If you choose the buffet breakfast, which is $13 a person the food is the same each day and the food was OK. No free coffee in the lobby for guest. You have to purchase at 3:25 a cup? The pools were not kept up. If you stay more than one day, they will come in and make your bed, but that is it. They don’t andd extra towels or extra coffee. If you used it you have to go down to the lobby. They also do not empty the trash cans. The bathroom very small. Have to stand in the tub to open the door to get out not kidding. Phone did not work in the room. Staff was nice, but had nothing to work with. Location is convenient to waterpark.

Tower B, the hallway was hot and elevator slow. The units are dated and the bathroom was tight (the door would literally rub against the toilet in order for it to close). The AC units are louder than normal. Usually there’s a humming noise, but the one in my room made cracking sounds too. We had the breakfast buffet and it wasn’t all that great. The watermelon tasted funny, so I did not eat after the first bite. The restaurant outside Tower B, is good. I had the fish tacos and they were really good. Plenty of parking and staff is nice and responsive.

Great location, parking sucks, building was 80 plus degrees inside. Coffee machines broken. Swim up bar ok but tv was never turned on. Breakfast buffet was ok. Workout center was nice. Easy beach access. Fridge did not work in the room. $5.00 bottles of water were all that were offered in the room. Looks like one and done for this place.

Driving up we felt like the place looked a bit rundown. The lobby has been updated and looks like a pricier hotel. A closer look will find that the couches in the main lobby are stained and dingy. The fancy coffee machines in the lobby were down our entire 5 day stay. The "business center" is a computer and printer on a table in the middle of the lobby. Fine if you just need to print something, but not ideal if you're looking for a quiet space to work. Staff we came across with was very friendly, but most of them spoke limited English. Our room was in Tower B which is kind of a hike with luggage. Our room smelled very musty and had a slight odor similar to urine, but things were clean. Bathroom is tiny! Heated pool is the one with the swim up bar and it's pretty small. None of the pools get deeper than 4 feet (I think 3'9" if I remember right). The restaurants on the property are kinda spendy, especially the one inside the main building. The outside of the buildings are pretty rundown with grates for AC units are literally hanging by a thread. The rooms were smelly. Cockroaches in the bathroom. Look like mold on the wall. Toilet wouldn’t shut off. No ice makers on any floors working. No directions for tv and bin phone to call to ask. Not the quality I expected from a holiday inn!!

The property itself was okay but my room had mold growing on the walls and ceiling. The room felt damp and in turn made everything in the room feel damp including our clothing. Also, one of the walls was wet to the touch. I have pictures and videos. I enjoyed the proximity to the beach. The breakfast food isn’t worth the price that they charge.

I stayed in the second floor and I soon as I stepped out of the elevator it smelled like strong sewer/dirty diaper. The room felt very humid, you can actually smell the humidity. The restroom walls were dirty, and we had no phone in the room. Over all experience was not of a Holiday Inn, very disappointing

Terrible experience! The hotel is old, rooms have lot of humidity, the A/C was leaking the whole time, bathrooms are extremely small and not safe. The fire alarm was activated by mistake, and the horrible noise scared my baby, he cried for like an hour because of this. You can hear what happens in the room next to you, our first night the TV in the room next door was on and extremely load, it was on from the moment we arrived (7pm) till 2am! We complained in the front desk and the room was empty! Someone left the tv on using a very high volume. We had to enter the room and turn off the tv, since the hotel personal couldn't do it. Cockroaches in the room and bugs in the pool, I left the pool with 5 bugs in my back. Never staying here again.

While the hotel was in a good location, it was a haul to get from the lobby to building B. That building was on the beach, but only one side faced the water, the other faced to pool. The room was updated, but the bed was waaaaaay to soft and left my back aching. We also had an issue with the grounds keeping team starting the blowers at 7am right outside our window. On a positive note the rooftop observation area is breathtaking. Overall this property had allot of potential, but just didn’t get there

The hotel is obviously old and the remodeling in our room was not done very well. The main lobby looks great so we were shocked when we walked into our room. Ocean view but no balconies. We would have left after our first night, but the restaurant is absolutely fabulous! Not one meal was disappointing. Bartender Braydon is over the top with professionalism, friendliness and makes a Mai Tai better than we had in Hawaii! Our waiter Juan was great with perfect suggestions for meals. We never ventured into town for 4 days because the service was soo over the top!

We enjoyed our stay. Check-in quick and easy. We stayed in tower near the beach. Room was clean and full stocked. But building and room need TLC as are showering age and wear and tear. Pool areas nice. Lots of seating. Swim up bar pool quite warm, but very enjoyable. Easy access to beach. Would have been nice if an on-site shuttle was available as quite a long walk to get to the main street and then still a walk to any restaurants or shopping.
We enjoyed our stay. Check-in quick and easy. We stayed in tower near the beach. Room was clean and full stocked. But building and room need TLC as are showering age and wear and tear. Pool areas nice. Lots of seating. Swim up bar pool quite warm, but very enjoyable. Easy access to beach. Would have been nice if an on-site shuttle was available as quite a long walk to get to the main street and then still a walk to any restaurants or shopping.

Tower B, the hallway was hot and elevator slow. The units are dated and the bathroom was tight (the door would literally rub against the toilet in order for it to close). The AC units are louder than normal. Usually there’s a humming noise, but the one in my room made cracking sounds too. We had the breakfast buffet and it wasn’t all that great. The watermelon tasted funny, so I did not eat after the first bite. The restaurant outside Tower B, is good. I had the fish tacos and they were really good. Plenty of parking and staff is nice and responsive.

We loved the hard flooring in the room as I much prefer hard floor over carpet. My only issue was that the room did not match the photos at all. Even though it looked like a suite, it was definitely a small standard room. Also, breakfast available means it is not a free continental breakfast. It was reasonably priced by vacation standards and tasted great but was still $13/person which we were not aware of till we got there. The beach was fantastic. Though be aware to borrow their chair and umbrella is $50/day for use. Better to bring your own or buy something cheap at a local store. The bathrooms were small and only provided two towels for 4 people. With the beach and pools you do go through them over several days but they were pretty good about giving us new ones. We had a pool view and with the music and bar crowd it was a bit loud. I suggest getting ocean view if you want something quieter.

I’m not sure if some staff is in training, however if they are, it would be great to start off with that. My daughter waited in line to check out and she was passed up. It would be great to ask who the next customer in line was so that those waiting before can be next. An employee tried to let us know that our card was not going through, we had to wait for the manager, Jose. We did ask, why can’t you just let us know what is going on? Employee said, to wait for manager to see what was going on. She then was asking people what they were there for, I asked her do you need us to move to another section, she said, that would be best. I let her know, it would be best for you to let us know as well. Manager comes, I’m about to tell him why we were told to wait for him, employee tries to come to let him know (and I said, I can tell him), she had people that were next—She’s the one who told us to wait for manager. I told him what she told us, he said, she was in training and that all was well, since we booked 3rd party there was a certain way of doing things. Jose was very nice, respectful and he took care of us right away — he did let her know to hold on while I was explaining already. The front desk crew was amazing. They were friendly and helpful every time we visited. However, the restaurant in the hotel the Azul Ocean Grill and Spirits was hands down the worst restaurant experience I've had in a very long time. We waited over 2 hours for our food, and when it came out it was cold and tasted as if it had been cooked in a microwave. Service was horrible and it seemed like the same people serving the bar were serving the diners, which meant tables were left alone with no answers for the duration. Steer clear an deat elsewhere. Otherwise, the hotel was nice.

Due to a last minute change With a condo, we were going to rent, we ended up at the holiday inn.They took great care of us.Got us a great room and made my wife's birthday one to remember. In all of our interactions the staff was completely indifferent. They could care less whether we were there or not. We booked (and paid extra on Hotels site) a king bed but when we got to our room it was two queens. Called the front desk and they said they would move us the following day. Checked with them three times the next day and it was always “we will call you when your room is ready”. Well it was never ready. The pool bar was pitiful, no fun no smiles, nothing. Room was clean and bed was comfortable albeit smaller than what we wanted. Hotel is overall old and it looks like they painted and put new carpet but that’s it. We booked two nights out of our 6 in SPI and so glad we were only there for 2. Moved next door to Margaritaville. Soooooo much better. Room is 1000times nicer, friendly staff, and close to same price. Do yourself a favor and skip the sad Holiday Inn Resort. Not with the time or money.

Our check in was at 4pm, waiting almost 1 hr before it was our turn. Maybe check in should be at 3 or have more ppl working the front for the rush. We went by at 3.45 and they made us wait. Till 4. Over all everything else was good!

The check in and check out process of this hotel is very very slow. They need to figure out a better way to get people in and out of here we stood an hour just to check in and we have been at the resort four hours prior because we came early. They should have us some kind of a system get a to where when it gets close to check in time. Families are alerted able to stairstep and check in checking out there’s still a line some hotels have automated check out where they just put the bill under the door or email it to you.

The hotel is dirty and old, I was willing to look past the outdated part of the hotel. But then roaches started to appear there fly problem, is a problem as well. Their customer service skills horrible, Jose the manager was terrible and I’m pretty sure racist. He was the rudest manager that I’ve ever encountered and was less than helpful

My experience was not a good one. The woman at the front desk was not helpful. I reserved a room with “ocean view” the room I was given was pool view. As soon as I saw this I checked out. There was no manager available and no one ever answers the phone.

The issue I had was the accessibility of our room. Had to walk thru the pool area to get to Tower B, which would have been ok, but it was rainy and cold when we were there. Also, paid extra for an ocean view and our window was so dirty you couldn't see the beach or the ocean. This place is getting run down and needs to be updated. Property had a convenient beach access. Pool was also great as it had 2 pools. Only thing I would mention is that Tower B does not have a sign showing its name. For being the first time staying in this location I was not aware of where tower B was until we were able to get directions from a friendly staff member.

The heated pool with the bar was lovely. Drinks at the bar were good and evening entertainment was fun. When we checked in we were asked for a card for payment, however the original card used to secure the room through hotels.com was actually charged which was confusing. We had requested a King room but were given a double queen and told no Kings were available, however online it looked like the hotel was still selling King rooms which was confusing. Breakfast was not explained to us and we were not given vouchers for it; we tried Breakfast on the 2nd day and it was almost an hour between getting down there and ordering our food. A buffet would be better. I asked 3 times for a hot drink but never received one. After finishing breakfast I asked if we needed to provide our room number as it was included in our rate, however I received the check and was told we ordered the wrong menu items so had to pay - this had not been explained to us, but after speaking with the front desk they took care of it. The food was OK at best.

They have a nice bar at the beach but could extend dock down to the beach a bit more. The sand is brutally hot! They also need to build nicer showers and more of them to rinse off. The wait staff in the breakfast area could also be more accommodating. You try to order from them and they act as if you are bothering them.

Nice, clean hotel with wonderful food and service on the cleanest beach. Rooms were could and clean, beds were comfy and rates were very reasonable for what we received. Food was delicious and because we were there for only 2 days we chose to eat onsite for all meals. Shout out to Nancy, am breakfast server/manager, Scott at the beach restaurant and Roberto, evening server. Did I mention there’s a swim up bar, lol?

She took our number and said she would call when our room was ready. No call ever came.
