This hotel is just over 10 minutes drive to Gatwick Airport in the quiet countryside in a beautiful old manor house. Room 209 was spacious, quiet and luxurious but I was surprised to discover 8 stairs to negotiate after I got out of the lift. There was no bar fridge in the room so I had to ask bar staff for an ice bucket to chill the bottles of water provided. There was no power point in the bathroom either which seemed unusual. Apart from that, the stay was perfect. It’s hard to find anywhere with parking included close to Gatwick and there is also a restaurant on site although the menu is somewhat limited and a bit pricey. The bar looked cozy and lovely though.

Lovely old, secluded property nicely converted and modernised. Decent room, easy parking and fantastic breakfast. Lovely quiet area and helpful staff, too. Worth considering for a night before going to Gatwick but seems to be primarily a Wedding venue so may be 'livelier' at weekends.

Lovely and warm. Really nice old building. Delicious well cooked evening meal. Friendly staff. Only small down side was that the bar area was a bit gloomy and wasn't in keeping with the rest of the building

An amazing Country House hotel . very reasonable rates, the entire hotel was in exceptionally good condition, lovely views over spacious grounds and countryside beyond, a couple of wild deer grazing in grounds, Dinner Menu was not huge but all home cooked generous and delicious, staff were extremely friendly and helpful, We will certainly return and stay longer. Only negative was slightly underwhelmed by the Buffet breakfast

Lovely manor house Hotel. It's foremost a wedding venue, conference type hotel so nice and peaceful in the week. Room was quiet, very comfy bed. Food in the restaurant was very good quality. I had the pork belly and it was delicious. Will stay here again for sure. Room was cheaper than a Premier Inn too.

The property was beautiful and the staff hospitality was fantastic! My room however was very dusty and caused me to continuous sneeze and sniffle. The lady at the front desk swiped down my room and provided a fan which helped. Unfortunately, there weren’t any other rooms available to move to.

We stayed the night as we were there for brilliant comedy night. The Hotel is amazing and has been renovated very well so that it retained its historic looks whilst enjoying double glazing etc in the rooms. The room was very clean and well thought out, although there was a creaky floorboard but what can you expect after many years. Breakfast was ok but to be honest I’ve had better. The hotel grounds were amazing and we’ll definitely stay again. The only downside was the child leaving with her parents at 4am, presumably for an early flight out of Gatwick, who woke me up shouting down the corridor. Overall I would definitely recommend staying here.

Nice surroundings. Food good. Staff ok. Room 7 too much noise as literally by the entrance to the hotel. Also a pipe connecting the rooms between the walls was really loud if flushed or showers on. Overall lovely stay but rooms 6 and 7 avoid. We had no choice as only rooms available due to a function.

Really nice staff, very helpful. Grounds are beautiful as is the surrounding countryside. Room was spacious and reasonably clean though it seemed they rushed the cleaning a bit. Restaurant served very good food and the servers were very good. However, they seemed short-staffed as the servers seemed rushed, never unfriendly or inattentive, just extremely busy. Be aware there is no AC so if the weather is warm, the rooms might feel stuffy (we stayed in August). We opened the windows and that helped. Place is quiet so noise was not an issue. Would stay there again.

The room was clean and comfortable and we had an amazing view over the downs. Checking and out was quick and easy. The only downside was the soundproofing on the room door and the windows which wasn’t great. Some heavy curtains and a new room door would really help.

This was a great little find close to Gatwick airport and perfect for our early morning flights. I have marked it down though for a couple of reasons. Firstly if you arrive in the dark the walk from the carpark is poorly lit and as the ground is uneven it’s easy to trip… which I did. Secondly the rooms are pretty good for the money apart from the beds which were bad! Good quality, soft bedding and pillows but the mattress needs to be replaced. There was a huge dip (twin room) and you could feel the spring coils digging into you all night and even once you were up you cousin still feel exactly where they were in your skin. Hence why I’ve scored down. Shame as otherwise it would have been full marks.

Check in consisted of filling in forms with info already supplied online why waste so much time and effort?? Room was painfully hot had to leave windows open all night. The towel rail was dangerously hot. Staff were polite and room was a good standard

Room was nice, big and very clean One member of bar staff, more interested in phone than serving, one waitress in dining room, steak we had was nice but very over seasoned too salty and peppery and chips too.werent asked if meal was ok, lack of attention.Breakfast, we were left to get on with it , no instruction on how system worked e.g coffee machine, had to call waitress to order breakfast, overall hotel was very nice but waiting and bar staff could do with extra customer service training although they were very pleasant.

Property is conveniently located close to Gatwick Airport in a very nice building. The food in the restaurant was fairly good. The hotel is poorly run with staff who did not seem interested. If I had paid half the amount I was charged this would have been more appropriate.

I am still awaiting a refund for the agreed upon rate. I had to go to hospital during my stay and also had an emergency with my son at sleepaway camp. The phone in my room did not work (at all), plus their wifi was down and I had no cell reception. Not a great time for multiple emergencies. Check in was also over an hour later and the room they chose for me was directly over a school prom with music blaring until 11:00pm. I mean, directly over dead center on one floor above it. Staff was completely ambivalent to any guest issues. The chaperone at the prom approached them looking for a wheelchair (one of the children got hurt) and the seemed completely uninterested. Their answer was simply “no”. I had to check out to stay at a hotel closer to an A&E so I could leave my son alone in the hotel after I picked him up (obviously so I would have some way to get ahold of him) so a refund was to be granted as agreed upon by the Expedia agent and the hotel administrators. I still have not gotten the refund. On top of that, I had to write my credit card number down on a piece of paper to make sure the refund would go through and they just left it on the front desk (and clearly didn’t completely the transaction. There was no grace or apologies for late check in, for not having a working phone or for anything else.

Your hotel was fantastic the staff are extremely helpful and experienced, we had the evening meal and it was absolutely delicious, as was the full english breakfast, we will certainly be back,and would recommend your hotel to anyone. Thankyou for a terrific stay
