Comfort Inn & Suites Springfield I-44

It was a little crazy that the key card readers were broken and staff had to let me into my room. I've never had that happen before.

We rolled in after a long day on the road and would have left if we weren't exhausted. We had been looking forward to a soak in the hot tub and kids burning energy in the pool. We were greeted with the news that both were closed due to issues AND the key system was down so they had to let us in our rooms. Yes, they had sent an email but we were on the road, not checking emails. The lobby and hallway were discouraging, our kids asked if we could go somewhere else. I am pleased to say the room was in much better condition and was clean, the bed was comfortable and breakfast was decent and included a good variety of items. The front desk staff were very nice and made sure our doors were opened quickly and our rooms were ready. Not a terrible experience but not our best with this chain, we expected better.

The only thing I can say that’s negative about this stay was their door locks were down in the whole building so every customer had to ask to be let into their rooms individually. However- they worked their tails off to make sure that everyone was taken care of and never showed any sweat. True dream team! I’d stay again just because of the girls who worked Friday night (:

I was just irritated that the pool was not heated because it was broken and also the hot tub was out of service. No only reason I rented a room and this hotel was for those amenities

Card machines were down/getting renovated. Staff had to let us into our bedroom when door was shut. Every time.

This hotel is poorly maintained, dirty and in need of a lot of upkeep. They put me in a ground floor room which was below the 1st floor and it was damp and moldy smelling, the carpets were filthy and stained in the room as well as in the halls. The towels and shower curtain were threadbare and falling apart. The pool and hot tub were out of service which was one of my reasons for booking. The franchise should be ashamed of the condition of this facility. Would not recommend!!

The pool and hot tub were out of service the entire weekend. The girl that checked us in said the email was okay necause it was for expedia. I never received a receipt for our stay.

We chose this hotel because of the pool; however, when we got there, there was a sign on the pool door indicating it was closed for maintenance. Front desk staff did not advise this of the closure at check in or during a phone call 3 days prior to arrival, nor was it posted on any hotel website. We would have chosen a different hotel had we known ahead of time that the pool would be closed as this was the primary reason for our stay.

Hot tub wasn't working, pool was cool, says it's a heated pool, lot of stuff in the pool, breakfast wasn't maintained

The room was dirty. The phone didn't work. The room, hallways, and elevators had dust bunnies everywhere. The hot tub was closed down. The towels were paper thin and several of them had mud and makeup on them caked on them. They cleary had not been washed. There was one employee on staff on Friday evening during check-in times so she had to close the front desk while she had to go attend to other things such as cleaning my room.

Breakfast was great. Clean but dated. Staff was friendly.

They stuck us in the ground floor. It’s near the pool. Everything was musty. They sheets smelled bad. They use heavy air fresheners trying to cover up the smells. They need dehumidifiers for the hallway and rooms in that underground floor.

Not the cleanest rooms. Walls and ceiling had stains. Hallways were very hot and there is a weird smell to the building

Dirty toilet, sticky bathroom floor, dirty sheets and musty room!

We had roachs in our room and when we told the desk clerk she seemed nonchalant about it. We told her that we wanted a refund she said that we have to take it up with Orbitz.

Smelled and looked clean

Staff was fine. Beds were comfy and room amenities were good. Condition of the hotel outside the rooms is disgusting. Big stains on the carpet, elevator is like a service elevator, clearly used to be a smoking hotel so it smells Like smoke covered up in cheap deodorizer everywhere. First floor breakfast area has no AC, sweltering. The pool was closed. Skip this place!

Excellent room, very comfortable bed

This is the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Pillows are perfect! Everything has been great,

Breakfast was fantastic. Only complaint was the wifi drops off after about half an hour and you have to keep signing in. Annoying.

This was a convenient, quick stop. The hotel was adequate, but nothing special. The interior is dated with dingy carpet. There was some annoying mechanical whine most of the evening. Overall, acceptable stop-over with no frills.

The pool and hot tub are not working, the WiFi doesn’t work, the beds are like sleeping on a park bench. I’m extremely disappointed we were not notified of the pool not working so my kids are upset and now they can’t even play with their tablets due to no WiFi

When we checked in and the desk person saw the room we were given, his face fell. I asked if something was wrong with the room, but he tole me all was OK. All was NOT OK. We were given a room on the "ground" floor where the pool is. The hallway was so hot and humid I assumed we were in the pool area, but the pool doors were closed. Our room was a little warm and humid when we walked in, but I turned up the AC and assumed it was because nobody had been in there. The air coming out of the AC was cool, but it seems the fan wasnt working because you could only feel the cool air about 5 inches from the AC. It was evening, so i put my kids to bed and about an hour later the room seemed even hotter. I turned the AC a little higher and went to sleep. I woke several times because the room was so hot. I didnt want to wake my kids and move rooms, because I knew they would never go back to sleep, and the desk person said the hotel was pretty full. In the morning, I showered and struggled to keep the water in the shower because the curtain rod was hanging by 1 screw and the curtain would pool in the center. We checked out the pool, the pool area was dirty and the hot tub has been closed for awhile. Breakfast was OK, but there was no coffee. The desk guy said to make it in the room and bring it down. The only working ice machine was on the 2nd floor. When checking out, I asked the guy why he gave us that room. His response was "I cant give you a refund, you booked through a service"

Been waiting for 30 minutes to check in.. still no one at the front desk

It was terrible. The girl working the front desk was rude and did not want to help us with our air conditioner situation. The ac did not work all night and we couldnt sleep we were sweating and my 12 yr. Old and my 5 yr. Niece were with me. We contacted tyem twice and all they said was we are sorry there is nothing we can do. Yes you can change our room especially if we paid for our hotel in advance anyways. Will never go there again.

There was no one at the counter when we arrive. We had to wait over 10 minutes for help.

The weekend front desk clerk is great! She is all smiles, helpful, great experience!

Staff was superior and room was clean

We were disappointed with our experience. The staff was unwilling to work with us even though we reached out several days before our stay. The entire establishment smelled strongly of cigarettes and marijuana. For safety, the back door was supposed to be secured, but it did not lock properly. Additionally, the hotel is located right off the highway, which made it noisy. We would not stay here again.

The staff here is amazing. We forgot and left our kids cups in the fridge in our room. We called the property and they said they would save them for us to pick up on our trip home the following week. We returned to the property and they still had the cups and had even washed them out for us. We will be staying here again in the future!

The bed was hard as a rock. Worst night sleep in a long time. The area is over run with homeless that approached people in the parking lot begging. The building needs some updating. Old fixtures, damaged walls and stuff. The plugs on the night stand need to be replaced. Very loose, so i had trouple with things staying powered. Not good for a cpap user.

Walked in to check in and smelled fresh and clean. Easy access off highway lots of eating options! Room was clean and both microwave and refrigerator! Great choice for the night Clean sheets

That it was close to i44 and it was quiet

The hotel is conveniently located right off the highway. They have a great breakfast. The parking is very easy. The beds were comfortable, and the room is clean!

The hotel was good, but there were so many homeless people around we felt unsafe!

Overnight stop on our way from Texas to Ohio. Pleasant, and restaurants in walking distance. Breakfast was very nice.

Old dated property, pool wasn’t heated so was very cold. Hotel smelled they had air fresheners everywhere to try and combat the smell. One of the people in our group got their car broken into, could be the fact that there is a dispensary next door?

The young man that check us in was very pleaseant. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. The only negative for our room - it was incredibly hot and the wall unit didnt make much of a difference. Negative fore breakfast was the orange juice was watery so i added the strawberry/kiwi to it and it was better that way.

Our refrigerator in our room didn’t work. The hot tub was drained and the “heated” pool was ICE cold. Ended up going to a family members hotel to swim. Breakfast was not the best. Ran out of stuff by 8 am. Paint chipping and floors dirty. The sprinkler in our room was half way hanging out. Half the lights on our room didn’t work. Only certain buttons on tv worked. We saw the same trash on the ground in the hallways our entire day. very disappointed in this hotel.

Check in was smooth, receptionist was pleasant, room was clean, decent exercise room with weights and cardio machines, hot tub was closed, pool looked nice. Breakfast options were good, but would you believe the coffee machine only had functioning decaf! Overall, the place is fine, convenient location, but could use a refresh.

The room was impeccably, clean, quiet and comfortable; the building exterior and things like door handles and outside appearance were clearly worn; breakfast was advertised, but a hot breakfast was not available on the weekend

This is an older property. Everything was ok except the carpeting in the bedroom smelled. The bathtub faucet was dripping so I kept the door shut so as not to hear it. The price seems high for the condition of the property. It’s conveniently located to the freeway and the free breakfast in the AM was one of the best.

The room was nice and clean. Plenty of counter space in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good.

Coffee machine was broke they can barely understand that I was asking for the coffee and had to go up the street at the nearest gas station to get it both mornings hallways were completely filthy and I understand it's snowed but nobody made an attempt one time to clean anything in the hallways and when I went to check in my room the cleaning cart was in the hallway and they did not make one attempt to move to let me get by probably because they didn't understand any English

It was a nice place to stay. There were a few little things that bothered us, the shower head needed to be replaced, and the electrical outlets needed to work. The breakfast was great!
