It was an awfull stay, the room smells if their was a dead body and the space between the bed and wall, was too small to walk. The persons behind the reception were both very friendly, so that was a small compensation of this stay.

The hotel is really clean and comfortable. They gave us a Basel card, so we could use public transport for free. One downside was that tram passes along the street next to the hotel, and you can hear it.

Staff was excellent, room very good. A bit expensive, but convenient to town center. The area around the hotel had massive construction going on. A bit noisy, but very quiet at night. Two negatives: shower was terrible, one minute it was extremely hot and the next it was suddenly ice cold. Taking a shower was an adventure. Also the room was a bit warm, and the thermostat didn’t work. Overall though, a nice hotel. We’d definitely stay there again.

Very good hotel, perfectly located to explore Basel. We had a room in the Residence section of the hotel by the garden which was quiet. Breakfast in the hotel is expensive so we did not eat there but there are multiple restaurants and cafes close by to choose from if you want to eat out. The only reason not to give the hotel 10/10 was because the aircon wasn’t great, even though we had the setting as low as it would go, the room did get very hot.

I selected this hotel in Basil because if it’s rating and specifically because it has air conditioning. It does not have air conditioning whatever system it uses. It does not call the room. We requested a freestanding fan, which made the room tolerable. If you have any sensitivity to the heat, do not go there other than that the room was nice. The people were nice and patronizing

Very nice modern hotel. Good amenities. Our room was upgraded - it was a good sized room. With Swiss focus on environment, the temperature control in the room is governed. We stayed in early September during a heat wave and the room was far too hot for sleep. Fortunately staff provided us with an electric fan to make it bearable. Will not travel to this area in summer again. At least we had AC! Good restaurant at hotel. Hotel close to other good restaurants and stores. 10 minute walk to old town central market area with many museums, shops, cafes, and a cathedral! Transit was right outside our hotel. Excellent transit system. Easy to use.

Staff very helpful and friendly. We arrived before 3pm so we’re not expecting to be able to check in. However the room was ready and we were able to go there. The hotel also provided free bottled water every day and a Basel pass which allowed free travel on the trams and reduced entry to museums which we really appreciated 👍

I was very pleased with the accommodation as it was very convenient - friendly reception, close to the trams, with eating options and a supermarket a few doors down. The breakfast was also pretty good. The one thing that confused me slightly was taking the tram from SBB station and alighting at Messeplatz. It was not obvious to me where the hotel was from google map!
