great reception and then taken to wonderful room in Sassi and right in the middle of the old town. Room really clean and comfortable. Breakfast next day was excellent and lots of choice and clean and fresh room

The hotel is in a great location to explore Matera, and some of the rooms are in actual caves (it's a great experience for a night or two) without windows. These rooms are very nice and have a good spacious shower. Some rooms are not in the check-in building and so a walk down some stone steps may be required.
