Hotel checked me in before I arrive. This hotel should not open it’s still under construction and renovation. Tried to give me a room just finish, full of construction dust and heavy paint smell. I did not stay and get my refund from Expedia.

The property is undergoing renovation and the laundry was not available.

Rooms are not yet QUITE finished, nor is parking lot, yet they rented us room anywzy.

Pool closed for maintenance, check in was pretty slow.

They are doing construction at the site . Made it impossible to find the office. False advertisement had no pool no breakfast and no ice.

I liked the place. However when you book a room because they have an indoor pool and you want a couple days to just get away and unwind only to find out it's been shut down for over a year is unaccessible.

This place was scary. Broke down cars in the parking lot. Obviously people living there. It’s under going a renovation but there are no signs pointing to the temporary office. Felt like we were being watched to see what could be stolen from us. I am a retired cop and always travel with protection, I did not feel safe staying there. My son and I found a different place to stay.

This hotel is largely being renovated. (Walls, floors, plumbing, electrical, being replaced.) They do not require a deposit. There is construction noise. I checked in at a construction trailer (the clerk was very nice.) I went to my room, in the back of the property, in the unrenovated building. There was a woman smoking on the steps right in front of my door. The tile floor was greasy. The furniture was sticky. I called the desk, and held the room phone away from my face, and checked out . She was nice, and refunded me. I stayed at the Cozy Inn, which was perfect. To the nice woman at the desk, I'm sorry for this bad review. You were the best part of my experience. (Thanks!)

Pool and hot tub where 'closed for maintenance ' but it looks like it has been closed for a while. They should let potential guests know beforehand.

Pulled up to the motel to find the front completely fenced off and under construction, I wasn't made aware of this. I found the check-in station in a temporary portable on-site. I selected a non-smoking room, however the room reeked of cigarettes. There were older vehicles that looked like they were permanently parked and a lot of people walking in and out of rooms, it made me feel a little uneasy. There was sun shining in around all 4 sides of the door, and I could hear everything going on outside. Bedding had cigarette burns and toilet wasn't sturdy. This was the first time I've ever not felt safe at a motel and I left and stayed somewhere else. Low price point but still not worth it.

The room smelled terrible!!! It was a dank, stale smell that also smelled of a combination of urine and bleach. I burned a strong Redwoods-smelling candle in there for two hours. It did not help. I will not stay at King Oscar again. The cleaning standard is way below my standard of what “clean” means.

We walked in the room and walked right back out and gave them the key back. It looked like there were people living there, with bed sheets over the windows. The outside looked gross. The room smelled like wet dog, had a very large area in the carpet that was so worn that there was no carpet left and you could see the wood sub-floor, and a large hole in the tile entry where you could see wood sub-floor. I would have been afraid to sleep there. We found another hotel a mile down the road.

The room was trashed. White Socks turned black from walking on carpet. Tiles were broken. Tub was moldy. Trim and door frame were destroyed from water damage. Multiple chunks if carpet missing from different areas of room. Smelled like smoke.

Sadly a brand new refurbished room had Black mold in the bathroom, a big spot. Light switch that didn't work, bathroom plug that had no power. To top that all off the manager was smoking at the main entrance which stunk up going to the office.

The staff were fine, but the room and facilities were awful, even for a freeway-side motel. The bathroom was dirty with holes in the walls, the shower curtain rod wasn't attached to the wall, and there was mold around the floor trim. The exterior door did not seal properly, you could see light around all for edges. Since the door faced the freeway this meant LOUD traffic noise all night. Also, the prices seemed to be jacked up for an event in the town that weekend, adding insult to injury....

Bed has a finger print of red stuff on it; not sure if it was blood or what, but a “clean” room ready to occupy shouldn’t have that. Also, shower had long black hair in the tub, I’m a bald man. AC didn’t really work, room was 80+ all night.

Great clean room, comfortable

Checked into the room kind of late, less than a block away there where homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk, the room smelled like stinky feet and there was hair and some other kind of matter on the floor (I think it was a dry booger)

Staff wasn't rude, but not very friendly. The room has recently been remodeled, but some things were not completed or not done correctly. The room wasn't dirty, but housekeeping needs to pay closer attention to things. Little things were left unattended. Not a horrible place to stay for a night.

Towels were dirty, there was hair on them and in the shower. Curtains were all ripped up. front door lock was broke. Didn't feel safe. Most the hotel rooms looked like people lived there. Definitely would never recommend this to anyone.

What a pleasent experience. The Varsity is on the move. They are sinking some money into this place and it shows. My room was clean, spacious, quiet and completly remodeled. All for $70.00 a night. Friendly staff and a clean well light parking lot was a bonus.

Convenient location to food and shopping Outside of hotel was questionable, construction, and old. Inside of the room was Newley remodeled, clean and comfortable. Water temperature in shower was Luke warm and after a cold wet day in the PNW it was less then enjoyable.

The room looked bright and freshly remodeled with new furniture. Staff was friendly and the Wi-Fi in our assigned room was excellent. We found the bed to be very comfortable - great mattress choice! The location was convenient for our travel plans with quick access to a number of restaurants and grocery stores in town, and the freeway close by. Our room was quiet.

It's being remodeled but it's a decent building. The room was clean. My only complaint is the freeway traffic noise but other than that, it's a decent model for the price.

The rooms were recently remodeled and everything looked fresh. The mattress was amazingly comfortable!

Newly renovated rooms. Comfy bed & clean bedding & towels. Mabe upgrade the tub/shower & toliet seat. Its quiet even near the freeway. Safe & secure parking right in front of my room. Besides the guests right above my room doing parcor jumps with kids & dogs until late at night. I recommend this hotel.

Hotel very quite, did not hear street noise

The location is great in relation to I5, food options, and tons of shopping. We spent about a week here playing at Great Wolf Lodge during the day and sleeping at King Oscar. I love that there is a Safeway down the street so I could grab some food staples and use the fridge/freezer and microwave to eat food we love instead of spending a fortune on food from resturaunts and fast food that isn’t as good as homemade. Check in was easy and the woman at the front desk was lovely. There were residents who seemed to live at the property meandering and were very kind and respectful to us. There was a lot of road noise from I5 (our room was facing the freeway) which provided great white noise for us. My family loves cars so we enjoyed the sounds of cars going by. We didn’t hear a sound from neighbors so I think the sound of the cars was a great bonus. Overall it’s definitely a “you get what you pay for” stay but I found the pros to outweigh the cons.

The side facing the freeway was the only part open. Not the cute family motel seen in the photos. I was imagining a fight breaking out in the parking lot or my car getting broken into, but I'm glad we stuck it out. The double queen room was clean and comfortable enough for the price we paid. The only noises we heard in the night was the freeway, which was really loud. The pillows were strange clumps of fabric that my wife and I couldn't shape into anything comfortable but the kids seemed to sleep ok.

It’s not often you book a hotel and show up to a consultation site. I found a trailer with a light on and there was a nice lady working who checked me in and informed me I was rebooked at another hotel across town (valley Green apartments formerly motel 6). After a bit of a wait I received my keys and directions to the other place. Once I arrived my keys didn’t work so back to the construction site and trailer we went. The desk lady called for some help but no one was answering to help her. After an hour she reprogrammed my keys and said to go back and give it a try again. She gave me a number to call if it didn’t work. Off to the other hotel went… Once again the door keycard did not work. I called the number she gave me and it instantly went to voicemail “no one it available and the mailbox is full, goodbye”. Wow! This really sucks. I go back to the construction site trailer again and let the office lady know they key cards didn’t work again and the number she gave me to call didn’t allow me to get through to anyone. There were others having similar issues in the “trailer”. The office lady was trying her best and I felt bad for her. There was zero support from the hotel “management”. After about 30 minutes she gave me keys to another room and we got it. We booked for two nights but in the morning after the first night. This place SUCKS!

There system went down and they couldn't get our reservation or make room keys so we ended up staying the night in our car. Worst experience ever.

The check in was incredibly quick and easy. The room was clean and the beds comfy.

The staff was kind and courteous and gave me recommendations on where to eat. They're recently renovated room was well worth the budgeted price tag.

Cons: The motel is under construction so I was put on the side next to the freeway. It was so loud it seemed like the door was open all night. People seem to live there on the ground floor. Very sketchy. Will not go back. Pros: Low price, take cash.

The convenience by the freeway (I-5) is great. For the price, it’s a high value. Some interesting characters. Great reception. Very accommodating.

Customer service is amazing always and the breakfast is great too

The building is old and tired, with popcorn ceilings. The breakfast is quite limited and sparse, with no eggs or meat. Lots of traffic noise, as maybe should be expected due to King Oscar's proximity to the freeway. On the positive side, the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and there were clean towels.

Noisy , bathroom fecal matter on toilet, no breakfast as advertised, tub soap tray minuscule, no stopper in bathtub, no ice available,big gaps on door, no phones in room had to put clothes back on and walk to office, window was unlocked when we got in room. The first room deadbolt wouldn’t lock and door sweep was not on missing screws,moved us to another room so we had to repack etc.I gave manager this list. Hotel is in process of being remodeled. I was going to rent 3 rooms next weekend but talked to friends and they chose to find another place. The only positive thing I could say is that bedding, pillows and bed was very comfortable. I’m not blaming gal at counter or manager as she said she would pass on info to owner.I requested some compensation but said I’d have to go through Expedia as I booked with you. We had been in the car for hours and just wanted to have a bedtime cocktail and had to get dressed and go to office, no ice machine😡 someone had left an open bag of ice, she didn’t know who so I got enough for a couple of drinks. Also frig had no freezer so leftover ice melted.

Overall was okay...they had good breakfast, and close by was a shopping mall ..Anita was great at check in and sent us to a wonderful Mexican restaurant nearby

EXTREMELY limited breakfast. Don’t count on having anything of substance. Even the coffee was weak.
