Convenient location near the shopping center and it was convenient having the hair salon on the second floor and a Starbucks in the lobby. But I think for the cost of the resort fee, the amenities could be better, the steam room was broken and there was a big cockroach in the sauna! The parking lot underneath the building is a bit of a mess too! There should be more water filter stations throughout the hotel. Renovated rooms were good overall.

Staff was super friendly, always welcoming, filled with Aloha. Hotel is in walking distance of The Bus, Magic Island, and has a bridge to Ala Moana Shopping Center. Pint + Jigger and The Signature truly excellent food and drink. DADA spa facial (Mila is incredible) and Bellissima for beautiful feet. Fusion Cafe Salmon Bagel is a work of art and delicious.

Hotel has a lot to offer...restaurants, pool, gym, close to beach. Room furniture and fixtures needs updating. Bathroom toilet is so low to floor, more suited for children versus seniors. Overall would recommend for a short stay.

Stayed for 3 nights. Check In staff was nice even the line is kind the long (system update) Parking attendant not helpful at all. We're not familiar how paid parking works the 1st time. (Exiting) We stop We're the booth is & told us to insert the ticket to the ticket dispenser which is a back length of arm, we did ask if she can insert it for us but declined 😔 so we back up just a little not a big deal but attendant can improved or atleast give an aloha.

The property was walkable. Right across the street from the mall. Coffee, speakeasy, restaurants, gift shop on site. Pool, gym, and sauna. Cabanas are included in the amenities, not extra fees like some places such as Vegas. They did not have a hot tub which would be nice.

Rooms were clean. Checkin was easy. Friendly staff. It was conveniently located near the mall with many dining options. Beautiful view of the city and ocean from our balcony. Pool water was cold and there is no hot tub.

Room was clean and staff was responsive when i asked them to adjust the shower knob which was immovable. I had microwave and Fridge which was convenient. Hotel was next to the Ala Moana mall with a nice food court and many dining options which are simple and affordable. It is close to convention center. Downside is it is far from Waikiki beach and main shopping areas of Waikiki.

The room was very outdated and not so clean the bed had 2 pillows that was like so worn out it was flat when you lay on it. There was a pullout chair that was so dirty from being used it looked like it doesn't belong in there no bags for your dirty laundry no ice machine on the floor it felt like it was a waste of money I must say that the Valet crew had the best service overall.

So disappointed…. Stayed here 15 years ago and loved it…. The room was generally dirty with the bathroom floor needing moping and the carpet vacuuming. No stationary/ pen, no slippers , no robe, softest mattress we have ever felt in a hotel and the closet doors were so moldy that one would not slide? The room is extreme poorly maintained. It smell of mold, the fixtures are broken and there is almost no water pressure at the shower . Defensively NOT worth $250 a night! Find a different facility!

Pro: location, parking garage, soft bed and clean linen and quiet stay if you're on the higher floor. I was on the 21 floor during my stay and it was a peaceful stay. Con: dated hotel that need to be renovated. The room was dated and bathroom smelled moldy. There were fingerprints on the suite door and sliding glass door. The counter, side table and tv remote was dirty when I wiped it with a wet wipe it came away brown. There are stains on chair cushions and the walls. I will not be staying here again. It's disappointing to see the cleaning quality has dropped so drastically after the pandemic.

I was wondering why my asthma was triggered, enough to the point where I had to buy and use a nebulizer… right after taking a shower the morning I checked up, I saw BLACK MOLD in the bathroom door frame!!! I’ve been breathing in black mold for 4 nights!!

Very clean, great location. The only thing is I booked an ocean view room, I get to the room and it’s a city view. When I spoke with front desk they told me they don’t offer ocean view. I showed him my reservation and he said “I don’t know what to tell you, we don’t have ocean view.”

Hotel was divided. The new part was great. Unfortunately, we were in the other part. Small rooms, no room service and the shower was ineffectual at best. Very dated. Reception area and restaurants were nice though.

I always stay here when I go back home. I like the central location which makes it easy to travel to every part of the island. It is just a 5 minute walk to Ala Moana shopping center where i can find a delicious and reasonable meal at the food court. I only wish they would upgrade the rooms a bit. The plumbing is old so the bathtub drains painfully slow. Also the mattresses and pillows need to be upgraded.

Overall stay was alright, the rooms were a bit underwhelming, but the staff and location make up for the room’s ambiance. Proximity to the beach and the mall make it a fantastic spot for first time travelers. Lighting in the rooms could be improved as well as overall amenities (such as the laundry rooms, parking and what not) especially the parking should be either more convenient or less expensive maybe both as most of my weeks’ stay was spent trying to figure out how much parking was going to be every time I left the parking area which is not ideal. Staff on the other hand was pretty helpful especially the housekeepers.

It was a nice place overall, I like that it was right across from the shopping center. The room was a little smaller than I expected. The room I chose advertised that it was a partial ocean view but I had no view of the ocean, only of the mall parking garage. Maybe because I was on a lower floor? Staff was nice and friendly. The only thing I really disliked was that there wasn’t an ice machine on my floor, I had to go to a different floor to get ice from a machine that barely worked.

Smelled of paint, but was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was not friendly. I tried to ask someone for recommendations as they were talking with their coworker, and it seemed like i was inconveniencing them. They immediately went back to talking to their coworker when asked if i was done. Staff in cafe was excellent, same with stores. Bell staff and valet were also not the friendliest. Good location, easy walk to mall, pool was nice and deep.

We’ve stayed at this property multiple times. Had wonderful times. But this time I cannot give Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra a top mark. Not after being essentially accused of skipping on paying our bill. When I checked in, we were convinced to upgraded to a balcony room with view. As usual, ID and credit card were handed over to complete the transaction. Paper was signed. They handed over to us room cards. Then one evening 4 days later—yes, 4 days—we arrived back to our room to find we were locked out. Unbeknown to us, it turns out the hotel did it deliberately. We talked to 4 different staff members to get it unlocked, but none disclosed to us why we were locked out. But 5 minutes after regaining entry, a phone call: “come down and pay your bill immediately.” Not a peep over the previous four days, not a call or polite message, and this is the way they choose to contact us about a bill that their staff had failed to complete a transaction for on day one. Lock them out! And later, not a single word of apology from management for our crass treatment (we complained twice). We grew up in Hawaii. This is a perfect example of an utter lack of Aloha. Very disappointed. We asked our local friends if we were over-reacting---they were appalled. Funny how this undeserved accusation tainted our entire one-week stay.

Check in was a nightmare! Over 100 guests waiting after two international flights came in at the same time. It took 40 minutes. They did, however, provide fresh baked cookies for guests in line. Rooms need updating. Stains on carpet a d old furniture. No writing tablet or pen. Service was very friendly and professional. I heard from the valet guys that they are doing renovations on a floor by floor basis. It needs it.

Close to Ala Moana Mall and Ala Moana park/beach. The breakfast option was expensive at $30 per person. There was a Starbucks downstairs and a shop with sandwiches and drinks that was a lot less expensive. The beds were lumpy but we got used to them. The staff was the best thing about this hotel.

We showed up at the hotel and didn’t stay there. The amount of homeless camps in the area was insane. Trash everywhere. Not safe for any family to stay. If you want to get something to eat, you would need to drive into the city. The town itself was not walking distance nor was there anywhere to eat in the area. Unless you want to be confined to your room the entire time, that would be the only reason to stay here.

The employees were absolutely the sweetest and so helpful. The vibe in the hotel was just so full of aloha. The restaurants were over the top, we loved the breakfast buffet, which was reasonable for us. We loved having Starbucks starting at 5:30 am in the lobby! Rooms were just perfect for us. The location connected to the mall was over the top convenient. I think we had to go to Target everyday. This was most easiest trip with this great location away from being in the center of Waikiki

The room was pretty accurate to the picture on the site. The pool area was actually way nicer than what was pictured so that was great. There is a sky bridge that takes you to the Ala Moana Center Mall which turned out to be a wonderful bonus! Breakfast at Cafe 410 was alright but we preferred going to the Liliha Bakery at the mall. Service was better and the food was AMAZING! I can’t say there was anything exceptional with the service from the hotel staff but overall, a nice stay and reasonably priced for the location.
