Residence Inn Kansas City Airport

This property is with group of hotels near airport but not walking distance to much of anything. You need transportation. Description had a hot tub and pool but hot tub did not exist. Our room was missing a ceramic tile in the kitchen, patio screen was torn, shower track was very dirty, patio door and track was very dirty and we had to ask three times to get maid service. We stay in many hotels in a year and this one was average at best.

I was disappointed to hear that the fireplaces were shut off. I specifically booked a fireplace room, but they were off for the season. The pool was a bit murky the first few days, but they fixed it. The spa was completely gone - didn't get that email until I arrived. Lastly, I had called to confirm a first floor room weeks ahead of time, but none were available when I arrived. The elevator was fine, but first floor would have been much better since I was traveling with two people in their 80s. Staff was very nice.

Besides the Pool being under maintenance our stay was wonderful! The Hotel did offer for us to swim at another hotel so that was nice. Breakfast was decent with a different selection each morning. Clean and friendly staff

Upon check-in, I was informed that there is an overnight parking fee of $15.95. Why? This is not a typical downtown location, but it has plenty of parking available. Who decided that Marriott found screw us with a parking fee. Go figure. NOT RECOMMENDED unless you're good with paying for parking during your stay. NOT RECOMMENDED!

Overall it was a great stay. I was disappointed though that I booked it because it said there was a hot tub and the day of 1 hour before I got there I got a message stating there was no hot tub

Pool was closed with a sign from the health department. Very disappointing for our family of 5 travelling through.

We were blind sighted when asked to pay $15 for parking. This was NOT part of our budget and we would have made a different decision had we known. Upon arrival -we have stayed there before- we were informed that it was a *new* thing and we’d have to pay. My husband went down to get bedding for our sofa bed so our kids could sleep and they didn’t give him any bedsheets, just two pillow with cases and two blankets.

We really enjoyed our stay for the most part. I did call the front office on night 1 because the air conditioner was soooo loud, we couldn’t sleep. I called the office and they said they would call back in a few minutes after talking to maintenance. The call never came and it was 9:30 with young kiddos so we decide to turn the air off so be could sleep. No one addressed the issue the next day and we decided it was a bigger pain to move, so we just stayed put. Our kids loved the pool and the outdoor area was so nice but I was extremely disappointed in the no hot tub. Pictures showed one and I always book places for a hot tub because it was important. Got an email after we already checked OUT that there is no longer a hot tub there.

The service was easy, kind, fast. The rooms were spacious and clean. The beds and pillows were super comfy. Our crunchy family took full advantage of thebfull kitchen in our suite to reheat our healthy food. We could easily have cooked from scratch here. Breakfast was big and delicious. The facilities were lovely: great pool & 2 workout rooms had just what we needed, large lobby with various coves 2 tv's with remotes handy. Only complaints: the patio furniture could have been cleaned & arranged daily. Coffee earlier. Stecia, monk fruit, xylitol, or erythritol would have been nice next to the coffee. Sucralose is closer chemically to agent orange than sugar, and worse for metabolic health also. Aspartame we also know is a horror. Thanks.

The location was convenient. However, the room we had was very much in need of updates and a deep cleaning. Beds were comfortable and sheets were clean. But the bathrooms were dingy and terribly out of date. Carpet was dirty and pulling up in several posts. Kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors were broken.

They need to rehire and train their cleaning staff, this property is just straight up disgusting. We were initially given a room on the first floor with a patio and just inside the sliding glass doors there were hundreds of dead bugs. What looked like wasps, ants, lady bugs, and beetles were lining the trim of the door and embedded into the carpet. Once you notice one disgusting thing the other issues tend to jump out. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling, the grout around the shower was moldy and hadn’t been cleaned since it was installed, the door and corners of the walls had cobwebs, and the vent in both the bedroom and the bathroom were caked in dust. The staff there put us in an adjacent room and low and behold, that room had the exact same issues as the previous. Instead of offering a refund (I didn’t ask for one either but they probably should have at this point) they decided the problem was the first floor patios so they put us on the second floor right above the other two rooms. Our third room assignment in one evening didn’t have bugs, thankfully, but had the same exact issues with the mold, dust, and cobwebs. Seriously, who cleans this place? If I had a child crawling around in this room I would be sick to my stomach wondering what they got into or touched. I would expect this from some seedy $50 a night motel but a residence inn owned by Marriott? I’m not sorry for this lengthy review and I hope whoever reads this looks for the same issues

The hotel looked nice upon arrival but once inside the staff were not friendly or pleasant. The parking is not free, and had people loitering all around. The room was gross. The bathroom had a used washcloth hanging from the rod. The bathtub floor was sticky, the carpet was stained (I was wearing white socks & the socks were dirty), & the bed was so uncomfortable. The room was for a handicapped person & the shower head would not stay up on the rod.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and provided us with plenty of space. I was disappointed in the overall cleanliness of the room. The walls were dirty, carpet was dirty, furniture was dirty, tile was sticky, cupboards sticky and dirty. Stains and splatters everywhere. Definitely in need of a good cleaning/deep cleaning. All the linens seemed cleaned. We did have to ask several times for extra linens for the pull out bed. When they did bring us linens they did not bring pillows. So we had to wait a bit long. We had a very early flight to catch so this was frustrating because to took a couple hours waiting on the linens. Upon check out we found out there was a $10 parking fee. It makes no sense why they are charging parking fees when people pay to stay. This information was not about parking was not listed when booking. I will not stay here again.

Plenty of dirty areas within the hotel mostly "commons" areas/hallways. Room was spotless! Bed was comfortable. 1 lightbulb burnt out and 1 door missing off bathroom vanity in our suite also. Breakfast was one of the best for a hotel. Breakfast area was very clean and also offered real plates and silverware. Pool area was nice. Water was beautiful and area around pool was clean. My main complaint was the dirtyness of the hallways, elevators, and in front of our room.

Hotel staff were good. The room was not clean what so ever. There was still trash left from the last customer who stayed in our room. Stains on the desk chair. Something white all over a picture on the wall. It looked like wet toilet paper like substance. And they also charge $14 to park in their parking lot. I feel you shouldn’t be charged on top of the stay. This hotel doesn’t have limited parking as it is in a pretty rural setting. I can see charging for parking if this was located downtown with limited parking.

Upon arrival I was first surprised that I was given the exact same room that I had two years before. Seems suspect to me. I was super disappointed because I remembered the room was rundown back then. This time it is worse. The air condition is so loud you can literally hear it running all night and super loud while in the restroom. Nothing had changed in two years except it is dirty and raggedy the floor was sticky and dirty. I asked for someone to come clean it and was told there was no one available. I got on my hands and knees and cleaned the floor with Clorox wipes. I also cleaned the whole room with wipes. There was a huge stain on the couch so I wasn’t sitting on that. Unfortunately we had already paid through Travelocity so I was stuck there. I went to hang up my towel and the whole rack fell on the ground. Where it stayed on the floor. 😡. I spilt ketchup and food on the sheets the next morning. My room was “cleaned” but instead of changing the dirty sheets they just made the bed and left the sheets as they were. I didn’t want it to happen the next day so I took them of the bed and the cleaning crew decided not to clean my room. Per the front desk she’s not sure why that happened. I asked for sheets and my husband had to go get them since it was super late and we were tired and I wasn’t sitting on that couch or the mattress pad without sheets. There I was changing sheets. Makes absolutely no sense to me. There was absolutely nothing good about this hotel.

The place was dirty there were stains in mutiple surfaces, no fitted sheet or duvet for the pull out mattress, only 3 bath towels fro a riom that sleeps 4-6 and when requested 3 more so i could shower my kids and get them to bed evening desk staff was rude and it took over an hour couldnt get my kids to bed until 11 pm. Day time staff were nice and took care of the inconvinces witj a discoumt which is the only reason I gave a 3 star eeciew over 1 or 2.

We arrived a bit early and the great staff got us to our room in pretty quick fashion. It was spotless.

One problem I encountered was the soap in the bathroom made the bathtub way to slippery I slipped a couple of times in the bathtub luckily, I managed to stabilize myself against the wall and prevented a fall. Maybe putting a non-slip mat in the tub for seniors could prevent an accident. Second, I had a difficult time accessing the internet for my tablet, what the front desk was telling me on how to gain access did not work they shrugged me off and told me to call a 1-800 number to call to diagnose the problem. I'm not good with current technology I'm still living in the 70s so I had a lot of difficulty understanding and implementing the changes to gain access to the internet, in the end he accessed my IP number, and I was able to gain access.

We love the suite we stayed in. Our family of us as grandparents and two daughters’ families were able to meet and enjoy Christmas together. Our family except for us live in the KC area so this worked out perfectly. The lobby is quiet, spacious and comfortable. Though we did not use the pool we did use the fitness room which was nice. We chose your hotel for the spaciousness of the living and kitchen area of the suite. It was exactly what we had hoped. It was the perfect Stay-cation for our family. The kids were able to sleep at home and still meet with us, and we had the privacy of comfortable sleep each night.

Great breakfast, clean spacious rooms, wonderful lobby and a friendly staff. The beds are very stiff, which is my only knock - but for a one-night business trip this place was otherwise perfect.

Our stay was great. Only suggestion is to replace mattress on sofa sleepers as they are quite thin and kids good feel the springs on their backs while sleeping.

Breakfast was hit and miss. We stayed three nights and only one breakfast was really good with lots to offer. The pull out sofa was not useable for sitting. The fitted sheet would not stay attached to the bed because it was too big. We were up several times each night re-making the bed. We requested new bedding which we received but had the exact same issue. Staff was friendly and overall our stay was average. Not many tv channel choices.

My room wasn’t ready so they gave me another. The internet portal was broken. They didn’t put any towels in the room. Only hand towels tried to call and see if they would bring me some. No on answered the front desk so I just gave up.

Excellent property and daily free breakfast. My suite was very nice and well furnished. Only negative was my room faced the noisy interstate; tried to change rooms but none available. Oh well. Still overall a superb experience. Will definitely come back in the future.!

Only one remote in room. Asked front desk if they could bring one to our room. Told me they couldn’t as they were too busy.

Nice stay, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. We had one issue we couldn’t get resolved. Our group had four people in the room and only three towels. Asked for an additional towel two times and never received one.

Marriott appears to really be struggling to staff their properties in KC. I recently stayed downtown at the Sheraton and the Westin and observed a similar shortage. Unfortunately, this makes it tough to get that extra towel, sheets for the pull out, etc that are necessities for a stay. As always, staff is well trained and friendly and the property has a solid breakfast. For the money, this is a great place to stay.

The night shift front desk person was rude. She was acting like we were bothering her when asked questions. Also when we called down to inform her that our room shower and tub wasn’t draining, we were told someone would come look at it no one ever came. We had just drove 17 hours from Maryland to Kansas City & wanted to shower. We had to wait 2 hours each time for the tub to drain so someone else could shower.

From the time we checked in to the time we left, we never had any issues. The staff there was awesome and answered any and all questions we had. The room was awesome and very clean. Even housekeeping tidying up everyday still made the room feel like home. Breakfast every morning was fresh and very well presented. Got to try some new things so that was a plus. After staying here, I will most definately stay at anothe residence inn in the future. 100 out of 100!!!!

Rude staff!! I’ll never go back there! I have never experienced anything like this ever and I travel ALOT! There is so much to say, I just don’t have enough space to type..2 WORDS…NEVER AGAIN!!

The staff was very friendly and willing to answer questions with a positive attitude. However, our tub/shower was dirty and there were no garbage bags in the trash cans. There were no sheets or blankets for the sofa bed. We called the desk to ask for some, but they had no blankets available and only gave us a flat sheet. We called them around 7pm and shortly before 11pm, they called and woke us up. We hadn’t answered, so they called back after 11 to let us know they had sheets but by then our children were asleep and they still didn’t have a blanket.

EV charging on site, easy location, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was completely overrun, not many amenities nearby. Overall good stay.

The breakfast was very disappointing and closed earlier than stated. It also doesn’t seem right that as a hotel guest you have to pay for daily parking.

Overall everything was good, spacious rooms, however both breakfast we were there they were putting out expired milk. Like 2 days old.

Went to breakfast and got coffee. Set it on a table and went to get food. Came back and coffee had been cleared. Then there was no coffee, you were out. Disappointing!

I booked the property because of the Marriot name and reputation. It did not live up to my expectations. We had a suite with a king bed. The bed should have been replaced years ago and we just sank to the ground. The room was pretty run down and needed a face lift. Maid service was supposed to be every other day. The room wasn’t touched. We had to go to the. Desk for towels, Kleenex, and toilet paper. Breakfast was sparse and not well stocked. Eggs were well done and the frittatas were burned on the bottom. There are too many options in the KC area to give this a second chance.
