Staff was wonderful. Hotel charming. Restaurants good. Parking was a bit of a challenge. Only issue was no air conditioning since our trip was in late July.

Nice small room - well-equipped. No air-conditioning but there was a fairly elderly fan. Very friendly welcome from the young man at reception. We did not eat in the hotel but the pub downstairs looked inviting

This hotel is old, worn out, and uncomfortable. With no A/C and no cross ventilation, rooms are stifling hot, even in 25c weather. Several guest had their front doors propped open with bin baskets - and rooms outside open directly onto a public patio so very little privacy and you feel a part of conversation with those having a drink on the patio. Walls are scratched, stained, have water damage, etc. Rooms are dark and dreary - the kind of hotel you would NOT walk on the floor with bare feet. Staff were unhelpful, passive aggressive and generally unfriendly. I have nothing to say about this hotel. The Bear, around the corner, is much preferred.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food and drinks were reasonable and good prices only thing I would say we had one of the rooms in the annex area and this needs updating with new carpets and fresh paint.
