Excellent check in. Very friendly staff. Extremely dog friendly. Room was spacious. All the fire doors in the corridors were a bit difficult to manage, but otherwise good. Food and drink was excellent and bar staff great. Excellent location being in the middle of the high street and the canal very close by for walking. Outdoor areas of the hotel were rather scruffy / dirty. Not a particularly nice area to sit close to the car park.

Nice old style Inn- really convenient stop for me cycling though! Helpful staff locked my bike up in the laundry room which was much appreciated!

The staff are very helpful. There are 6 parking spaces available for guests behind the hotel in the railway parking area. Breakfast was good. Bedroom was cramped and bed and pillows not over comfortable. Good value for money

The hotel doesn't have it's own parking but the town lot is just behind the property and very convenient. FYI, it is a VERY old building. If you are tall, ask about the head room in the room they are giving you. My daughter's boyfriend couldn't stand up straight in their room except in the shower. Even my daughter at 5'6" had her head hit the ceiling. My room in the new section was fine. My daughter was fine with the room as she said most of the time they were sleeping in the room and it just didn't matter.

A great central location, lovely staff,a good choice of food and great breakfast. The car parking is behind the hotel in the station long stay car park with direct access to the property.

Really nice place to stay, rooms are really nice with everything you could need. No A/C but it is winter and that doesn't worry me. Its an old building so assume it will be cool in the summer. The breakfast was top notch, a little wait but that's because its all cooked fresh which is fantastic. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. If I was being critical, the only thing I would say is that behind the reception desk was quite messy and there was a big parcel on the floor in front of the desk. That is me being hugely critical and I probably caught them just after a delivery. I really like the hotel and will definitely be back, highly recommend.

Absolutely a perfect hotel for staying in Hungerford UK. The staff is remarkably friendly and helpful. The onsite restaurant was great with a good atmosphere. Only a 3 minute walk from the train station.

Lovely stay room in main hotel really comfortable. Room was very clean, and bathroom delightful with a bath. Bed very comfortable. Nice products in the bathroom, fan, iron and hair dryer in the room. Very pleasant stay. Staff are lovely and nice easy check in and out. Would highly recommend to eat there too, was really delicious in the evening Have not sampled breakfast due to early morning but would if staying longer. Parking is very close behind hotel easy to walk to.

Most of our stay at The Three Swans was quite positive altho suffered from lack of staff. There was one person serving breakfast on Saturday morning who, altho very efficient and calm, was obviously under pressure and the service was slow. The bedroom was too hot and noisy but the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, the room was not clean enough - lots of dust & cobwebs in evidence as was a dirty door in the bathroom.

We have stayed here a few times and it’s always clean and spotless, staff always helpful we always enjoy our stay here x

Very clean and charming hotel with very attentive staff, lovely food and drink

Initial impressions of The Swans was favourable as the young lady who booked us in was really friendly and helpful, the reception/bar area was nice and bright with modern decor. Then we got to the room. Unfortunately this is where things went downhill. Not only was the room unbearably hot with no ventilation as the windows could not be opened the cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired especially in the bathroom where dust and grime could be found on most surfaces. The top of the shower head was thick with filth I had to clean it before I took. Shower. The toilet seat was loose and the extractor fan is half hanging from the ceiling. Not back to the heat, a small fan which gave no breeze whatsoever is provided but gave no respite to the heat in the room which made sleeping pretty much impossible. There were goods points like the staff were all friendly and the restaurant food very good. However running out of ice and not having popular drinks listed on the drinks menu is poor bar management. The housekeeping was sadly not very good as the bed wasn’t made it was left as we tidied it up before going out. A glass I used was not cleaned and left where I put it plus only one replacement towel was left in the room, there were two of us. The young lady who checked us in sorted this out when reported to reception without fuss. Would we stay here again probably not but if in the area could possibly use the restaurant again.

Overall comfortable and slept well However under the bathroom sink was very dirty and required a good clean around where the drain went through

Staff are friendly to all, including our pooch. Room and bathroom were spacious and clean.

Staff were all very welcoming and very friendly from start to finish. Room sizes are small. Very overlooked by neighbouring properties. Bathroom windows had clear glass not frosted. Meant I had to be very cautious about showering and changing. Rooms are not air conditioned. It is not possible to lock the main door inside which mean room security only relies on the key operation from the outside. Very unusual by currrent hotel security standards. Otherwise room was clean and shower and toiletries all good. Refreshment tray well stocked. Shame the delivery van arrives at 7:30am trundling trollers across the cobbles.

Hotel is pleasant enough and the staff are super friendly. There is no parking attached to the hotel which I wish i had been notified of in advance you need to park in hungerford station which isnt far. Rooms are tired and not super clean thought it had flock wallpaper but wall was dusty, pillows were super thin and flat from over use. there was a fan in my room but wobbly and dirty with no remote. Otherwise linen and towels very clean, bathroom mostly clean bit grubby in places. Room was overall quite nice but too many doors in very tight corridors to get through which I guess they cannot help in an old building. Wi-fi was absolutely shocking. So would stay again but not at that room rate.

Enourmous bathroom and small room which was described as a suite. Booked two suites (one for family members) both a bit disappointingly small and gloomy.

I have been staying at this property regularly over the past 10 years. It is time for a makeover and upgrade to the bedrooms.

The hotel is olde world charming on the outside and smartly contemporary inside. Our room was comfortable and spacious spacious and the choice and quality of food for dinner was great. The only issue we had is that we couldn’t shut the sash window and our room was on the front. There is a bell tower opposite which chimes every 15 minutes until midnight and the morning traffic starts around 5.30. There was a secondary glazed window which did shut but all in all a quite a disturbed night. We did report it in the morning were advised it would be attended to but if you are a light sleeper I would suggest requesting a room at the rear. Overall though excellent value for money and very conveniently located for sightseeing in the area.

We booked an upgraded room specifically for the freestanding roll top bath in the room…. We had a dinner booked in the evening, after a days travelling, and a breakfast meeting. In the evening, there was no hot water. So no bath. We reported it that evening - and did the business dinner. The next morning, no hot water again. We reported it again, to be told it would be resolved in 4 hours. After the breakfast meeting, and after checkout. A real shame. The reason we booked the room, we couldn’t use at all. And no hot water, so no bath, no shower. Not the best way to go to meetings. Or to enjoy a birthday couple of days.

I’ve stayed here dozens of times and stayed in almost every room! Not room 108 though until last night ! There is an aircon unit in the archway beneath the room which was switching on and off all night and really disturbed my sleep!

Staying was good but when we checking out time 6aclock we was trying to hand over key no body was on the counter after looking everywhere we found the person outside smoking actually we was hurry to go So I m really nt happy with dis service and also if we filled up everything when we booked the room why the lady asked to give the account no again and also when we arived they delayed to give the key so I m really nt happy with dis service anyway thank u very much

It’s always nice t stay at the Three Swans. Clean and comfortable and rooms are very nice. Dinner menu is a bit limited. We stayed three nights and felt we could have had more choice. The food we ate was very good. Service for the food and refreshment was not so good. The first two days we were ignored because the staff were busy and then we were left waiting at the table because they forgot us. They tried to sit us next to a table with a dog, I find it unacceptable but my husband just walked out. However on the last day, things were totally different the staff were very pleasant, they were equally busy, if not busier, but they had it all under control. Very mixed review I’m afraid, but if the service is not so good then that does put you off.

Rooms were good. Staff were all inexperienced from Check in to getting a drink. Kept being told morning and night we had to wait for a manager who is apparently absent quite a lot. Need to invest in staff. Oh and theres barel no fish is the batter and chips and peas. Shame

Stop over en-route to holiday in Wales - Lovely hotel and surrounding area despite the weather. Staff helpful and well informed - very professional team - food good, rooms clean and decor delightful - Still not sure about £6 a pint but that's definitely down to Rachel in accounts. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel

The majority of the staff were phenomenal, however the GM was very abrupt and off ish on the first evening, saying that she had had complaints about noise (we were sitting outside) our nephew had joined us that evening before we left for Spain, and also found her rude. As my daughter is a local she was told that there were no complaints at all! May I suggest that the GM be sent on a customer service course and whilst she is away, the lovely Zoe (currently deputy GM) is promoted in her absence. The staff seemed so much happier when she was in charge!

Great location for visiting central southern England with the added bonus of being 1 hour by train to London from the station close to the Hotel. Good local shops and many great Pubs with first class Restaurants

A very nice hotel. Good food. Friendly staff. Some rooms can get traffic noise from the main road at the front and some of the back rooms apparently can get noise from drinkers on the back terrace in warm weather. Neither should be a problem in cool weather with windows closed.

The hotel room was absolutely lovely, thoroughly enjoyed the room itself. Food was very hit and miss. Supper of fish and chips was too costly for soggy batter so we ate elsewhere for the rest of the stay. Breakfast was hit and miss. No one explained the set up on our first morning, second morning everything was perfect except for running out of pastries, third morning, no one was around, no pastries put out, chef was smoking by the back door and glaring at the customers - all very ramshackle. Carpet on main stairway dirty and worn. Loose handrail outside. Such a shame as we had a wonderful time on our previous stay. The hotel is perfect for shopping and looking around the town

The staff on Reception were very helpful and welcoming. The staff behind the bar were very attentive and polite. The service and food in the restaurant area for Dinner was excellent. The room was spotlessly clean and parking was no issue. Can I fault my stay at the 3 Swans in Hungerford ? not at all. I would recommend staying there to anyone. My stay was perfect and I will be returning. I stayed recently in Oxford at a Hotel that was more expensive than the 3 Swans and it was appalling in every aspect. The 3 Swans is a great hotel, its very clean, the food is great and the Staff are all on their game. Well done to them

Really good stay, the staff and service was excellent. We ate a superb Sunday lunch and then on the second evening dined again for dinner, both were well presented and tasted great.

The fan in the room needed cleaning, the fan in the bathroom not working, cobwebs above the window pelmet, pillows were flat and need replacing. The room was clean with nice personal touches in the bathroom and a personal note on the bedside table. The staff were efficient and friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent.

An absolutely brilliant stay! Food was great value and the service was top tier!

Great location, Lovely hotel with friendly helpful staff, clean although it is an old building and therefore you shouldn't expect modern facilities, and floors are a little creaky and landings uneven. Food was great and quick service. Parking close by as well as a number of supermarkets. Only fault was bar stock availability as no Port, Tia Maria or Blackcurrant cordial available during weeks stay. We will stay here again.

Bedroom was beautifully decorated, spaciou and clean. Food choices was very limited and could be have been better. In the end l went out out of the hotel to find somewhere to eat. I was not impressed.

Excellent breakfast. Evening meals good quality and nicely presented. Rooms clean and well presented. Extremely good value. Only downside was 10% service charge for meals. ( However it seems common in Hungerford)
