I was given a very friendly greeting on check-in and again when I left (online checkout), Erin was helping someone check out while I was waiting to drop off my keys. She was friendly &apologetic with the guest checking out who brought up an issue of a front desk employee hanging up on her. The lobby smelled like smoke when I walked it but fortunately my room did not. For the low rate I paid I wasn’t at all surprised to see the hotel was dated and some fixtures were worn. I was very surprised at how dirty the room was. I know housekeeping staff is usually given an inadequate amount of time to clean but no one tried very hard to get this room clean. Brown smears of dried gunk on a light colored wall is something anyone can easily see. Blood droplets on the bathroom wall along with dried white lotion (at least I hope it was lotion) on either side of the bathroom door. There was also mold in the shower that someone tried to just caulk over. The vent fan in the bathroom probably hasn’t been cleaned in a year or two. Lots of other stains and miscellaneous grime . I realized if I asked for another room I’d probably get another dirty room so I purchased some cleaning products and cleaned the place myself before I took a shower.
