La Quinta by Wyndham Rochester Mayo Clinic Area South

I’ve stayed there twice now in the last few months. I go to the Mayo, I also have a small dog. Very friendly staff. I truly recommend this place. 😊❤️

The AC/Heat in our room was not working, we were late checking in and there were no maintenance staff available so we needed to be moved. The new room was nice except the sink drain stopper would not stay up. Overall the building is showing signs of wear. The breakfast was very simple, nothing special. Coffee was good and staff were helpful. The pool area was not something I would consider using, it did not appear clean or maintained.

For price was a great deal

Several items were not well stocked in the room (conditioner was empty, facial tissue had only one tissue left), the sink was missing it's stopper so I was worried I'd lose something down the drain, there was sand on one of the beds and a red stain on a bed skirt that looked like blood, the mini fridge froze all of my items so I could not drink my beverages, breakfast was very meh, the waffle batter dispenser was broken and the attendant was accusatory and rude to my friend. The pool was fun, but the shower handle was broken and both pool side bathrooms were out of order. Which meant you had to drip down the hall past the lobby or back to your room if you didn't want to pee in the pool. I'm guessing that pool water is extra tainted. The bed was comfortable, the inner sheets were clean, the soap smelled good, we felt safe, the price was cheap. This hotel needs a lot of TLC and we won't be staying here again when we come to Rochester. We picked this hotel because the price was excellently low with "good" (7/10) reviews, the reviews did not match our experience. I would rate this hotel 5/10.

Room is always clean! Distance to Mayo Clinic is reasonable. Pet friendly - which is huge!
