The manager was fantastic so friendly and helpful, the food was excellent atmosphere wonderful everyone made you feel at home The decor was done really nice,the bedroom very comfortable with stunning views I will return but would specify first floor as the stairs rather steep and no lift

We made a fairly last-minute booking to stay at the Hafod Hotel. The reviews were generally good, and we were looking forward to finding out for ourselves. The location is perfectly placed next to Devil’s Bridge. We had a valley-view king room, which had a beautiful view both day and night. There’s loads of parking; however, there is a short walk from there to the hotel. The room is high quality and includes everything you need for a comfortable stay. We booked on a bed, breakfast, and dinner basis, and we weren’t disappointed. There are plenty of options for the meals and the food was very tasty. The staff are friendly and well-turned out. A special mention for Charlotte, who looked after us in the evening; nothing was too much trouble, and she was charming and humorous. We’d highly recommend the hotel, and we will definitely be back.

Parking exactly outside the Hotel wasnt easy but there was a nearby overflow Car Park. Room was really nice, staff were exceptionally helpful and yhe food really nice. Bed was so comfortable and really enjoyed our stay here!

I had high hopes for the Hafod, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. What Went Wrong: Firstly - we booked a superior room which we expected to be of fairs size and a couple of days before check in I contacted the property to ask if we could be allocated a room with a bath tube they said they could accommodate this however when we checked in we were given a small box like room and the bathroom was very small and narrow to navigate. I couldn’t justify the money we spent. Secondly, the room had no air conditioning which is understandable but the room was unbearably hot even with the windows and shutter open, Lastly - we had night hopes for the bar and restaurant however we were left very disappointed there was no atmosphere and a very cold welcoming. When asked what time the bar was closing we were told 9:30. However at 10:00 when looking for a staff member we were told that all the staff are in the bar area having a drink which they were and we were made to feel intimidated to walk in as they had shut the door around them. Food was very disappointing the New York strip was inedible. Final Thoughts: I’m disappointed and hope this feedback helps others make an informed decision. I also hope the company considers making improvements to avoid similar issues in the future. Considering the money we spent on the room and food.

Best: The staff and service! Wide variety of food mostly very well done. Unique boutique hotel w/15 rooms. Nothing else comes close in the area. Cons: No lift (elevator) but that comes with a refurbished building this old. Renovations are continuing. Story: We decided to tour Wales by train so we didn’t have a car. Took the Rheidol steam train out from Aberystwyth which is a day/trip tourist train not normally used for regular commuting. They do have secured luggage storage for the trip though. Getting to the Hafod Hotel was little bit of a chore do to us having four bags.(some gravel and downhill). Packing small would be an advantage. Stayed three nights. The Devil’s Bridge area is beautiful with waterfalls being the highlight. Trekking through the two separate paths is not for the lighthearted….a bit of a workout but very rewarding! Talked to the staff about getting back up to the Rheidol station and one of them actually gave us and or bags a ride back up! Above and beyond! We gave him a separate tip. Overall the staff was excellent in attitude and service!

Staff very helpful, we were able to park nearby as the car park was a short walk away. Service excellent, food very good, great atmosphere. Would definitely stay again.

A fantastic hotel in a stunning location. The rooms were modern with ye-oldie charm. The food was delicious. The bar closed early and the road a bit noisy, but this was ok after my night nurse and vodka! Get the train to Aberystwyth if you really must go there.

Location was good. Very clean and modern. Staff happy and friendly. Breakfast and evening meals were slow. Maybe more busy than anticipated. Starters and desserts were very flavoursome. Mains were a let down both evenings during our stay.

The general hotel was excellant,very clean. Problem I had was there was no heating on in my room. I had to call staff to switch on which took az number of hours to wamrm/

Quirky and fab. Bit rough round the edges and needs a thorough clean! Our carpet was very stained and the bathroom had black mould. Lovely and super-young staff, great food, noisy kitchen - loud music and singing which was slightly weird. Overall a good experience.

Wonderful hotel, room was clean, we had a room which was facing onto the Valley, was nice, Staff so friendly & helpful,. We had nice evening meal in restaurant, good value for money. Definitely recommend this hotel to stay or to pop by for a bite to eat or some refreshments. Close to Stram train & Devils Bridge.

The whole place was spotless and all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. There was a wide choice of food and drinks on offer for dinner and the food was fantastic, as was the breakfast, which was freshly cooked.

Had a wonderful stay! Room Was clean the bar/restaurant was really good dinner was tasty staff were very attentive only slight thing is that breakfast wasn’t great mine and my partners eggs benedict were both cold and staff seemed a bit rushed in the morning so didn’t want to ask for fresh ones so we just left it. Other than that everything was prefect and we throughly enjoyed our stay.

Only stayed one out of the two nights booked, started off lovely room but then we went down for tea and an hour after my husband had eaten he was poorly all through the night. I went down as shrop doc wanted to come out but no one about. In the morning when I complained to manager she said that someone is in the hotel you have to ring their mobile and showed me a small sign which was not mentioned at check in, the hotel had a party as well on the first night and the mess in the morning was bad.

We absolutely loved our stay in Hafod Hotel! The interior was cosy and stylish, we had everything we needed in our room. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. It felt as if we were staying at someone’s house rather than a hotel. The food in the restaurant (breakfast & dinner) was delicious and there’s a great selection of meals to choose from. Our room was on the top floor facing the valley and we had an amazing view. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I‘d happily go back the next time I visit Wales!!

Fantastic location. A bit pricey but well worth it. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Excellent food and service. Electric heaters in the bedrooms are a challenge but ok once you work it out and essential because of huge gaps in the windows with freezing drafts being on top of the valley. Windows need an urgent refurb. Large car park that looks rough but is safe in this area. Short walk to stunning Devils Bridge falls and steam railway to Aberystwyth with stunning Rheidol Valley. Highly recommended for a short trip. Fab.

Loved the hotel ambience, friendly/efficient staff and room was warm, well equipped and comfortable. Bathroom was very warm and great shower in minus temperatures.View from 1st floor front window was picturesque and the dining room and breakfast rooms spacious and comfortable. Excellent stay, we will return. Breakfast and dinner ample and good standard. Perfect 2 night vacation.

What a beautiful hotel in a picturesque part of Wales. The room was gorgeous and overlooked the waterfalls in the distance. Food lovely and friendly staff.

I would like to extend a great thanks to the Hafod hotel. Close proximity to attractions, bedroom was lovely, cosy and warm, staff were absolutely impeccable I could not remember names but you all were very hospitable and love your job dearly and did a great service for any request we needed… I even left my bag and they kept it safe. Would come again.

We stayed for one night, lovely hotel and surroundings and staff friendly. My only negative was that I informed staff that our room did not have a remote control and they said they did not have a replacement so we could not watch tv. I later overheard in the restaurant another guest talking with staff about their tv not working and they got this replaced straight away. They seemed to know the staff member so maybe this was why they were treated differently.

Arrived after 8pm but phoned ahead and the manager arranged for food to be available for our arrival - very helpful and friendly!

We had a really lovely couple of days, service was fantastic everyone was so helpful and friendly. We will definitely book to stay here again.

Started off as a one night stay but enjoyed it very much and extended it another night. Lovely place in a fantastic and beautiful location. food was very good, especially on a Sunday when they do a fantastic roast dinner it’s a must if you get a chance. The service isn’t the fastest but have patience it’s worth it and I wasn’t in no rush.

Wonderfull! Devils Bridge and area is a must! Lovely walk to the falls just infront of the Hotel, and if a beautiful train ride through the mountains (1hour+/-) to Aberystwyth! The locomotive museum stunning! We have fond memories!

I cannot say enough about this wonderful hotel. Absolutely stunning property, could here the waterfall in the background. Warm and friendly environment. Amazing food, best meal of the trip.
