It’s expressive looking building and the lounges etc are beautiful but a bit tired looking. We had a large comfortable twin room with a sea view it was just a bit tired looking. We only had breakfast there and it suited us. We would certainly stay there again

Stayed 4 nights

Stayed for 4 nights midweek in June 2026 during the heat wave. Thought the room was lovely, spacious, top floor sea view, triple room. Could have done with air-conditioning for sure - they might need to consider this if our climate is going to get hotter! The wi-fi didn't work for me; not my phone's fault I believe, as it worked in all other venues I visited. This might be a problem for some but I had my book and the tv to keep me occupied when needed. The bath could do with a grab rail for those of us getting older and a slip mat. The shower over the bath, which ran off the taps, was tricky to get to the desirable temperature every time. Breakfast is buffet style, plenty of choice really, only £7.50 which is a bargain! The hotel could do with a small smoking area and an outside space but I guess the small parking area is more important to them. We found it easy enough to find a space to park within a few yards. Maybe not so in peak season.

Beautiful historical building but just a shame not really clean. Tired and had paint peeling off walls. For the price fair but if I hadn’t have had discount from hotels.com wouldn’t have been happy.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very tired. Furniture was worn and dirty. Front revolving door was so dirty your fingers would slip on the handrail and your reflection in the dirty glass window was blurry. The tablecloths in the diningroom had sun spots and green stains. You can tell the management was investing in the exterior with fresh paint but the interior needed excessive work
