This is a great hotel right inside the walls of the city, very close to the city center but away from the noise and crowds. They have a small parking lot and we were able to reserve a space, which was very convenient! The only small issue we had was that the air conditioning wasn't working, but the receptionist was easily able to fix it from their computer. Breakfast was also very nice.

Older, but very well maintained hotel in a very old city. Has European charm, with hardwood floors. The beds aren’t particularly comfortable (very stiff). Bicycles are available from the hotel free of charge and is a wonderful way to sightsee the city day or night. I would recommend this hotel if you are with car, but make sure you reserve parking space before arrival.

From check in to check out - it was wonderful. This building dates back to 1514 - yet it has every convenience. The breakfast was also outstanding. It is convenient, and has parking. I would stay again in a minute!

A smiling friendly welcome, spotlessly clean large room with a super comfy bed and a spacious bathroom with excellent big shower. What more do you need. Lovely property in the old town only a short walk from the railways station. Ideal for exploring or relaxing. Nice little bar on site to with a good selection of drinks including local artisan beers.

First impression was it had a musty smell in the foyer but room was not as bad. Checkin was rushed. Staff were not accomodating or friendly and not helpful at all in fact could be rude, especially a staff member at the bar. Room was very spacious. Cleaning was rushed, beds not done and floor was always dirty. Location was good just within the walls and easy to get around. Breakfast was excellent. For the price you pay would expect better staff who are happy to share information of their city.

Hardwood floors meant wilderbeest occupants of room above kept us awake at all hours; must be migration time. Breakfast plentiful with many good things (including Prosecco) but real juice is extra, very odd. Best to stick to Italian breakfast ingredients IMO. Lucca is very compact within the walls so nowhere is very far to walk but this is a well located hotel very close to the famous San Michele. It isn’t an “excellent” hotel in the luxury category but it is very competitively priced and good value.

The San Luca Palace is an older period property within the walls of Lucca. In some places it looks a little tired, but is clean and comfortable. I liked the location, and it was very easy to walk from here into the walled town - the town is very picturesque with lots of dining options. The bed was absolutely huge - I think it was 2 doubles together. Our room had an alcove with a small settee, and was comfortable.

This is a beautiful hotel in the inside city walls of Lucca. It is a 20 minute walk from the train station. Our room was spacious and clean. It was very quiet and the staff was excellent. Breakfast was included and had a huge selection.

I had a wonderful weekend in Lucca and I was very happy with San Luca Palace. I work online and for me the quality of wifi is the top importance and unfortunately quite often although the hotel website indicates they have wifi the quality would be very poor and I would not be able to do my work properly and would get anxious about it. Wifi was working very well, staff was helpful and the room was spacious. I look forward to being back to Lucca and staying in San Luca Palace. Thank you!

For what was supposed to be a 4 star hotel, it was very disappointing. The first morning when we went to have a shower the water was cold. We contacted reception and they said they would have to check that it was switched on. The internet was problematic. Every time we got back to the room and tried to access the internet we had to go through the login process again. The breakfast offering was good with a large range to choose from but sadly, if you weren't there in the first hour, it was not replenished and as a result the offer became quite small. We stayed in a hotel in Viareggio which ticked every box. This one did not.

The hotel is charming, the room is large and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom is large and well appointed. All the physical things are very good, but the real treat of this hotel is the staff: friendly, accommodating, helpful, and thoughtful. We had trouble finding the way into the city of Lucca and Roberto, from the hotel, guided us in and came out to the street to greet us. Wonderful welcome.

Great historical hotel with spacious rooms and nice furnishings/design. The concierge was lovely and the breakfast was spectacular. I got a great deal on a large room and would definitely stay there again when I’m in Lucca. I also liked the outdoor patio where you can people walk and just relax. Close to the city center and about a 17 minute walk from the train station. Shoutout to Leonardo at the front desk who was a gem.

A great place for 2 nights in Lucca. Just inside the city walls so easy access. Roberto at reception was so helpful firstly when our allotted parking space wasn’t accessible due to the way other guests had parked and when our departure flight was cancelled. He co tasted the car rental for us and called once we were on the road to let us know he had done so. Service 10/10.

This was an extremely easy property to find. The location is very close to the old city wall which is a walkable path. The staff was helpful, when we needed some food stored in a refrigerator. The kitchen staff provided a very nice breakfast daily with many options that suited both American and European tastes. Breakfast cappuccinos were delicious each day.
