Close to Queen St made it easy for my mum in law to get around, and close to parks and playgrounds made it great for my kids. The pool on level 5 was out of action.

Great location in Brisbane City, easy walk to shopping and heaps of eating options we were not able to use the outdoor pool due to building maintenance, which was a shame and not noted in website which would have been good to know when we booked we would stay here again

Location and staff friendliness are the stand outs! Property condition isnt great and definitely need an upgrade. Central cbd and night works around very near apartment makes it a bit noisy at night for a light sleeper. Pool/gym is situated at level 2 which is the car park 😅 such a weird spot and very small so I didnt bother with it. Overall for few nights stay is fine but if you are looking for luxury stay, this isnt it.

Decent location. Staff were friendly. View was decent. Room service available along with groceries on arrival if ordered (wasn’t aware of this when booking but probs would have used that service. Generally, the room was tired but everything worked and was maintained. Decent balcony. Biggest issue I had was the smell of drains. This was v strong and if we were staying for longer I would have requested something be done about it.

The location was central to everything and great food. The suite smelt musty and damp. The bathroom has water damage, mould in the shower cubicle and there was snot on the wall that a previous guest had wiped there and it had not been cleaned off by staff. The suite needed to be dusted in many places including the fire sprinklers, along the skirting boards and walls behind the door in the bathroom.

The location was great for exploring Brisbane CBD and South Bank. Our room was very old and run down. Didn’t feel very clean and had a horrible smell like old cigarette smoke. Now that we’re home I’m currently washing all of our clothes and struggling to get the smell out. The air conditioning vent was so dirty and coated in a thick dust so would have just been blowing dust into the room. The rest of the hotel seemed ok, the pool and gym etc. Not sure what the other rooms were like and if we just received a bad one.

All very good but with one shortcoming - the WiFi is very poor and sometimes unusable. I had to sit in reception to use it, but even there it cut out some of the time. This is probably only a problem for international visitors who cannot use mobile data. For Australians this property should be good.

I have used various oaks aparthotels throughout Brisbane - this feels probably the oldest of them all. It has residential floors as well as guest floors - but as it is a tower building there are only 4 lifts that operate and they are often being serviced which makes not for a quick exit in the morning. As with all hotels in the CBD - its busy and noisy especially as this one is very close to cross river rail project. The rooms as becoming tired and could do with a fresh lick of paint - otherwise clean and comfortable and well set up for business travellers.

We stay at Oaks all the time and have never had a problem and always enjoyed our stays until now… firstly parking is a nightmare in this area. I tried to book a car park prior to our arrival only to be told there was a system error and they could not book one for us and then rudely hung up on. On arrival staff were not very friendly and would not allow us to leave our stuff as we weren’t allowed to check in yet, so we had to haul our stuff from 2 streets away! In checking into our room I noticed water all over the bathroom floor only to discover our toilet was leaking all over the bathroom floor and onto the carpet. We immediately called reception and we’re told someone would be up to check it out. Half an hour later a girl came and turned the toilet tap off, to which I said so we can’t use the toilet? Her reply was oh, will have to see if there’s a spare room but we’re fully booked out tonight so let me get back to you 😑 we waited another half an hour and missed our dinner reservations to be told there moving us to another room however it had just been carpet cleaned and smelt very strong of fumes! Facilities were ok but definitely geared towards a business trip rather then a leisure trip. Elevators were also a nightmare, took us 20mins to get to reception cause they were constantly full of people. We were not compensated for our very below average stay and will not be staying here again!
