The Falls Of Dochart Inn

This place should be on your short list of places to stay in the area!! I learned from talking to the young lady that worked there that the building itself was 600-800 years old. It was well maintained while keeping it's old world charm. We slept with the windows opened and could hear the falls across the street all night. My wife enjoyed a long hot bath in the claw foot bathtub in the room. If you eat dinner there, go for the smoked salmon linguine. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. I want to stay there again when I have more time to explore the area. I 10/10 can't recommend this place enough!

The place was very quaint with friendly staff. The room was nice however quite a few cobwebs on the four poster bed with some tired looking duvet covers and pillows. The bathroom tile around the toilet could have been cleaner. We also had a sizable resident spider in the bathroom we named Hairy Harry.

We had an excellent stay in the Fall of Dochart Inn. The location is stunning. The food was excellent and there was a great selection of beer and whiskey. The bedroom was very comfortable and clean; l can fully recommend the four poster room. The staff were efficient, although the restaurant waiting staff need to learn some finesse. The staff in general need to smile more and work on their interpersonal skills with the guests. We will definitely be back though.

Family of four arrived at around quarter to six on the day of our stay. Checked in at the bar and were shown to a room. The bar had some people eating but wasn’t too busy. We were asked if we wanted to eat and when and we said in ten minutes so at six and we were told that’s fine just pop down and they would sort it out. There were several sizeable empty tables. Came down at six and asked about the table but were told they were busy and outside was the only option there were still empty tables. After realising it was a bit chilly we decided to try our luck elsewhere and had a great meal at a pub up the road. When we came back to the Falls later that evening there were still several large empty tables in the bar! Room was ok a bit rough around the edges but suitable and passable. Breakfast which had to be ordered upon arrival the night before was another disappointment. There were three fixed options, cereal and toast was also available. The tea we were served was cold, we asked for water (just tap would have been fine) we were told it would be brought out but never was. Milk was supplied for hot drinks in small bottles, we never received one so resorted to filling a glass from the jug for cereal and using that. The waitress saw this but there was no apology or recognition of it. Overall it was disappointing and it felt like if that staff were more interested it could have been a pleasant stay.

Breakfast was good, fresh food tasted very nice. Bar stocked well but very experience for soft or alcoholic drinks.
