The English skills of the staff were quite low, it wasn't easy to communicate with them. My room didn't have any tissue. Some machines in the gym were left broken. All of the above is unacceptable for this class of hotel.

The hotel has an amazing view but it is getting old. First you can hear almost everything from the other rooms. Walls are like cardboards. THAT is absolutely unacceptable at that price point. The pool was disgusting with hundreds (literally) of dead bugs in it. The restaurant, El Torreon, is extremely overpriced and the service is bad. The hotel has a lot of potential due to its location but it is not (no longer?) 4 stars. The pool needs to be cleaned more often and the guy responsible for it and for handing the towels should do his job and stop texting on his cell. The restaurant should be completely changed: better portions, better deserts, lower prices and better service. Definitely overpriced overall. But the view is great…

I was VERY VERY disappointed on arriving at the Hotel to discover that the swimming pool was not in use. I only booked this hotel because it HAD a swimming pool. I would NOT have booked this hotel if I had known the pool was not in use. What have you got to say? I hope for some compensation.

We did not realize there was an amusement park outside the hotel but the furnicular was an amazing bonus to help us get down into town. The views from the hotel are absolutely stunning and the pool deck is likely the most picturesque pool scene we have ever enjoyed!

Une très belle vue depuis la Terasse, la piscine et le restaurant de l’hôtel. Une piscine belle et bien entretenue. Mais des chambres avec des installations et une décoration vieillissante. Spectacular view and location. The funicular takes you to the beach and if you love to walk, like we do, you can explore the old city. The room was comfortable. We wanted to swim some laps so we were disappointed the oook was closed in the overcast weather. We had dinner in the bar. The food was good but the staff overwhelmed and service was slow. The house wine by the glass was disappointing given all the great wines in Spain.

Beautiful hotel in prime view location with very nicely decorated rooms. Due to good weather they kept the pool open during our stay. Phenomenal views and quality loungers on the roof deck. A few of the staff were a bit brusque and we waited a long time for service at the bar when we first arrived. Room soundproofing left something to be desired. Opportunity to enable making a cup of tea in room not just pod coffee. Breakfast buffet steep at EUR 24pp

Amazing view – totally worth it! The room was a bit dusty on arrival, but otherwise clean and comfortable. Room facilities were excellent and well-maintained. 1 heure, montre en main, d'attente à la réception pour le check-in alors que la chambre était réservée...jamais vécu ça ! Une personne supplémentaire à la réception aurait été bienvenue. Chambre au 2ème étage avec une vue magnifique. Literie très confortable mais le parquet aurait eu besoin d'un coup d'aspirateur! Salle de bains spacieuse mais pas de surface suffisante pour poser une trousse de toilette...distributeur de savon de la douche vide, ce dont on se rend compte forcément trop tard. Bon petit-déjeuner dans une salle qui offre une vue panoramique sur l'océan et la baie de San Sebastian. En résumé, hôtel à recommander pour son site exceptionnel...mais peut mieux faire au niveau de l'organisation du service.

Point positif : Nous avons eu une très belle vue depuis notre chambre. Présence d'un bar et d'une bouilloire très appréciable. Shampoing, après shampooing et lait pour le corps de qualité. Chambre propre . Point négatif : chambre mal isolée , on a eu l'impression que nos voisins du dessus ont déménagé jusqu' à minuit. vieilles couvertures. Mon mari a eu froid. Deux lits jumeaux côte à côte au lieu d'un seul lit double , on déteste ça. Dommage pour un 4 étoiles.

Strange man at barrier entrance, not in any form of uniform and wanted to see our hotel booking confirmation - didn’t explain why. Made us feel uncomfortable. Reception staff not very welcoming. Bath wasn’t clean - found hairs floating in the bath I had run. Bar food was terrible and overpriced. The hotel views are absolutely amazing and the bar seating area is beautiful. Breakfast was lovely with great views but wouldn’t stay again. Very isolated if you want to explore on foot.

I was really disappointed with the quality and cleanliness of the room. White towels and bed sheets were marked and I had ask for the sheets to be changed bc there was brown staining all around the edge. I had to ask twice and it was only done after I showed the receptionist in person. The room and bathroom were very tired and need significant updating with marks all over the walls. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly either as there were waxy make up marks in and around the sink which I tried to clean myself with some hand sanitizer. The pool area and and bar area were lovely and the views from the hotel were stunning. Sadly, neither of these made up for a dirty and tired room. Overall I expected better from a Mercure hotel.

Do not stay there! The rooms were filthy. Dust all over the room. Dirty cleaning water marks on the walls and the staff didn’t seem to care when I went down to receipt to inform them of the state of the room nor when I showed them the photos. Also there was no hot water in the morning!

Air conditioning does not operate until June. It’s 80*f in room. No fan possible. They advertise pool- it’s closed “until summer”. False advertising, there is no mention pool and air conditioning not available for our stay. Restaurant average, served wrong dishes. Hotel has amazing views!!!!

We were so unfortunate that we had a room with a door to the next room which was not even close to airtight. That meant, that when the other room went to the bathroom we could hear it. Not good enough for a hotel at this standard. The pool and view is stunning. But it can’t take away, that we were forced to wake up late during the night several times because of the connecting door wasn’t insulated properly. Furthermore we were placed right outside the water mill powering the boat ride, which was quite noisy during the day. Very good breakfast. All in all an ups and downs. But very disappointed about the downs, when you have a hotel at this starsard with an above average price point.

Beautiful view from the hotel. Hotel is a little dated and the electrical system is tricky. Our devices didn’t charge all night because we didn’t have the right switch on that controls all the outlets and lights. Also, you might want to bring your own hairdryer as you basically have to straddle the toilet to use it with its short cord and it keeps shutting off when it gets hot.

Nous avons vécu un très agréable séjour dans cet hôtel! Les chambres sont spacieuses, la literie est impeccable, le linge de lit de qualité... Et la vue depuis le balcon est exceptionnelle! Seul bémol, qui revient dans beaucoup de commentaires et que je confirme, c'est la vétusté de la salle de bain. Une baignoire très peu pratique, une barre de douche branleballante, peu digne du standing de l'hôtel.
Nous avons vécu un très agréable séjour dans cet hôtel! Les chambres sont spacieuses, la literie est impeccable, le linge de lit de qualité... Et la vue depuis le balcon est exceptionnelle! Seul bémol, qui revient dans beaucoup de commentaires et que je confirme, c'est la vétusté de la salle de bain. Très bon accueil et qualité des services Très bel emplacement Par contre notre nuit a été gâchée à cause de la mauvaise insonorisation de la chambre surtout par le plafond car les occupants de l’étage au dessus ont été très bruyants de 22h à 2h du matin N’avons pratiquement pas dormi de la nuit !!!!

I arrived and was largely ignored while the front desk just chatted with each other on Spanish I had no idea what I was waiting for. The room smelled when I walked in, the aircon didn’t work. I tried opening the window but it still wouldn’t get rid of the smell. The service at the bar was the worst service I’ve ever encountered and that was by two different bar tenders. I was also parked in and when I tried to ask for help I was ignored by parking attendants that let people in and just told that they don’t speak English I couldn’t get out. I only stayed one night and then left, the basics of a hotel. The price and rating of the hotel doesn’t match it at all.

The location of the hotel is stunning (on top of a hill overlooking the Atlantic and the town) and the rooftop pool has great views. The inside bar and lounge is lovely with great views of the Atlantic. The views make it. Everything else was good. The restaurant is very good. The service was slow at times. Sometime there weren’t enough staff when the hotel was busy and you had to wait a long time and sometimes orders were very delayed or there were no clean tables at breakfast.

Arriving at the Hotels lobby checking in, there were a que and just one receptionist. A young receptionist came rushing in to help, and starting shouting at the guest to take it easy. (not a good start) We had paid for a Privilege room, but several facilities were missing in the room. No slippers, No bathrobe, No espresso machine. Further more they write soundproof doors, which is a big lie. We could here the nabo's loud and clear. The general service at the hotel is way below standards, specially considering the 4 stars they have. The bar service slow, the waiters have attitude, the pool Guy arrogant and slepping at his post. Apart from the amassing views and beautiful locations, the hotel does not live up to there 4 stars.

O quarto é bem amplo, limpo e com vista linda da Bahia. É bem no alto do morro. Para ir à cidade, tem que ser de carro ou descer com o funicular que custa 2,50 euros ida e volta e caminhar pela cidade. Não foi problema para nós. O atendimento não acho ser o ideal, nem uma cafeteira elétrica disponibilizaram, mesmo eu solicitando. Mas no geral é um hotel muito bom.

Outstanding view of the bay from Monte Igueldo. You can easily take the funicular to the lower city and walk the promenade or take a bus right to the old town. We usually walked in and bussed back.

Jag har tittat på detta hotell många gånger och bokade äntligen. Dock har jag aldrig sett att det var en nöjespark precis breve och runt hotellet. Vi tog ett billigt rum så varje gång de körde bergochdalbanan så skrek folk precis utanför fönstret. En fantastisk utsikt över staden och vinbaren var mycket trevlig. Men utsikten är det som var bäst.

Excellent stay at Mercure San Sebastián. Pick this hotel because it was a respite from city centers during our travels. It gave you an excellent resort feel. The views and panoramic location was gorgeous. It was quite difficult though to get down to the town as the pannicular does not start till 1030 and it ends at 8:30 so we needed to rely on taxis of which they took minimum of 10 to 15 minutes to get up to the hill and sometimes many people were waiting ahead of us. The walk down or up is on a very curved road with steep incline and little protection from cars, therefore we did not walk and the path was quite long. Otherwise, we are very happy with our stay.

The hotel has an amazing view but it is getting old. First you can hear almost everything from the other rooms. Walls are like cardboards. THAT is absolutely unacceptable at that price point. The pool was disgusting with hundreds (literally) of dead bugs in it. The restaurant, El Torreon, is extremely overpriced and the service is bad. The hotel has a lot of potential due to its location but it is not (no longer?) 4 stars. The pool needs to be cleaned more often and the guy responsible for it and for handing the towels should do his job and stop texting on his cell. The restaurant should be completely changed: better portions, better deserts, lower prices and better service. Definitely overpriced overall. But the view is great…

I stood at the bar for 20 minutes before walking away with nothing but irritation one evening. At the time, there were only a handful of other people standing at the bar and 3 staff behind the bar who couldn’t seem to get out of each other’s way. The bar snack menu was extremely limited and when we ordered and it came out, the volume and presentation of the food was extremely underwhelming to say the least. The hotel is very secluded so there either needs to be a more a comprehensive menu with more efficient and competent staff or just have vending machines in the foyer. The room was comfortable and clean and the view from the balcony was lovely.

Spectacular view and location. The funicular takes you to the beach and if you love to walk, like we do, you can explore the old city. The room was comfortable. We wanted to swim some laps so we were disappointed the oook was closed in the overcast weather. We had dinner in the bar. The food was good but the staff overwhelmed and service was slow. The house wine by the glass was disappointing given all the great wines in Spain.
