Excellent views, very convenient location, good parking and accessibility

Great location. Good food. Rather creaky floors and stairs so if you're a light sleeper could be annoying. No Ev charging point.

Large hotel very convenient for the Mountain railway in Llanberis. Plenty of parking at front of hotel. Our room took a bit of finding and as we were on the third floor, and involved walking along corridors and two separate lifts, and we nearly learnt how to get there and back at the end of our two day stay! We felt that signage could have been a bit clearer, as could directions from reception. Our room was beautiful - clean, and the bed huge and comfortable. The view from our window over the mountains was stunning. Breakfast was good, although maybe a little unimaginative? The full Welsh breakfast was well cooked. The view from the conservatory section of the dining room over the garden and lake beyond was gorgeous. We didn't want to go home!

What a lovely place - pleasant staff, easy check in, clean room.. breakfast was tasty with a view and we were able to leave the car there to go on the snowdon train on check out day.. convenient location… well recommended

It’s a little tired. Reception really smells of fish from the restaurant. There is loads of rubbish on display behind reception and the carpet is very worn. So first impressions are poor. Room not much better and mattress was tired. Bar staff seem very stressed! Food good, breakfast was ok. Overall just a tired hotel that needs updating. It felt like a high class hostel. Oh, drying room does not dry anything! Location is perfect for climbing Snowden.

Situated in a stunning location. The hotel was easy to find and had ample parking. Check in was quick and efficient. We booked this hotel as we were taking part in a 1am Snowdon walk. It was literally two minute walk to the Snowdon train station, which was our meeting point. The village with shops and restaurants was only a few minutes walk away. Our room was clean and comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed. The breakfast was good and much appreciated after a night hike. Looking to return for a couple of days to relax and to explore the area a little more.

Very convenient hotel for walking the Llanberis path. Great garden bar and the food in the restaurant is excellent. Staff very friendly and our room was pretty modern looking. Only slight negative is wobbly taps in the bathroom and it's a bit of a maze getting to the third floor. But would stay here again. 5 minutes walk to train up Mt Snowden and bus stop to other paths up the hill. Excellent example of a round tower behind the hotel and a scenic lake to have a swim in behind the bus stop.

Nice clean and comfortable room. Lovely breakfast. Plenty of parking with just a short walk to get into Llanberis.

The hotel was nice, the breakfast was lovely. Unfortunately the bar was very expensive for a round of drinks.

Stayed for a couple of days to see snowdonia. The positives- staff were attentive at reception and the bar. The bar lounge is clean and the food was good. The hotel is brilliantly located for the llanberis path up snowdon. Negatives- we stayed in the coach house and it really needs some love. The rooms looked recently renovated and were fine. Although the cleaning needed a little more care (hairs in the loo and sink). The hallway needed redecorating and was run down. Biggest issue was that the walls were paper thin. We had guests above us and their child was running laps. It felt like they may come through the floor. The floors creaked whenever people were in other rooms. The room next door closed their door and our bed shook. I did not have good sleep for any night we stayed because of this. Breakfast was a bit mediocre. Sausages were not pleasant and far below a premier inn. The main issue was how loud the rooms were. It would greatly benefit from having the upper coach house rooms having their floors boarded and better insulation.

We booked a twin room but when we checked in it was a double. They changed it. Cleanliness was OK but with lots of harvester spiders and cobwebs in the 'dark corners'. The window would not close properly - we reported it when we left.

Great location, fascinating history, let down as room smelled funky and the sink wasnt cleaned properly- toothpaste on taps and mirrors not polished. Tea coffee caddy unclean. Clean bedding. Great breakfast

My room was clean however the paint was flaking off above the shower and on the bathroom window. More of a matinence thing than cleanliness but I deducted a star for this. Cobweb in bathroom window, and fibres on the carpet that stuck to some velcro. The distance from the bed to the nearest 2 sockets was a bit of a issue I need to wear a CPAP therapy machine. There was no sweetener in the tea and coffee facilities in my room, however there was at breakfast I don't know if this was just an oversight or if they don't routinely put them in the rooms. Breakfast was good with a good range of Gluten free food including GF cereal, GF bread and dairy free milk. Cooked breakfast also available the way they serve their jam leaves it open to cross contamination from people touching their bread with the spoon. I would suggest little tubs?

Hotel was very clean but was let down by the food. Breakfast was very good, bar meals basic but overpriced. A bad experience in the restaurant left us very disappointed. One member of party had a steak that was very tough & inedible, he was offered a replacement but it had put him off eating, apart from the waitress no one bothered to come to the table to apologise or discuss options and we were charged for the meal. Felt sorry for poor waitress who was left to deal with the situation. Should not have been charged for this and chef or manager should have come to the table. Drinks in the bar are also very overpriced

Room was not cleaned prior to check in. Dirt everywhere with unclean carpets, toilet and dated decor. I think a part of the mess was that they only clean your room when you ask, so rooms are not cleaned often. Shower did not work as hot water was not working. Walls were paper thin, so lots of noise overnight. Paid a lot to stay here in my opinion too. Breakfast was good and staff were nice but aside from the location the property offers very little.

The location was excellent for the mountain railway. Very busy at breakfast, but the food was good. Attention to detail in the room cleaning, window open and very thick layer of dust and grime around it, also the bathroom fan runs 24/7!

To start with the positive, the staff were generally nice and very helpful, but beyond the front desk, they could smile more. None looked like they were enjoying it! The room (201) was fine albeit small and nicely decorated, the issues were the noise of the kitchen extractor and the dirtiness. We were told this was due to the steam trains, really? Surely if this were true they'd ensure it was cleaned more!! Anyway the room is the other side of the hotel so we don't buy that. Lastly, food. Was just ok. Breakfast is good but served through a small hatch. Being so large a restaurant this led to queues and obstructed access and/or the coffee machine, surely it can be positioned better? Overall was ok, but for the price, it could be better. That said if you want to hike up Snowdon, this is very convenient and Llanberis is nice

The room needed sprucing up . Wall behind bed needed painting along with the bathroom door . Taps had parts missing and sink was cracked . Rubber bathmat needed replacing . Location was good .

The Hotel is at a great area, everything pretty much walkable. The hotel itself is extremely outdated and needs to be updated in order to charge as much as they do. The room I was staying in was horrible small, barely any room to walk. The walls were extremely thin, literally can hear everything. The whole room shakes when someone will slam the door. The mattress is worn and the pillows are so thin. For someone with back issues, probably not the place to stay. I booked this room including breakfast, but I would have not paid 18 pounds for the selection they had.

Super property but only issue we had was the room temperature. So hot. Heating was not on in the room but was in the bathroom. Even with the window open didn't make much of a difference. What it would be like in the summer!

Great hotel, fantastic staff, the Fish&Chips probably the best I had, Quick service and a pleasant stay. But the single room was quiet Frankfurt too small, even by British standards and the bed just not good enough for such a hotel.

Surrounding area is perfect and great natural spot. Room was clean but few odd bits which could have been better. Walls were thin but other than that great place, and breakfast.

The mattress was old and lumpy, and the gutters need repairing to prevent the sound of rain coming down sounding like someone urinating outside window. The bathroom although big, was a bit grubby and it was impossible to get the temperature right in the shower. On the plus side, the food was excellent!

Nice hotel, great location next to Snowdon Mountain Railway. Good food. Our room was a bit small, and the only window faced into an enclosed "courtyard", with the boiler/extractor located just outside. The window didn't open making it feel more enclosed.

My room was clean and comfortable. The WiFi is poor but maybe because I was in a far room. Nice breakfast, will stay again.

The room was nice enough, I think the bathroom could do with some tlc but not dirty just a bit of updating as looks old fixtures

I have stayed at the Royal Victoria Hotel on a few previous occasions over the past 15 years. I was really looking forward to returning - and as soon as I walked in I felt good about being back. And I wasn't let down in my expectations- the check in was pleasant and easy and when we got to the room we we were really impressed with the space and mountain view (first time I had tried the 'executive' room option - it was worth it) We dined at the bar restaurant that evening and the food was good, and again the staff very pleasant. Breakfast next day was busy as a coach load of departing guest seemed to be bustling to eat up quickly - but even so, the staff did a good job of keeping everyone happy and served on time. We stayed at breakfast a bit longer and enjoyed a slower breakfast and thought the food was very nice - especially the quality of the bread. We chatted to the staff a bit too - who were all very friendly. In all - I consider that for the very fair price asked for a nights stay, that the hotel provides a really very pleasant experience for staying in the area. Absolutely would plan to return some day.

Made very welcome staff very friendly. Although the lift wasn’t working the staff carried our cases for us. Very near all attractions . Beautiful scenery from the bedroom

I arrived several hours before check-in & was allowed to park on site early. I stayed the night before a big race and had to be up at 3am. As there were a number of guests doing the same race, the Hotel laid on a special continental breakfast for us from 2am - 4am, which was really thoughtful of them, and very much appreciated. Room, cleanliness, quietness was all great.

Second time I’ve stayed here and love it every time. It’s so close to the mountain and has lots of exploring in the area. We stayed for the 2am hike up snowdon. Don’t delay book today.

Excellent location for exploring Llanberis and nearby area. Close to start of walk up Snowdon, the steam trains, the Ceunant Mawr waterfall, Dolbadarn Castle, Padarn Country Park and the Slate museum. Good breakfast choices and the meals in the bar were all excellent but pricey. Hotel bit dated and bit of a maze finding room/lifts/stairs. Large, clean, quiet room with nice view of surrounding mountains. Very comfortable bed. Creaky floorboards! Bathroom a bit small but decent shower.

So generally hotel was ok as far as room went , and staff very friendly and helpful , the let down for me was the very bland tasting breakfast , been away quite a lot this year , and it was by far the worst breakfast we have had , think it’s just cheap ingredients they are buying , resulting in a bland experience when eating it , shame !

Hotel was great location to hiking Snowdon. We did the Yr Wuddfa (up miners, back on pyg) and hotel was only short drive. Room was large and clean. Breakfast was buffet and had beautiful sun atrium. Not sure why ratings for this hotel aren’t higher. Great location to train up mountain, right across the street. Hotel restaurant was good, recommend the curry chicken and pints were amazing
