Room was clean and we had it made up between the 2 nights there. Went to use the pool and hot tub one evening, pool area was filthy, debris everywhere and muddy floors. Floors were soaked, puddles everywhere . No towels. The hot tub resembled a swamp and apparently was out of order but no signs were up stating so, only told that after we complained at front desk. One of the 2 TVs in our suite didn’t work. Suite VERY overpriced for what it was. Dated bathtub shower combo. Parking lot very small for larger trucks.

Needs a major update especially with the sister hotel now next door. Pool wasn’t working when we were there which wasn’t told to us at check in and allowed us to walk by the front desk in our bathing suits until we arrived all the way down to the pool to realize it had been closed since before we even checked in which wasn’t made aware to us.

The room had carpet stains and dirty walls. Elevator was broken no signs, desk staff did not warn us. OTIS elevator repairman stopped us from getting on elevator when he arrived. Pool was out of service for both days of our stay. Supposed to have coffee service in lobby, only there one day. Entire hotel was dirty and dingy. Would not return.

I waited 15 minutes at the desk before I was able to check in. There was no one available. Once he walked up he didn't acknowledge us. Also, althought the pillows were clean they were covered in long brown hair. I shouldnt of had to clean the bed 9f haor before laying down. I had a long drive from ND and was ready to go to sleep.

Yikes. The rooms are old and terribly outdated. Wall air conditioners and tvs are plugged in via a maze of extension cords and power bars. The carpets are filthy. The jets in the hot tub don't work - and my god, the stairwell to the pool? Make sure you bring shoes. And maybe a hazmat suit.

Room was OK, the sink stunk though-- like the pipes were rotting probably something that needs fixing, water was also yellowish coming out. Pool area was filthy when we went there about 9:30-- I'm guessing from previous night, there were cups and soaking wet towels all over that we wound up cleaning up ourselves, yuck. The pool opens early so I'm surprised no staff had it cleaned up earlier.

Our door didn’t close properly, pool was a disappointment. One of the main draws was the pool and hot tub (another was that the room slept 6), but the hot tub was out of service and there was no seating around the pool to sit and watch the kids swim. The hotel graciously offered to let us go use the pool at the Sandman Signature next door when we went to ask about the hot tub at the front desk. Our room was neat and tidy, however the air conditioning unit still had enough cold air from outside blowing in that the bathing suit sitting on it was frozen solid in the morning! The people sleeping on that side of the room were cold. The staff were very friendly.

Close proximity to polo park and restaurants. 2 restaurants on-site too in Dennys & Chop. Bad part is rooms not soundproofed very well. Woken up early both mornings with people walking around upstairs. Was 5 rooms away from elevators but could hear them aswell as people making noise in the corridors

So excellent! The ladies at the front desk provided exceptional customer service. Got me from the airport fast and got me checked in early - what a gift after a long day of travel. Even asked me how my stay was going when I was in the lobby. I will stay here every time now. I am so impressed.

Overall the room was amazing. It’s asking for our room to be clean was poorly serviced. Had to phone twice and we were gone all day thinking we were going to a clean room. Once came, cleaning lady with attitude ask us to leave if we want our room clean. We were gone all day, and to leave again when we were tired. Not impressed at all

Worst experience ever. Spent 3 nights. Pool area closed after our first night . NO housekeeping services at all. Room was not made up or cleaned and no fresh towels for our entire stay. When I complained at the front desk I was told they could offer me a Denny’s voucher. Wow! Just Wow! Was not acceptable. Never staying there again.

We chose the Sandman because of its proximity the car dealership where our car was being serviced. This hotel is very helpful and accommodating to some of the more unusual requests made of it. It’s close to the airport so is convenient for that but often has no vacancy for that reason. It’s clean and quiet. The beds are comfortable. Only one of the two elevators requires a keycard to access guest areas which lowers the guest security. It would be nice to have that option working in both elevators rather than just one. There are two restaurants on the property so no difficulty finding a meal. Denny’s is open 24 hours daily as well. Room service is offered but I didn’t use that service.

Place is big, rooms are clean and there’s always staff around to help you out, they do not provide breakfast, coffee, they will send you to the restaurant in site. Would be nice if they tell you from start where gym, pool and other things are or a mini map because it was a forever search

The hotel is nice. The Chop steakhouse is a very nice restaurant. If you can get the happy hour special, the prices are very reasonable and great staff. The Denny's seemed expensive for what I remember a Denny's being, but it's been a while since I visited another Canadian one. The hotel part was a bit disappointing compared to a cheaper and lower rated hotel I stayed at in Winnipeg 2 weeks prior. The room at Sandman was smaller than Travel Lodge and Sandman would not allow us to bring our bicycles inside for safe storage to the room. They did offer to put them in the luggage storage, but said that room was quite small. I was able to back my vehicle into a bush near the parking lot to hide the bikes a bit, and they were locked to the vehicle. We had no issues with theft, but I chalk that up to luck. It is always risky travelling with expensive mountain bikes. The bathroom and HVAC in our room was also a let down. Considering the extra cost over the Travelodge, the TL had a nicer and bigger bathroom with better shower pressure as well as a quieter PTAC (Packaged Terminal Air Conditioning) unit.
