Rosslea Hall Hotel

Staff very friendly. Really good with dogs, provided a bed snd bowls and breakfast for dogs. Rooms clean but do need upgrading especially the bathroom. Parking grwst and safe, electric chargers available

I stayed in the Rosslea as I was attending a business meeting the next day. Firstly I was on the 3rd floor and there is no lift so if you have mobility issues could be an issue. The room itself was adequate but would benefit from a revamp. The tv was ancient but perfectly useable. The bed was 2 pushed together so was a little strange when sleeping. The breakfast was really good and was included with the stay. Overall I had a pleasant stay.

Bar could have been better stocked - staff had to keep leaving to go & get supplies from elsewhere. Car park was fine - plenty of spaces. Staff were lovely. Everyone we spoke to was helpful and friendly.

I like the clean rooms, reasonable pricing, free parking provided at this hotel.

I've been fortunate to stay in a lot of 4* hotels with work and this was not one of them, unfortunately. There was no concierge at check-in to help with bags and no lift, so we had to carry our bags up to the 3rd floor. Fine for us, but not if you struggle with stairs. Whilst the food in the restaurant was tasty, service was slow as there was only 1 person taking orders and serving, as well as clearing up. The bedroom was dark, despite having 2 windows. There were no complimentary toiletries, the milk was UHT pots, there were no complimentary bottles of water and no mini fridge, although there were packs of biscuits. You couldn't sleep with the windows open if your room is at the back, as ours was, because the bell at the church seemed to sound every 15 mins throughout the night, which we weren't told about. As for the bed - terrible. The mattress was hard and had a hard ridge in the middle due to the base being 2 twin bases which were held together by a metal link that was also broken, although my partner bodged it back together. The shower was good - no issues with pressure although hard to get the right pressure which was comfortable to use at 1st. Breakfast was ok - plates were cold on the 1st day so the food cooled quickly. The toaster was a serve yourself, the jam was in large pots and not individual pots on the tables. Tea /coffee was self-service and the choice for cereal and pastries was limited, especially the pastries if you went for a later breakfast. Not great.

Then the Heverley wouldn’t work, I finally got the worst pint of Tennents ever after about 10 minutes of trying. Again, not the staffs fault but the management/owners. I feel the staff are trying to do the best they can with the tools they have, I generally felt sorry for them… The food was very basic, the whole place needs refurbishing in my opinion. Rooms are tired and generally unclean, I couldn’t wait to check out in the morning. I skipped breakfast, no prizes as to why. Definitely won’t be returning, stay well clear of this one!

Bathroom shower was full of mold in the grouting and around the edge of the tub. We stayed on the third floor and there is no lift.

Excellent clean large rooms with amenities, Bed was comfortable, Dinner and breakfast at the on-site restaurant was exceptional. Large parking space in front of the hotel made it very convenient.

On site parking (EV charging available). Nice spacious and clean room with a comfortable bed. Great food both in the evening and for breakfast…

A great hotel with super friendly staff who give a good service. The food was tasty and had some great Scottish dishes including breakfast and other meals. We took our Labrador dog who was made a fuss of and was given treats and a sausage at breakfast. Location is good for theTrossachs and Loch Lomond. Plenty to do in the area and only 90 mins away via a scenic and often stunning route from by car from Glencoe and all its majesty. We would recommend this hotel to families, couples and singles who want a taste of the magic of Scotland.

The hotel review rating is overrated in my opinion. The hallway to our room smelled aweful. The carpet in the room was stained a lot and seemed not been vacuumed. There were dark hair on the bedding and pillow. The restroom had many dark spots between the tiles especially at the shower. Everything seemed outdated. The parking infront of the entrance was good though. The breakfast was not good at all either. Food tasted bland and bacon was cold. Nothing fresh of vegetables or fruits.

The guy who booked me in on the 12/5/23 who was a night porter was an excellent ambassador for the hotel. The route to the rooms however had a unique smell of its own, that got worse as you entered the room. Don’t know if a previous guest had been smoking or vaping, but it was to pleasant. Room 6 had black lines in the shower tiling grout. Curtains did nothing to stop the room lighting up at 06:30. And they were also stained. The dark furniture and gold fittings gave the room a very 1990’s feel. Also the basin taps were the wrong way around. Surely left is cold for everyone nowadays.

When we arrived we found that the TV didn't work and notified front desk. They didn't get back to us until the night before we were leaving. (4days) To replace it. There was mold all over the grout in the shower and when we informed them we were told it was "not live". I have 10+ photos but only posted 2 A diesel bus ran/idled outside our window for 30 minutes forcing us, in 28c weather, to close all windows so we didn't choke from diesel fumes. When we notified staff they just said... The bus can't go anywhere else. There was dog biscuits on the floor of the room. It has obviously not been vacuumed. We paid for a king bed upgrade and the room had a double bed. They did accept responsibility for this and reimbursed us. The overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired. (See images) Overall it was a complete disappointment and even if it was 1 or 2 things we would have been fine but the diesel bus fumes and mold were the worst and just left us with the worst experience in a hotel. That all being said... Helensburgh is beautiful ❤️

This is NOT a 4 star hotel! The room was “ok” but the bathroom was dated with tons of mould in the shower and on the ceiling. The shelf above the sink holding the soap etc was falling off!! They obviously set the soaps on there knowing this! Rusty bathroom fixtures. Wanted to take a shower before bed around 10pm and no hot water. Was told it is an old building and maybe too many people wanting a shower. The restaurant was closed for dinner as not enough staff - which turned out to be a good thing because the menu was limited and expensive. Thank goodness breakfast was included with the room price as it was not much to write home about but the staff were nice.

Reception and dining area were fine. The furniture and decor in the room was tired. There were cobwebs in the room. There was mold in the shower. Only one set of towels were provided. There was no bath mat. Breakfast was the most positive aspect. The younger staff were very helpful and attentive.

This was a trip for our family attending a wedding in the area. We booked two rooms. The first room, a family room, was lovely but when wanting to make tea we found the cups dirty and the tray had not been refreshed and looked dirty. We also found a dirty cup on the window ledge! The second room, a premium room, had no lid on the toilet so very unhygienic. There is no lift and we were on the second floor, carrying suitcases up the stairs was difficult especially for my parents. The hotel in general was tired and work to improve it is needed. Breakfast was very good and the staff were mostly helpful and very friendly and chatty up my 8yr old.

Beautiful views, nice breakfast and the staff are great. However, the bedrooms are nothing like the ones in the photographs - grubby carpets and curtains, bathrooms that need a good scrub. Bedding and towels were nice and clean at least.

Great stay except the room itself - there had been a leak in our room leaving big patches of dampness now dried on the ceilings and walls in the hallway, entrance, and bathroom. There was also an ongoing leak from the ceiling lights in the bathroom which could have been quite dangerous. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly. A lovely and quiet location

AVOID!!! Me and my partner stayed here for one night for our anniversary. We got an upgrade to a suite. When we got into the room it was freezing cold and that was with the radiator on. Asked for a different room and they gave us another suite. It was a bit warmer but there was numerous issues, badly stained carpets, stains on the sofa, badly scratched and marked furniture and the bathroom was awful, bath and shower covered in mould and corroded bath tub. The smell was awful. Bathroom window also didn't shut which made the bathroom freezing cold. The toilet also didnt flush. As we entered the corridor to go to our room we were hit by a strong damp smell and corridor walls were badly damaged, carpets looked like they needed a good hoover. I suffer from asthma and as soon as I entered the corridor and the room i started feeling very wheezy with the mould spores and dampness. We had originally booked the garden rooms for dinner and was told dinner was in the bar. They state on their website that itm's freshly made food, it definitely isn't. The guy serving got our order wrong the first time even though we were the only people in the bar. I got lamb shank (for £23) it was inedible. Looked like the lamb had been heated up in a microwave and was like Jelly. My partners wasn't any better, he got fish and chips and there was a tiny amount of flakey fish the rest was greasy batter. I have emailed a formal complaint to the hotel

Really friendly and helpful staff. The bed was super comfortable, the shower excellent. The double glazing really helped dull the sound of the church clock that chimes every 15 minutes, so we couldn't sleep with the windows open, which we would have done usually. Great location.

Views beautiful

Very welcoming staff, nice clean and spacious room, with beautiful sea view. Lots of choices for breakfast and a generous sausage for our dog. We would advise taking ear plugs because the village church, which is nearby, charms every 15 minutes through out the night!! Very quiet otherwise.

Beds were so uncomfortable, we paid for 4 nights and left after 2. Food was good especially the breakfast, drinks were costly particularly the wine.

The hotel was nice , staff were friendly..room spacious with a view of the loch . It was a Scottish country hotel .. We only had breakfast and that was fine ..nice dining room. Be mindful that the road can be twisty depending what direction your coming from, but your on the right road as your wifi might go on maps , but you can still see on the map if you look ahead that your going in the right direction 😉

We were booked for two nights but cut it short and left after the first night. The beds are extremely hard and the church bells chimed all through the night, neither of us could sleep. The staff were great and tried to resolve the issue with a mattress topper, but it was just a thin mattress protector rather than a topper and made no difference. If it wasn’t for the sleeping issue, we would have stayed. The hotel is in the process of renovating so hopefully they will be renewing all the mattresses.

Had a premier room with sea view. Gorgeous view but the room was in need of some decorating. Nice room but no toilet lid !!!! How how hard is that to fix ??? Did ask if it could be fixed as I was there for 2 nights, told they would do their best but it was never done

We had a bottom floor room for the dog, bedroom was great and the toilet had a wet floor and was a bit dated, me and my partner got a terrible sleep as our room was next to a church and there bells sounded the whole next.

Lovely setting, the hotel room was clean and comfortable. Good bar with a varied pub style menu. The full Scottish breakfast was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful

After a long drive we had an incredible welcome from Jess..she really went above and beyond to make our stay the best experience we have had in a hotel! We felt she was very professional and we were blown away with her kindness. The restaurant staff were lovely too..our stay felt homely and was always a lovely atmosphere.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was warm and quiet for how full the hotel was. Staff were responsive to requests and the area was beautiful

The hotel asked me for feedback which I provided but I haven't heard anything back from them. Booked a twin room but on arrival after a 7 hour journey found it was set up as a double. No apology, just told to wait in the bar while the beds were separated and made up. Ordered food in the restaurant. For some reason I was given a children's meal. No apology again but they did replace it with an adult's size meal. Had to chase up my daughter's desert 20 mins after being told it was on its way. Finally settled into the room

Approaching the Hotel needs more signage but the aura of the hotel approach is very exciting. The entrance is lovely and the ambiance and atmosphere is very smoothing and calming. The staff were excellent and even amended out breakfast arrangement to a small take away continental breakfast as we had a very early start. The Room was decorated nicely with heavy curtains. When I first opened the room door the atmosphere in the room smelt damp. It took ten minutes to figure out that a card has to be put into a holder by the door to get the electric and heating to work in the room. The bathroom in room 18 was out dated, small narrow bath and the shower screen didn't have a plastic sleeve to the bottom so all the water just ran out onto the floor. I had to use a towel to mop the floor dry. This happened even though I had the Screen pulled into the bath. Otherwise the sink and toilet appeared new and of good quality. The bathing toiletries were a good quality and the soap was superb. These negatives’ said, the bed was beautiful, a huge king size, clean and extremely comfortable. Our stay overall, even though very quick, was a good experience and I will stay at the Hotel again. Thank you to the staff, The Receptionist, Chef and Night time Receptionist who were all top class and excellent.

All staff friendly, helpful but not intrusive. Food well cooked and served. Comfortable and well organised public spaces with free WiFi.

Rosslea Hall is a lovely place to stay being right next to the shore at 'Rhu Point'. Everything was great and would stay here again.

This is a beautiful hotel in s remarkable location. We were lucky with bright sunshine so everything around the marina looked like the south of France.

My sister and I decided on a Xmas shopping trip at Loch Lomond Shores and Antartaxt Village we chose Rosslea Hall . It was a super choice as from the reception staff to restaurant staff who were mainly young were so warm and friendly. Great location and would definitely return. Anne Mclean

Great stay. Booked last minute as we were traveling through. Comfortable bed and great hot shower. Breakfast was delicious, with very large portions.

I found the hotel to be pleasant, comfortable but the meals were poor value. Not much for the money and limited menu. Overall quite expensive experience.

Nice property, good stay with decent breakfast, room was comfortable. My only issue, when staying here I choose to eat out due to the limited menu which is also overpriced.
