Good: Location and setting of the hotel is great. Evening meal very tasty. Wine was excellent. Restaurant staff friendly. Disappointing: Room condition was poor. Bed creaked every time you moved resulting in a poor sleep. Room was noisy. Could clearly hear people talking in the room next door. Changing rooms for pool very cramped. Locker keys didn’t have key rings making it difficult to store key when swimming. Pool showers had very little pressure and were cold. Had to shower in the room. Cooked buffet breakfast v disappointing and didn’t eat, which is a first for me. We expected this hotel stay to be the highlight of our trip up north, unfortunately it turned out to be a disappointment at the end of our trip.

I thought the hotel was poor value for money, particularly the restaurant where the food was extremely average and overpriced.

Hospitable and helpful staff, together with a beautiful position on the banks of the Tay, made this a very enjoyable stay. The restaurant food was delicious, with prompt and pleasant service. Bedroom was clean, quiet and well-equipped. My only gripe is the FILTHY carpet in all the public areas and in the lift. The tartan carpet has a white background which is horribly stained. Time to invest in a new one.
