The hotel is off the beaten path and sits above Dingwall and anyone taking mass transportation to Dingwall should be aware that taxi and bus service to the property is limited. If you are carrying light luggage, and you are healthy and feel inclined, you can walk the 20 minutes from the train terminal. I cannot overstate that the walk is all uphill! Dingwall is very quaint and small, so there are only a couple of spots to get food or a pint of ale before 3 pm, but the property has a nice pub and food prices are relatively comparable.

Room was fine. Food was good. Although both grossly overpriced. However, everything else was a disaster. The entire property is under renovation/construction. Which was never disclosed at any point during the reservation, the confirmation, or subsequent automated communications. Staff didn't even acknowledge there was renovations/constructions, even though everything looked like a war zone, and moving around was actually a hazard. Because of this, no common area was accessible. The dining room was closed (probably under renovation) and transferred to some small rather depressing room which could have been any dive in London. The next morning, construction/renovation started at 8 in the morning, right outside the door. Including workers playing music. When I raised the issue at front desk, I was met with utter contempt. Similar to when I checked in when the only greeting was that I was apparently early (and clearly an inconvenience. This shows a level of contempt for guest that is highly unusual outside of Scotland. The price charged under the circumstances is therefore far, far too much.

Great value for money, and great stay. You really have the old castle ‘vibe’ which was great. We heard that there were ghost and history tours given by the reception. We didn’t know this so missed it, but heard great things of it. Rooms are very clean, view is beautiful, car park just in front. There’s also a bar with restaurant and local whiskeys to finish your day. Great attention to detail, for example for people with hearing disabilities.

Breakfast was a good choice, easy parking. Room at the very top. Dated and furniture was broken on a unit. Expect to climb stairs as no lifts but staff offered to help.. should have said yes!. Negative was cancelled check in by 3pm yet cannot get anything to eat until 5.30 in the bar.. so not great as travelled thinking could get food on arrival.

The hotel has a very pleasant atmosphere and is a very old castle. Inside, there is a fireplace, a dungeon, and many other interesting features. The rooms are naturally not modern, but that is exactly the reason to stay in such a castle, to experience its character. However, the breakfast did not meet expectations. Free parking is so nice

Friendly staff and even an early check in. We had a gorgeous room. Comfortable bed, pillow and linens. Only small issue was that we had to run the tap for quite awhile to get hot water. Breakfasts were filling and the bar was popular with great drinks and food.

Impressive building. Stunning entrance but my room was rubbish. Rather grubby, dreadful pillows on the bed, gloomy & dull. Bathroom was ok , good shower. Miserable service in the bar / restaurant, & very disappointing meal which was grossly overpriced for what it was. I suspect other rooms might be better than mine as it bore no resemblance to the photos on the website.

All staff we had contact with were pleasant and helpful. Our room was clean except for some black hair in the bath. The bed was generally comfortable other than an indentation half way down the left side. Plenty of parking. Our dinner was nice and just the right amount.

We wanted to stay in a castle and this one met our needs. It is a beautiful old castle. The staff was friendly and the food was good. We stayed in the McKenzie apartment. It was VERY large, two large bedrooms and two full baths plus a living/dining room. The apartment is in the tower so our son likes that. It could use a good “spring clean” and some new furniture in the living/dining room. If you want the castle experience, I would recommend it. It would be nice to know more about the history from the folks that work there.

We stayed in two rooms during our stay. The oak room, which is the most expensive, was nice, had a copper soaking tub and large bathroom. We stayed in The Davidson suite during our last night there. It was extremely nice and updated. Breakfast at the on site restaurant was also good.

I hope we were in the worst room in the hotel (no 1). It had 2 connecting doors outside and as well as the banging from these, they also caused our door to rattle. The room was freezing and the central heating didn’t turn on. We have stayed in much better hotels this year which cost half as much.

This was seriously a magical place to stay. The room was spacious with an incredible view, and all of the amenities made you feel like actual royalty! Staff were all extremely accommodating and friendly as well. I felt like I was in my very own Christmas Hallmark movie and would absolutely recommend the place to anyone visiting near Dingwall or Inverness- it was a quick 20min bus ride into Inverness, and the bus stop is just down the hill from the castle.

Tired building. Rooms dated. No heating on. Little electric heater was available. Condensation was really bad. Bedroom 1 shower was a trickle of hot water. Bedroom 2 no tv signal. Food in bar was absolutely first class as was the service. Breakfast was cold. Scrambled egg overdone and dry. Super comfy bed. Good linen.

Booked 2 rooms, they both had heating on full and were too hot, room 1 radiator switched off but the window was broken, the rope was snapped and would not open, room 2 radiator would not switch off but the window did open, when I asked staff for a little help as the rooms were uncomfortable, just told it was an old building, not much help really when rooms are too hot to be comfortable in. In summary nice place but the staff were not friendly and rooms too hot.

Reception staff were ok. Could be more welcoming. Odd that reception desk (which was a big old desk) was exactly next to the fireplace area with couches. Felt too close to have an intimate conversation. Restaurant - waitress was very young and untrained. She was very sweet but did not know how to waitress. Was not knowledgeable about the menu.

At check-in, it took 20 minutes to find someone at reception (10pm) After roaming around, I found the on-duty individual in the bar area. Then, there were major issues with water pressure (too weak) and tenperature (lukewarm at best). Not exciting after a long drive with two small kids. They apologized, but it hardly helps when paying over $300 for a night. The room was very simple and basic, nothing to be excited about - I'd expect more from an upscale castle hotel. They might have nice suites, but don't trust pictures if you are going for cheaper options.

I had to inquire about breakfast, if someone can help us with luggage, about wi fi. It was the weirdest check in ever. Our room was also disappointing. We selected this cause it was a “castle hotel” yet other than the exterior and the windy hallways the bedroom was extremely lacking in character. Made me wish we had stayed in Inverary instead. Had a great night stay at Tulloch Castle Hotel while visiting family locally. The staff were very helpful especially night porter. Only downside was with it being an old building we were on the top floor and there was no lift but we managed.

We had a wonderful stay at Tulloch Castle! We were greeted by Paul when we arrived. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the property. He was entertaining and his commitment to his job was evident by the fact that he was there even thought it was his day off. We enjoyed drinks at the bar and a delicious dinner at the restaurant. The balcony off our room was the perfect place for a nightcap and coffee in the morning. The views of the city from the balcony were stunning. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of food. We can't wait to return someday!

Friendly staff and even an early check in. We had a gorgeous room. Comfortable bed, pillow and linens. Only small issue was that we had to run the tap for quite awhile to get hot water. Breakfasts were filling and the bar was popular with great drinks and food.

The hotel is off the beaten path and sits above Dingwall and anyone taking mass transportation to Dingwall should be aware that taxi and bus service to the property is limited. If you are carrying light luggage, and you are healthy and feel inclined, you can walk the 20 minutes from the train terminal. I cannot overstate that the walk is all uphill! Dingwall is very quaint and small, so there are only a couple of spots to get food or a pint of ale before 3 pm, but the property has a nice pub and food prices are relatively comparable.

This was seriously a magical place to stay. The room was spacious with an incredible view, and all of the amenities made you feel like actual royalty! Staff were all extremely accommodating and friendly as well. I felt like I was in my very own Christmas Hallmark movie and would absolutely recommend the place to anyone visiting near Dingwall or Inverness- it was a quick 20min bus ride into Inverness, and the bus stop is just down the hill from the castle.

We enjoyed our stay here. The property was well maintained and the staff were friendly. There wasnt much to do within walking distance but that’s okay because it was very quiet and there was a restaurant/bar there.

Tired building. Rooms dated. No heating on. Little electric heater was available. Condensation was really bad. Bedroom 1 shower was a trickle of hot water. Bedroom 2 no tv signal. Food in bar was absolutely first class as was the service. Breakfast was cold. Scrambled egg overdone and dry. Super comfy bed. Good linen.

Reception area very nice. Room dated, kettle was on the floor, no handwash, unusual bed sheet which didn't cover the whole mattress. Room was very disappointing after seeing the reception area. Bar area was nice and nice location. Restaurant was very poor. Old tired decor and laminated menus. Our wine glasses had fill lines on them. The menu was very uninspiring and seemed like it hadn't been updated in 10 years. Scallops were chewy. Venison dish was dry and seemed like it had been heated up in a microwave. Chicken and haggis was bland and boring. The restaurant was a huge letdown for us and spoiled our stay at the hotel overall. 35 quid for three courses, absolutely not worth it. Nobody asked us at checkout how we had found our stay, if they had i would have explained. We would not stay here again and felt this hotel was very overpriced for what we got. I think they're riding on the building being very grand and historic, without actually putting any effort into the hotel

Welcome was 1st class. Bright, cheerful, witty, lady at reception. Was most helpful. Big smile the whole time. Room was very nice, clean. Fresh looking. The Castle is obvioulsy very old but in nice condition. All the staff we saw, in restaurant and the Bar were also helpful, accommodating and pleasant. The food in the Bar was exceptional. Breakfast was a wee bit disappointing, we didnt like the Black Pudding but everything else in the Scottish Breakfast was lovely. All in all a lovely place to stop by.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay. Our suit was gorgeous. Tasteful design, amazingly comfortable bed, great facilities in the room even tangerine bath salts and radox for the bath! The rest of the castle, while a bit dated is quirky and comfortable and the staff are very helpful. Even puppy Hecter was there to say goodbye when we checked out. Dinner was nice. Reasonably priced, well cooked duck and venison and gorgeous chocolate delice! The only downside to our stay was the quite terrible breakfast which was completely not in keeping with the rest of stay. We would definitely stay at the castle again and just pop out for breakfast l!

We stayed in One of the sweets I believe it was the Davidson suite. The room was everything you'd expect in a Castle hotel. The big disappointment was the food. We paid for included breakfast and if you can believe it the woman actually said well since you have a croissant you don't need toast with your breakfast! Wow it was very skimpy the buffet was very small not very impressive at all. The dinner was so bad I don't know where to start. We were a couple and a single woman in the whole restaurant the waiter knew he was getting a gratuity he was almost falling asleep he forgot my starter for almost a half an hour we had to tell him he forgot it he never apologized he never offered anything to make up for it the food was on a scale of 1 to 10 literally a two or a three. And that's being gracious. For a suite as nice as that, one had to expect a much better dinner especially since we were paying for the dinner. Remember dinner was not included we paid for it and we paid for the breakfast in advance both were substandard by any measure
