Booked a table for 4 in the restaurant, food was poor and dry, not wurth the money, staff were hopeless as told weddings were on so they were short staffed, bathroom had black mould around the bath and lights out, poor experience for the cost

The room was a little disappointing. Seemed to have a big space in one corner which previously contained furniture. Besides the bed we had one chair and a dressing table. No fan or air-con despite the heat. We visited in March and the room was much nicer.

Have a lovely stay. Nice hotel in very peaceful surroundings. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Breakfast buffet was steaming hot and food was tasty, with a good selection. Can recommend and I would stay here again.

On a previous stay, everything was great. Other than the breakfast staff clearing breakfast half an hour early before I had a chance to sit down (breakfast finishes at 9.30) everything else was great and the staff were really accommodating. This stay was the opposite! The tv had to be retuned every time it turned off, the room was freezing and the heating didn’t work, the phone was disconnected and socket broken so couldn’t call reception, room service doesn’t start until after 10pm and when I requested a slightly late checkout I was told it was £15 even though most hotels now let you have some extra time and are less rude when telling you there’s a charge! Housekeeping were still knocking on my door every half an hour from 9am even though there was a DND on the door. Overall my stay was uncomfortable and sadly I might have to go back to the other hotel I was staying in there which is a shame as I thought this was going to be a nice change for my commutes. If you’re going, request a room away from the ground floor, mine was next to reception this time and very noisy. A coach load of people left at 1am so along with my freezing room I had a load of drunk people to deal with as well!!

Clean, modern, quiet. Nice location, decent breakfast. Obviously brilliant if a golfer. I suppose a little sterile and characterless - but often hotels with character don’t actually deliver on all aspects! I’d rather stay in somewhere modern. Photo (hopefully!) shows the view from our room.

Reception was organised and quick Rooms clean for most aspects Food at Breakfast and Dinner excellent Staff paying attention and working hard Nothing around it so it is important to bring anything you need. No Air/Con in the rooms and they get hot I could hear all of the movement of the room above but nothing from either side! Good attitude, paying attention and better than MANY.

Only stayed for the night, hotel in nice surroundings surrounded by the golf course. Public areas have a nice modern open decor. Buffet breakfast excellent. Only negative was we had to figure out the heater in the cold room before it felt cosy (windows had been left open!)

This seems to be the new trend. Not allowing residents to contols the room temperature. Heating did not work at all. Maybe its fine in the summer but when its 9 degrees outside its not pleasant.

The bedroom was lovely, nice clean and a good nights sleep. Shame can’t be said for the rest of the hotel. Christmas party night, it was that cold in the function room you had to keep your coat on. Even the DJ had a hoody on. Casino was in a different room with heat, yes you guessed it everyone left the party, for heat and a fake flutter. When I tried to speak to reception, in regards to the previous night… she didn’t want to know… so rude mid conversation she started a conversation with another guest. Not worth the money for the party night!

Stayed here for one night, the hotel looks great inside and out and has plenty of parking. It is set within a golf course with gated security. The staff were all friendly and the breakfast was good, plenty to choose from. The only problem i had was with the bar on the evening, there were only six people in having a drink, so was very quite , when i ordered my drink the barman said the gas had gone off so he needed to go and change it . I waited patiently for more than ten minutes before he came back, and still the gas was not working, i then asked for a bottled cider and sat down. When i got back up for a refill the barman was nowhere to be seen, i waited a further fifteen minutes before he showed up. I know when it's quiet the staff will be expected to do other tasks but this is poor bar service. I finished my drink and went to bed early, wasn't going to be made to wait again.

A really good overnight stop. The receptionist when we checked was absolutely spot on; a great manner and a very warm welcome. The room was clean, bright and plenty of space. A perfect place when travelling on the M6.

When my wife and I checked in to the Hotel at 15.00, we found the room very cold and the electric wall heater switched off. It took about 30 minutes to learn how to switch on the wall heater. However, the room was still very cold and so at 5.00pm we phoned the hotel reception to request a portable electric heater. The receptionist assured me she would check if one was available and call back, however, this never happened. So we had to endure the low temperature in the room. When we checked out the following day, I made an official complaint. The receptionist seemed disinterested in our plight and said she would report the issue to the hotel housekeeping. However, we did not get an apology. We feel the hotel management should have made some gesture of compensation for our bad experience. To date, we have not received anything.

All staff need training. No warm welcome at reception. Very matter of fact. Functional which post covid and price increases is not good enough. Bar staff - three untrained juniors on bar serving guest while management entire focus on big wedding downstairs. No courteous note that wedding would take place. No free bar snacks. 1 hour wait for food. Bar staff very reactive. Bar not kept clean. Sat in wet chair thankfully soaked in beer and nothing worse. Food good. Breakfast on Sunday was chaotic, dirty tables poor stock. Again no management seen. Poor management and poor staff training. Also think my bar charges were incorrect. Will contact hotel directly. Will eprecommemd and will stay again but manager needs to readdress his priorities and supervision. Check out no how was your stay, no query about issues, just awful piped music and a get out of here vibe. Could do better.

Terrible terrible time!!!!! Unfortunately, my experience was far below the standard I expected. Usually I find your hotel wonderful I get a great quick sleep and the amenities are great. It’s secure, nice and also quiet , which I really appreciate as most of the time as I’m going to bed people are actually getting up. When I checked into my assigned room, I was shocked to find that it was already occupied by another guest, who was extremely distressed and jumped out of bed in his pants as i work on the railway so didn’t get to me room until 6am, i was then put in a single room when i booked a double and when I complained to hotel reception and wrote in my emails were ignored.

There is a notice by the plates for cooked breakfast that they will be hot but no servietts to hold them with. The toaster was rather inefficient and I could not find any teaspoons. The hot breakfast was well cooked and there was a good variety of options. Overall this was a nice stay and I would recommend the hotel

Have a lovely stay. Nice hotel in very peaceful surroundings. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Breakfast buffet was steaming hot and food was tasty, with a good selection. Can recommend and I would stay here again.

Clean, modern, quiet. Nice location, decent breakfast. Obviously brilliant if a golfer. I suppose a little sterile and characterless - but often hotels with character don’t actually deliver on all aspects! I’d rather stay in somewhere modern. Photo (hopefully!) shows the view from our room.

Distant from town so no local walking to shops. Reception was organised and quick Rooms clean for most aspects Food at Breakfast and Dinner excellent Staff paying attention and working hard Nothing around it so it is important to bring anything you need. No Air/Con in the rooms and they get hot I could hear all of the movement of the room above but nothing from either side! Good attitude, paying attention and better than MANY.

Only stayed for the night, hotel in nice surroundings surrounded by the golf course. Public areas have a nice modern open decor. Buffet breakfast excellent. Only negative was we had to figure out the heater in the cold room before it felt cosy (windows had been left open!)

The hotel was lovely and the room was spotless. One downside was the lack of flexibility from the restaurant- one of my daughters is a very fussy eater and wanted a burger, which is only served on the bar menu but not on the restaurant menu. We asked if this could be served in the restaurant while the rest of us ate from the restaurant menu but we were told this wasn’t possible, despite the food from the bar menu being prepared in the same kitchen as the restaurant - this was disappointing.

Ok hotel and facilities. Food - average steak and sides. Bar - they need to learn how to do a Gin & Tonic. It’s really poor when they only use 1 ice cube and you have to ask them to but a lime in as well. Sad. Also… I couldn’t put my drinks at the room as no one asked for my card details when I checked in. You would have though it was in their manual.

Great location good service in reception and room cleaning but very disappointed at the breakfast. I am vegetarian and do not expect much in the hot dishes but would expect pastries, bread, fruit, yoghurt, for this quality hotel! The staff were overstretched, no cutlery, plates or even bread - big queue on the one working coffee machine... and this was at 9am - it really spoiled the experience

We enjoyed our stay at Wychwood Park except for the restaurant. Whatever we requested from the menu they’d ran out. We did receive and apology, which was nice, but we ended up eating in the bar. The food we ate was very nice.

We have stayed here on a number of occasions in the past. However, on this particular Saturday, the bar area had been taken over by a number of raucous parties meaning there was nowhere to sit in this area, bar food was very delayed and we gave up and went back to our room. There was nowhere to sit in the breakfast area the following morning, food was in short supply and was cold.

I would expect more than 2 teabags and a milk in my room in a 4 star hotel. There was no air con and it was a hot evening. I left my phone charger and contacted them by phone and email but they didn’t get back to me. I tried to call reception from my room and no answer. Breakfast was average, bar was lovely and room clean and very tidy.

A great stay again, helpful staff as everything worked well and a lovely stay. We arrived in cool weather and had to use the heater .. all worked and room nice and snug .. it did occur to me that no aircon could be an issue in recent heatwave .. the breakfast was good although quite a lot of stuff was running out by 9:00 on the weekday .. the meals were very good and we eat in the bar both nights .. however the bar staff (just one to cover everything) were run ragged at times .. the restaurant was quiet so maybe the waiting staff (as well as bringing the meals up ) could have helped more in the bar ?? All in all another great stay.
