Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa - Cheshire

The venue is in a beautiful historic building. The facilities are great including a pool with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. The rooms had massive comfy beds and were cleaned daily with plenty of towels and extra tea, coffee and biscuits. My only quibble is that the rooms didn’t have internet tvs.

Great place.... overnight single week day stop over due to train cancellation.... Good service....rooms good all be it random numbering and quite a walk from the hotel reception.... Tried the Restaurant.... very reasonable... seemed quiet on a week night although told or was busy... Recommend the pool.. never tried the spa.... will be back if ever stuck in Crewe again... Room was serviced by a lovely girl..... Kate T.... Everything was as it should be...

It was fine but not exceptional. Pool restrictions for children guests are unfair.

Breakfast was excellent, very comfortable bed, pool facilities were nice, quiet and clean, the shower in the room fluctuated in temperature and there were limited vegan options at the resturant (would love to see simple tomato pasta on the menu) but otherwise an excellent stay

A beautiful venue with great amenities, taken advantage of the gym and spa area as well as the bar. Great night sleep and perfect for proximity to a wedding i attended. Did have an issue with the key cards needing to be reset , but this was minor and didnt create any issue. Breakfast buffet was really top notch too.

Let's start with the good points: ~ first impressions - amazing - what a spectacular looking building ~ the manager on duty was very helpful - and kept the pool area open for us post its closing time of 6pm - as we arrived at 5:45pm, and had no idea that the pool was going to be closed at 6pm ~ staff were generally very friendly ~ breakfast was really good - and the kitchen made scrambled eggs especially for us ~ the interior of the old building is amazing, and most unusual Now for the not so good bits: ~ the new part of the hotel looks like a 60s comprehensive school - and couldn't be more different from the old part. The architect should be ..... ~ the "quad" between the new wing and the (also new) spa looks like a prison yard (how about some flowers? or a fountain?) the contrast from the old part of the hotel is astonishing, but not in a good way ~ despite having many rooms, and dozens of car parking spaces, there was not even ONE charger for an electric car. in 2024 this is outrageous. Of course, you could blame the authorities for not making it mandatory - but what are the management thinking? ~ the room (in the new part) was very dusty, and parts of the paintwork (eg the bathroom were scratched and broken looking) Thus - a "mixed" experience overall....

Food was great, staff professional and attentive. Room was perfect and we enjoyed both the pool and the gym, not something we normally use!

We arrived earlier than check in time but the receptionist was lovely and gave us 2 rooms there and then. We had a ground floor room as we had a dog, the room was dated and the voile curtain was slightly mouldy at the bottom but our daughters room was far better on the 1st floor. We had lunch in the Brasserie, unfortunately, it really wasn't very good. We used the spa and had treatments, this was very clean and lovely. Breakfast was very busy as expected but fine overall. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Close to some very lovely old inns which allow dogs.

The hotel was spotless and very comfortable, with welcoming staff and a relaxing atmosphere. The spa facilities were excellent and made the stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a restful getaway.

Sticky drink glass marks on most of the furniture and had to go down to reception to tell and get some wet wipes to clean myself, and the room was quiet dusty, otherwise quiet good, but a disappointing anniversary. E.C

The only reason I am able to give any stars to this is because of the staff. Very friendly. There was so many issues in this hotel that it's shocking they consider themselves to be luxurious. We were very excited to stay here, as the photos looked beautiful online. They had impressive Celiac/Gluten Free options on their website and it looked promising. We also had a dog and thought it would be great to stay here with him. On arrival, we were treated very kindly and friendly, explained about breakfast times, where the pool was, where our room was etc and it all seemed like we were off to a great start. The room at a glance looked beautiful, and the bed was comfortable and clean. Upon further inspection there was some horrors, I'll leave my photos attached to explain more. I don't expect 5 star experiences everywhere I go, but for the price of this stay it was extremely disappointing and I feel we would have had a better experience in the travel lodge down the road. The grounds of the hotel itself are beautiful, however the room we stayed in (4013) was grubby, and actually filthy. A steam clean and a good scrub along with some maintenance would go a long way here. The breakfast was absolutely terrible for myself being Celiac. I asked about what I could eat when arriving to breakfast, in the "green" time frame and it wasn't busy. They had no gluten free bread left. And the buffet had cross contamination, nothing was safe for me to eat. Please don't stay here.

Purchased a King room in the modern wing. On arrival, went to our room in the old part of the hotel which was not what we booked. By the way this is very poorly sign posted and lots of small stairs and doors to navigate. Took a while to fined. Rang reception and was told this was an upgrade. After a very long conversion/debate about it being an upgrade (which I disagreed with) they spoke to management and agreed to move us to the room we booked. The old room was a feature room but was tired, creaky floorboards, small ish, had a standard double and a room divider which you could see over and has mould on the coving the other side. The room we booked was modern, clean, larger and had a king bed (like we booked). We stayed for 2 days and when they cleaned the room they made the bed only I think. Used mugs stayed in same place, coffees area not cleaned or replenished. Breakfast was fine. Grounds need some TLC and not kept well near the modern block. Key card stopped working on the second day and had to go to reception to sort out. Overall a bit disappointing to be honest.

The modern wing is very basic and feels like a premier inn. The original period property is very lovely and interesting though.

They weren't kidding when they said you need to book the brasserie. They were kidding saying you could eat at the bar (per website) or at the White Lion (staff suggestion). Only to 4pm and 7pm respectively. Two huge double comfortable beds.

Beautiful building. We had a modern double booked but they offered us an upgrade to a king in the main hall. The room was incredibly spacious, a gorgeous bathroom with a deep tub, and a complimentary drinks fridge. Even tho the bed was a bit dated (2 twins pushed together as a king & a strangely lumpy mattress pad, it was a comfortable sleep. It’s a very quiet part of the Hall so neighbours aren’t an issue. The bathroom is incredible (it does need some ventilation), a separate double sized shower, Victorian tiling, vaulted ceiling with stained glass windows in the ceiling above a full length tub. It took a while for the room to warm up but that’s only because it was late May and a cold front had dropped temps down to March temps and I think the boilers for that wing had been turned off for the season. We notified the front desk and by the time we were back after the spa and dinner they were ticking on. The spa facilities perfect for some relaxing. Dry sauna, steam, ice sink, jacuzzi & pool. It has a chapel for meditation and prayer that was built in the 1600s. I found the evening visiting more serene bc they had flood lights on in the morning.

Constant noise during night from storeroom housing boiler near my room was annoying.

Good hotel, rooms are good size, with separate bath and shower! Stayed a few times, no complaints.

The buildings, the exteriors are great and maintained very well. However when it comes to the rooms and value for money its highly overpriced. The staff is great and very helpful. Breakfast is very basic but expected a lot more when you pay so much for a stay. The hot food section was strictly ok and I have had much better breakfast in hotels much cheaper than these. Room is good and spacious but there is no AC. They provide a fan which is of no use as there its not powerful at all and the nearest plug point is far off the bed. Keeping the windows open doesn't help either. Poor mattresses, we could literally feel the springs on the surface of the mattress. No plug points near the bed sides either, which is quite common in rooms these days. The only good thing was the dinner at the Brasserie which was great but we had to pay for it separately, so I won't consider it a positive in the review. Overall the stay wasn't convenient at all. Paying almost 150£ per night with all the above things makes it waste of money.

Beautiful property. Checkin/checkout experience spoiled the whole stay. Such a shame. Better staff training to directly acknowledge and admit mistakes will improve the customer experience.

Awful experience. Restaurant service a appalling, none of the staff have any interest. Food is average at best. Complaints were acknowledged and ignored.

Very slow check in Initial room had no working heating Took ages to come and check Then couldn’t fix, so they eventually upgraded me.

Lovely hotel, but all staff need some training on customer service - i constantly felt i was a hassle to them Evening meal was good, but breakfast buffet was very poor with luke warm sausages and cold bacon. Had a meeting in the hotel and returned to Brasserie for Lunch to faced with another buffet and was faced with cold chips and luke warm sausages (saved by hot gravy)

We were only staying for one night to see a show in Crewe so didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel. The room was nice, bed very comfortable. There wasn't a lot of room for other furniture so hard to be critical about that. Nice bathroom, good toiletries. When we came back from the show we had a drink in the Terrace Bar, which was fine. Service was excellent and the drink selection was good although the wine choice, by the glass, was a little limited. The only meal we had was breakfast. The staff were brilliant despite being under a lot of pressure from the large number of guests needing attention. All smiles and very helpful. The food was standard hotel fare and everything was available, sometimes with a short wait but as stated the staff were clearly short-handed but coping admirably.

Reception staff very professional and friendly . Good breakfast , Good leisure facilities , Good variety of room choices would definitely recommend staying at this hotel .

Nice country location. Rooms clean, quiet pleasant and helpful reception staff. Grounds delightful and plenty of onsite parking.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Crewe Hall Hotel and would happily return again if we have reason to stay near Crewe in the future. The building and grounds are impressive and there's plenty of parking. The buffet breakfast was very good and thanks largely to a wedding reception taking place at the same time as our stay, we were upgraded at no additional cost to a lovely room in the main building.

Hotel was fantastic and the bedrooms and spa were both excellent. The only negative was the breakfast which was cold and very disorganised as they kept running out of things. Other than the breakfast it was a perfect break

Hotel was impressive, check in staff were brilliant, gym and spa staff lovely. Brasserie really poor, waited an age to be served, had to ask for a glass of water twice before getting one. Chicken Caesar Salad advertised with anchovies, there were none and the croutons were soggy. Left a very bad impression overall for £20…

Beautiful property, staff were very friendly and attentive. Only negative is that the Brasserie dining area lacks character, the decor is more fitting for a cafeteria, not a lovely historic property. Food was good, but not great.
