Very comfy beds led to a good nights sleep. Clean room. Big enough for a night. Room and hotel a bit dated but not overly to distract. Friendly and helpful staff. The pool, sauna and steam room where great. The changing area and lockers ideal. The showers didn't have a mat outside them so the floor was very wet and quite slippy when we stayed. Breakfast was good. They didn't have much on show for gluten-free, fruit, yoghurt, cereals. Asked for toast and they also have more. The evening meal wasnt as we expected a bit expensive and not much choice and it wasn't that good. They had 2 gluten-free choices. Not many eating here.

All good apart from 2 issues 1 lift was broken so had to walk 2 floors up no help with bags and 2nd found pool area and changing rooms floor areas not cleaned as with steam room door not good didn’t feel right just need s a good clean not Mold y otherwise ok

Lovely hotel and super dog friendly! The pool is a decent size and the other spa facilities looked nice although I didn’t use them. A couple of other nice pubs nearby to walk to.

Late night Sunday arrival, speedy efficient check in, booked for the Tesla chargers on site but lovely hotel, used the bar, friendly and quick service, and the gym, 2 parts and well equipped, and had a lovely buffet breakfast. Will use again.

The staff at reception are very friendly and check-in was super fast. The hotel pool is very nice as is the gym. However, as the gym is open to people not staying in the hotel, it was quite busy at 9.00 am on a weekday which we were surprised about. The rooms could do with an upgrade and some brighter lighting. The bathroom whilst dated is much better than other bathrooms in 4* hotels these days. No conditioner is provided, although this now seems to be the norm. Plenty of table and work space in the room. Beds in room comfortable. Overall, would recommend this hotel.

Perfect stay, rooms were clean and comfortable and very spacious including the bathroom. The spa is incredible, cardio gym, separate weights gym, pool, jacuzzi, sauna steam room all amazing. My favourite though, there’s a Tesla charger on site and it’s veryyyy cheap to charge your car

Had a fantastic stay, meeting friends. Bar area very open and relaxed with plenty of space. Staff very helpful and friendly. Fabulous pool, pity jacuzzi wasn’t working.

Great hotel in a good location with easy access to the motorway network, staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was good with plenty of choices to suit everyone's needs. Facilities like the pool and gym were excellent and parking spaces are plentiful which is always a bonus. The room was very comfortable with everything in it, and we enjoyed our weekend which was very relaxing.

Bathroom dirty. So basic for the price. I wouldnt recommend staying here. May aswell book premier inn. I was freezing all night because they turn the heating off until about 8am. Absolutely ridiculous, stay somewhere else guys.

Pool and gym were ok, needed a clean around changing room and pool area. Rooms and hallways are rather dated, amenities in room are very basic. I personally would not consider this to be 4 star but more a 3 star plus.

Our room wasn’t cleaned after the first night. The staffs at reception told us that the rooms are cleaned every other day. No hot water on the second day so had to do with cold showers. The staffs at the reception desk made up some ridiculous explanation about the room being too far from the boiler and the hot water having to travel further to get to us. Seriously? Our room was on the first floor near the stairs. The hot water inside the room doesn’t immediately heat up. You have the run the water for around ten minutes and hope for that at some point it heats up. The pillows are uncomfortable, too hard and ridiculously large. The duvet is thin so we were cold during the nights. The sofa bed was uncomfortable and unsuitable to be used as a bed. Our room was cleaned on the second day but it was barely cleaned. Dirty cups, drinking glasses and teaspoons were left inside the room. No new or clean cups/glasses. Garbage not cleared from the room so having the displeasure of spending part of our stay with the rubbish inside the room. There was no information inside the room. No information given at reception regarding the full guest services that are available. No details about the dining options so we didn’t ate at the hotel. On a whole I am extremely disappointed and I would not stay at this hotel again for a leisure break. Look closely and you can see that the place is not very clean. It is surface wipe to look presentable.

Check in was straight forward enough but we were asked to wait while they finished preparing our room. We were on the ground floor and I was surprised to see dirty dishes outside several of the other rooms that hadn’t been cleared away from the previous nights guests (3pm check in). Our room was ok but felt a little tired and not cleaned very well. Hair in the bathroom and food on the floor near to the sofa bed that had been missed during vacuuming. The bedding was all clean but the bath was a little grimey and the shower curtain was heavily stained at the bottom. We did sleep well and the room was quiet throughout the night which was great. We enjoyed the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Also the breakfast was very good indeed. Overall a mixed experience but we did feel overpriced

The common areas were not very tidy, especially in the staircase corridors (there was a crisp bag and some threads on the floor). The room was very warm and the a/c wasn't working (faulted). Opening the windows didn't create much airflow but certainty increased the noise level as the room backed on a road. There is a lovely view of discarded furniture, pallets and cut down trees....

Could have been a lot cleaner - windows and bathroom particularly. Bed uncomfortable. Banging doors. Could hear people in their bathrooms actually on the toilet. Breakfast overpriced. Self service coffee machine queue and not working. Tables crammed in to the restaurant far to close each other. Not a good restful sleep we needed too tired to use leisure facilities before breakfast due to bad night. Bar staff very inexperienced and slow. Staff member served my drink after picking glass up hygiene was disregarded no clue! Guessing new staff.

Stared well but on the hottest day of the year the ac in the room was broken and the ceiling was stained i tried to use the pool to relax but there was an aqua aerobics class 😣 spoke to Mary on reception who was very kind and as they couldn’t fix the ac and my disappointment re the poo they moved me to a better room excellent customer service

I like this hotel & stayed before. It's not cheat, at >£150 per night on a room only basis but the beds are very comfy & the food is good. However, this time, my room was above the bin area & I was woken up in the early hours of the morning (3 or 4am?) by the noise & flashing lights of the collection waggon (even with the curtains closed). I did complain to reception and they just repeated 'sorry'. For >£150 per night for a bed, I'd have expected more than 'sorry'.

This was our third visit and definitely the worst, we were in room 244 and as soon as we walked in it was like an oven, we called down to reception as we thought our air con wasn't working properly. Someone came to our room and he apologised and told us that's the coldest it would go and offered us a fan if there was one available because everyone had the same problem. When we returned to our extremely hot room there was a small fan on the bedside table that had little effect on the heat of the room. Next year we will be looking else where for our anniversary weekend..

Quite possibly the worst nights sleep I have had in the past 20 years. The room (219) had windows backing on to a bank of AC compressors, which were on and off all night. The room was boiling and had been fitted with an AC unit. The AC unit rattled all the time it was on so I had to turn off. The torn quilt was the heaviest I have ever had in a hotel and it was 22 degrees. Don’t mention the shower - see photo.

Poor check in. I had pre paid for my stay but they had no record of it. Which was a nuisance to go through everything to show that I had actually paid. Don't know why but the room smelt of smoke. Particularly the bathroom ! Fairly noisy at night with doors banging at all hours. Apart from that, staff were lovely and friendly also efficient. Room and hotel generally very nice. Didn't use the spa facilities. Breakfast was excellent. Also in a good position for access to Liverpool and Manchester. Much more reasonable than paying top price for city centre accommodation. Happily stay here again

After a very long day, check-in was quick and easy. However, the room was not set up for 3 people as previously requested. No additional bedding in the room for additional beds. Had to go back to reception 3 times to request additional bedding. No one answered the phone when calling reception from the room to follow up. The housekeeping number was also a deadline. Had to stand at reception for the third time for a member of staff to come and assist, or else I was checking out. Service and Communication is extremely poor. Apart from the service the hotel was comfy and breakfast was great. Had a seamless checkout the next morning.

Really lovely hotel and spa experience. Could not speak more highly of how friendly and helpful the staff were. When we spoke to people they also advised that they come to the hotel so often because of the lovely staff. Delicious food. Great stay

I like this hotel but 7/8 nights here in the last month has been frustrating trying to get them to organise paying for breakfast and dinner to my room charge. After several trips to the reception and many apologies I was yes again knocked back at breakfast on exit for not being shown as paid. No one seems to actually do anything about it but would rather apologise instead? Someone needs to look at this operation?

We normally stay near old Trafford as we go to the United games. We struggled getting a hotel near old Trafford and just booked this hotel instead, we are so pleased we did! Wow! Beautiful clean hotel, very welcoming staff on reception, excellent friendly bar staff and nothing was too much trouble. Hotel rooms were large, modern and spotlessly clean. Please pass on thanks to all the hard working staff

Very pleasant modern hotel in a very opulent, quiet and almost rural area. Parking is plentiful and secure (good security cameras). The room was clean, tidy and well maintained. Staff very courteous. Bath was hot and the water ran ok. Beer (Doom Bar) was well kept and tasty although a little expensive at £6.30 a pint. Although I was given the option of 10% off a meal I still thought it a bit on the expensive side so ate at the nearby Cat & Lion very close, which is excellent. My room was just above the entrance, which was great for keeping an eye on my vintage Austin, but noisy for a little while as drinkers left the bar at closing time. But never mind, overall a very good hotel.

Great location , short walk to 2 local pubs so no shortage of food and drink in the place or locally. Room nice and clean , service good , it was a last minute booking as our car had broken down and was put in a local garage, so couldn’t get home , so didn’t get chance to use the facilities as we had no extra clothes etc , but would come back and stay again hopefully under better circumstances

Reception staff very, good. Restaurant seemed very short staffed and service for duty manager was quite poor. We had to ask for breakfast early and website advised breakfast times were from 07.00 when actually on the Sunday they were from 08.00. We asked if we could could earlier and advised the duty manager would come and see us to discuss. This never happened so we had to go back to ask again and the advised we could preorder food and be ready for 08.00. when we turned up it was all buffet so nothing to preorder and people were already sat down at the tables. Not great service at all. Would not recommend the gluten free as the alternative is not alternative it is just removing the items that have gluten e.g. poppadoms and nan bread and charging the same price. Most food was cold when it did arrive and the ceasar salad had no croutons or anchovies as advertised. Could not be botherd to complain due to the time we had waited. Would not suggest dining in the hotel. The above ruined our experience as 6 of us were staying.

We stayed at the Park Royal for 1 night. There was an odour of damp in the bar/reception area. The room was clean but as it was warm we had to open the window which had air conditioning units presumably for the health club right outside the window and they were noisy all night. Even with the windows closed the noise could be heard. The bed was small and not the most comfortable. The staff were nice and friendly, breakfast was of a good standard with wide choice in a buffet style.

Hotel tired looking. Breakfast was cold despite being in the restaurant early. Dined the night before in the bar. Food looked somewhat old. Dried up limp lettuce on a ploughman’s. Microwaved pork pie. Very sub standard for the stupid price they charged
