It was a very lovely hotel in terms of staff and dining and decor in most areas but i feel it was let down by the very poor condition of the gym and the jacuzzi area, the gym needs a definite upgrade as equipment was old and rusted and the jacuzzi had no opulence like the pool area, a lot could be done to make it more inviting, also when we arrived the door was broken and we were told theyd move us to another room, but the other room was a lot smaller so we opted to return to our original room on the proviso they fixed the door which they did, normally if you have issues they upgrade not downgrade, but apart from that it was a lovely place and when we said we wanted to picnic on the green they got us a picnic blanket some prosseco and cushions to sit on outside which was lovely, and a free drink at dinner to make up for the not so good start

Gym was not fit for purpose. Swimming pool and sauna was nice, jacuzzi was small, needed to get out and push a button everytime you want bubbles which was annoying. Customer service was friendly but not very helpful when it comes to sorting out problems, they very much stick to policy rather than finding a solution. They got my details mixed up with another customer and telephoned me while out having a meal to say they let someone into our room, we rushed back to find out what was going on, we were given an apology after explaining they had ruined our evening, least they could have done was offered us a drink at the bar.

The room was nice but Hot, the hotel is suppliy two fans so they are trying. The swimming pool is very is about 10years overdue a refit. But the water was nice and warm.

The staff are so welcoming and friendly the room brilliant very large and clean lots of different teas to choose from, the bar had lots of different drinks to choose from the cocktail menu was outstanding which made my wife very happy, with regards to the restaurant the food was lovely lots to choose from the one menu was very good as well great value for your money , at breakfast time we came down late we only had a choice of continental breakfast which I understand, but it took 35 minutes to get a hard boiled egg , apart from the boiled eggs my wife and I are thinking of going back to stay at this beautiful little hotel again for a week or so

I visited this hotel on business recently and I was surprised how nice it was. They had made a huge effort with the decor going up the stairs and also so really noticed all the Christmas decorations which made it feel extremely festive and seasonal. The staff were very friendly and chatty and were also extremely attentive and professional. Prices of food were on the expensive side however it was of very very good quality. There were great cooked options on the breakfast menu also. The rooms were very clean and very cosey, it had a great shower and good automatic lights in the bathroom at night. They provided coffee, tea & bottles of water; I approved of the water bottles. The bed was also possibly the comfiest hotel bed I’ve slept on. In terms of the facilities, the pool was great and so was the jacuzzi, the sauna was a great addition too, with a pool side bar and a very good looking girl working behind it who was nice and chatty. The gym was very small, and it wouldn’t really fit anymore than 10 people. However it had what you needed for a quick workout and it was good that it was pool side. Parking was easy and free which was great. Overall it was a great hotel, one of the best I’ve visited in a while. Would recommend.

Great stay except for a truly rediculous wash basin in the bathroom. Litterally unusable for face washing or tooth brushing. A marble shelf just above it, preventing your head to be placed above the basin. And then there was of course the insane -separate- cold/hot water tap. Everything else was really good. Ah, no lifts but only two floors.

Unsure why hotel has 4 stars because the condition of hotel rooms and spa was way below average. Photos look nothing like actual condition of facilities. The spa is very tired and outdated, not looked after as windows were dirty covered in cobwebs and dead flies. Bedroom was very small and you can hear every noise and conversation outside the room. Shower was clogged took a while for water to go down. When someone was turning room around they took all rubbish out of the bin and put on the desk; forgot about it so when we came back we found all our rubbish on the desk, so there is definitely no attention to detail there. Mentioned all this to reception staff, didn’t seem like they cared much. Overall very below average hotel and facilities, definitely overpriced for what it is.

Front of house and restaurant are great. Food and drinks are pricey. Not a lot of choice for a vegetarian. Lots of cocktails but beer selection is a bit boring. Out hotel room was not good. Had to request a tv remote, clean glasses, water and a clean fan. When we took the dust covered fan to reception there was no apologies. We understand things aren’t going to be spotless so we gave up complaining as it was getting embarrassing. Dogs are allowed at the hotel but: - only 3 tables in a busy walk way (to the spa, toilet, hotel rooms) where you can sit and eat dinner/breakfast - no dog bed, bowls or treats in the room - no guides of what you can do in the area with a dog

Very good from check-in to leaving. Helpful, friendly and courteous staff. Excellent cooked breakfast and choice of cereal, fruit ,jams ect. Room cleaned to high standard and lovely fluffy towels! Leisure facilities excellent.

For £200 a night we expected a much better room than we received. Cracked tiles in the bathroom, dirty splash marks on the walls . We tried to have a quiet drink outside in the sun but had to come back in as the locals must use this hotel as there local and the language was disgusting.

Penventon Park is a lovely little hotel near Redruth Redruth itself is no longer up to much, by all accounts, but we used this hotel as a base for travelling around Cornwall, and for that it is well located, as it is pretty central We chose the hotel mainly as it had EV chargers, which worked perfectly well while we were there Food was good - Both on the one evening we ate there, as well as each breakfast But housekeeping needs work. The coffee cafetiere thing has mucky rubbish in it. The bathroom was never cleaned properly. We hung our towels so that they didn't get replaced, but housekeeping folded them (wet) and placed them back on our beds, making them and the bed damp. And one day, housekeeping just didn't come in at all, however it was marked at reception as having had a "light refresh" - which meant no fresh water, tea, coffee, or biscuits, an unmade bed and more damp towels. But apart from that, we did enjoy our stay ... Just were never sure quite what to expect when we got back

As always it's been brilliant. All the staff are so friendly and very welcoming. Room was spotless. Spa was a bit busy most of the days treatments were fabulous. Want to thank Alex and Partner, Harrison, Connor, Reece Wez and all the bar staff. Spa girls. Plus the breakfast serving staff.

Comfortable and clean bedrooms, good bathrooms (particularly showers and towels). Excellent customer service and delicious dinner menu (also enjoyed breakfast buffet). Redruth itself isn’t the most picturesque spot in Cornwall but is in easy reach of lovely beaches and the hotel is set in a mini oasis, surrounded by mature trees. Pool decent size. Would recommend.

Nice hotel staff were great especially in the restaurant and although my room was nice the mattress was incredibly uncomfortable, I am still aching a day later. It all ways annoys me when they ask for payment on arrival even though the cave a card on file. Saying that I will probably try it again sometime

The staff were friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a dog friendly room, the room could do with updating, very old fashioned. The hotel and room were clean, and it is a very dog friendly hotel. The dogs have their own food menu, which is perfect to spoil the pooches! The location of the hotel is a little remote, the town of Redruth doesn’t have much going on. It was a great location for us to be able to travel to See ives, Penzance and Lands End.

Nice location and great decorated hotel, the service at dinner was a bit slow but the food was great and breakfast was good too. In the room I stayed in there seemed to be a noisy ventilation from the kitchen, but luckily it stopped when the kitchen was closed and good timing for bed.

We had an excellent 4 nights. All the staff were first class and nothing was too much despite there being a private dinner & dance on Friday night and a wedding on Saturday. The room was very good and housekeeping provided us with a basket of towels etc every day as we stayed in the hotel to relax. Percy, our mini dachsund was provided with a nice bed, blanket and towel, all of which he refused to use, but he had his own crate. He had doggie treats by the score and many tummy tickles. We didn't use the leisure facilities and therefore cannot comment on them. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Gym was not fit for purpose. Swimming pool and sauna was nice, jacuzzi was small, needed to get out and push a button everytime you want bubbles which was annoying. Customer service was friendly but not very helpful when it comes to sorting out problems, they very much stick to policy rather than finding a solution. They got my details mixed up with another customer and telephoned me while out having a meal to say they let someone into our room, we rushed back to find out what was going on, we were given an apology after explaining they had ruined our evening, least they could have done was offered us a drink at the bar.

People who run hotels, go and have a look at this place, the building is nice and so on, but the thing that jumps out straight away is the standard the staff work to. The front of house makes this place stress free. I was working this time, but I would happily use this place for a private stay. Nice one people.

Stayed for 3 nights bed and beakfast as a base for visiting family. My room was quite nice and clean but the outlook was awful. Overlooked by another room so felt I needed to keep the curtains shut and looked out through filthy window onto a dirty flat roof with wires everywhere. The bed was okay but the base was larger than the mattress so every time I got put the bed I hit my calves against the base. Plus the base wasn't joined so it made the edges quite sharp. The breakfast was lovely as were the breakfast staff. I have an allergy and my needs were met. The reception staff were not what I would expect from front of house. During my stay not one of them made eye contact or spoke to me, unless I spoke first and I had to pass reception to access the stairs to my room. I regarded that as rude and not what I would expect from front of house. To be honest I should have complained about my room but I didn't feel comfortable making a fuss. We enjoyed our stay but it could’ve been better. Had a table booked in the restaurant for 20.00 and with the waiters help we chose a bottle of wine which never turned up. The food service was very slow. Waited until nearly 21.00 for it to arrive and still no wine so had to remind waiter that we had ordered it. We both ordered a Fillet Steak but this was not from a good source. For me fillet should cut like butter but it was very tough and chewy. My partners medium rare was swimming in blood by the time she cut in to a few times, so it hadn’t rested long enough. I personally think they were over run as there was also a wedding going on! We didn’t get told about the wedding on arrival which would’ve been nice as they had live music planned so by the time we got back to our room at around 22.00 the wedding was in full swing and our room was just above the function room. If we’d known that I’d have asked to be moved a bit further away. Breakfast was a much better experience than dinner and the room itself was nice and clean. The staff we spoke to were also very nice. Just needs some attention to detail in places to make the stay better.

What a gem! The staff at this hotel are all amazing. Each and every one of them is confident, capable and above all polite and helpful. Nothing, it seems is too much trouble. The hotel building is old and characterful but well kept and comfortable. Food portions are generous and menu excellent. The pool and spa facilities are great and make the price of your stay extremely good value. The placement of the hotel makes it ideal for getting to either Cornish coast in no time or explore the fascinating history and surroundings on foot from the hotel.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a dog friendly room, the room could do with updating, very old fashioned. The hotel and room were clean, and it is a very dog friendly hotel. The dogs have their own food menu, which is perfect to spoil the pooches! The location of the hotel is a little remote, the town of Redruth doesn’t have much going on. It was a great location for us to be able to travel to See ives, Penzance and Lands End.

Hotel was very conveniently located for my purposes and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. I only had drinks at the bar and breakfast but everything was very good. Penventon Park is a lovely little hotel near Redruth Redruth itself is no longer up to much, by all accounts, but we used this hotel as a base for travelling around Cornwall, and for that it is well located, as it is pretty central We chose the hotel mainly as it had EV chargers, which worked perfectly well while we were there Food was good - Both on the one evening we ate there, as well as each breakfast But housekeeping needs work. The coffee cafetiere thing has mucky rubbish in it. The bathroom was never cleaned properly. We hung our towels so that they didn't get replaced, but housekeeping folded them (wet) and placed them back on our beds, making them and the bed damp. And one day, housekeeping just didn't come in at all, however it was marked at reception as having had a "light refresh" - which meant no fresh water, tea, coffee, or biscuits, an unmade bed and more damp towels. We had a lovely stay here for a couple of nights with our dog and it was perfect! We were given a warm welcome and shown to our room which had patio doors onto the garden. They’re definitely set up for dogs and our room was equipped with treats, blanket, towel and water bowl plus ample tea, coffee, biscuits and water for humans. The room had good lighting, plenty of mirrors and a full length mirror (not always a given in hotel rooms), plus a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. We ate at the Penventon on two evenings. There was a good atmosphere in the restaurant, a special area for eating with furry family members and the food and service were excellent on both occasions. We absolutely hope to come back and spend more time exploring Cornwall from here!

Stayed for 2 nights during the Easter weekend. It is in a fabulous green area (so the name does reflect the location), quiet - and fantastic location for driving around for the myriad amazing sights Cornwall has to offer. The breakfasts were superb, staff were very helpful and friendly. I haven't used the gym as I was knocking myself out with the coastal treks, but the pool was great for a swim.

Slow service at dinner but it was busy, Food was sadly average . All looked lovely but needed more flavour. I do a lot of cooking so maybe fine to someone that only eats simple foods . Pool area very tired. Has so much potential for a fabulous spa but perfect for the kids they didn’t care. Just don’t have big expectations. Overall Very comfortable stay x

Lovely valentines weekend,.excellent staff really friendly and attentive. Great room very clean and spacious. Spa area was brilliant, better than Celtic Manor, and the staff in there.were brilliant. Lovely characterful hotel! You feel you have stepped back in time. From the fantastic chadaliers to the copper front bar! Super friendly staff. Nice size room. Great bathroom with powerful shower. Room was clean & comfy. We had an evening meal & breakfast both were superb! Oh and a wonderful afternoon tea! Dining room is so full of character & charm and lots of locals dine there too! Very pleased with the indoor pool which i had to myself! Good onsite parking. Good location to explore this part of Corwall. Would highly recommend & we will visit again! 🙂
