Absolutely fantastic. We paid extra for the sea view and so glad we did. The room decor delightful, as well as being clean and comfortable with well thought out amenities e.g. decent hairdryer and coffee machine. Restaurant experience great and all staff amazing. Fantastic location, parking just up the street (my low van doesn't like the very cobbled car park). Food great, staff great. Lots of cool extras like dryrobe and beach bag in room.

Large comfortable bed, good thick curtains (I like it dark!) Roomy shower too with rain Forest and hand held shower. Wonderful views and excellent sun terrace, superb breakfast choice, pancakes were amazing. Plus I absolutely loved all the paintings and decor style, lovely relaxed feel. Would definitely go again. (I already knew Charlestown well)

My first stay since the rebuild of the hotel. Rooms now have the wow factor as does the bar area. Parking is local and free. The property is right on the harbour side some rooms having views out to sea.

Easy check in and friendly staff. Parking a pain as you have to park in their sister company at the top of the road which fills up quickly. Room lovely decor however very small especially when you have luggage in there. Room 18 extremely noisy room kept awake by constant banging of doors in corridor which made our door rattle. Very hot room had window but view onto roof not nice. Bed was comfy, great shower. No instant coffee only a machine to try and work first thing in the morning after reading instructions. Breakfast was amazing and lots of it. Staff lovely. Had the most delicious fish and chips in the evening. Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous place

There is a good range of options for breakfast and we also enjoyed a delicious meal one evening. The hotel is also close to a bus stop from which you can get to various sites if you don’t want to drive (good if you want to do the St Austell Brewery tour!). Amazing stay at the Pier House! Staff were so kind and attentive. Rooms brand new - spacious and comfortable. Right on the beach, coastal walk. And restaurant delightful - generous portions of wonderful local foods and great wine. Lively scene indoors and out, yet peaceful and quiet up in room. I highly recommend and look forward to returning.

The hotel was very good all round. Room, bar area and breakfast all high standard. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Limited parking meant we had to park at the sister hotel at the top of the hill but not too much of an inconvenience. The major downside not really within control of the hotel is the ongoing work around the harbour which had a significant visual impact from our sea view room and also meant there was limited access to the harbour area.

From the moment we arrived we were treated as though we were the only people there. From reception to dining room and bar all members of staff were courteous and welcoming. The room and the view from it were unbelievable. The bed was enormous and extremely comfortable. The food in the dining room was amazing with perfect sized portions. The selection of real ales (my favourite tipple) was excellent as was the wine ( the bosses favorite). I cannot give enough praise for this hotel, in fact, we enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked to stay there over Christmas next year. To all staff at the Pier House Hotel a massive thank you.

Beautiful room both in furnishing and decor (room 10). What a great bit of planning to have the bathroom on the floor above to offer some privacy. The bathroom was very spacious and stylish with great water pressure. The host gave a lovely welcome and showed us to our room. The mini bar in the room was 'normal' prices, what a nice suprise! The pub downstairs was very nice where we enjoyed a couple of drinks. The breakfast was really special - I really enjoyed the Turkish eggs. A great spot on the harbour. Shame the tall ship had been moved due to repairs. All in all- and absolutely lovely stay.

Honestly one of the best places I have stay while away for work. i booked the wrong dates but the staff were more than happy to accommodate us, the rooms are spotless and beautifully decorated! i would definitely stay again (even in my own time) its a wonderful location steeped in history. I honestly couldnt think of anything i could change to make this stay better.

It took 30 minutes to check-in, very strict not before 3.00pm, no toilet rolls in room. Bathroom not cleaned and left wet twoels on floor plus moved dirty coffee cups into bathroom - why? Dinner service was extremely slow and you had to get up to get a waitress.

What an absolute gem! It’s a shame we only stayed for one night. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and had everything you could possibly need and more, shower was superb. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of choice for breakfast, which was delicious. If we ever come back to Charlestown I wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else but Pier House. Thank you for making us feel like home.

A last minute get away and we were pleased we chose the Pier House🙌 The decor is beautiful and the establishment is super clean! Our bedroom was small but had everything we needed and the staff were lovely. The only down side is there is no air con and in the height of summer the room was extremely hot!! It would be good if there were fans available. on a small note, our room was towards the back and we were woken up by staff talking very loudly at 5am!! forgetting guest rooms are above the outside part.

We were very impressed with the room and facilities. Comfortable and clean. Lovely little touches from quilted rain coats to fresh milk in the fridge and even complementary larger in the fridge in our room. Also a super selection of coffee pods and tea for our use which added a bit of luxury to our stay. Staff were incredibly helpful and personally showed us to our room. Breakfast was excellent as was our evening meal. Highly recommended

The shower was tiny and the room doors slammed shut. Staff were really nice. Menu choice could be wider. Bed really comfortable. Too many steps up to room and so many doors. Great location close to the sea. Excellent breakfast.

The room was clean in excellent condition with a spacious bathroom. There was a mini bar with some free drinks and some payable. We had a sea view and it was very quiet. The restaurant was amazing food and the free breakfast was also amazing. Would love to come back at some point. Would re ommend this for a trip to the Eden Project and we even went out on a fast boat ride with Seafari and had a trip to the Austell Brewery.

A mixed bag here - newly refurbished after a fire and only been open a few weeks. The rooms are nice enough with some lovely touches (the Pier House waterproof jacket an excellent idea) and extremely comfortable beds with wonderful crisp linen. Hotel services need some improvement - too few staff when arrived due to rota mixup so had to wait ages to be checked in (not great after a 4.5 hour drive) - the hanging rail in the bedroom is only accessible for individuals over 6ft tall (seriously!) and there were several light bulbs missing - even after a 5-day stay - not rocket science to sort those surely??!! Oh - and not much storage space. On the plus side the food and service and all of the team in the restaurant were excellent - great choice and very very well cooked - everything I chose was delicious - and looked after admirably by all of the team. Would I stay again - not sure - would need to find out the facilities of the room and whether I could hang up my clothes for the week !
A mixed bag here - newly refurbished after a fire and only been open a few weeks. The rooms are nice enough with some lovely touches (the Pier House waterproof jacket an excellent idea) and extremely comfortable beds with wonderful crisp linen. Hotel services need some improvement - too few staff when arrived due to rota mixup so had to wait ages to be checked in (not great after a 4.5 hour drive) - the hanging rail in the bedroom is only accessible for individuals over 6ft tall (seriously!) and there were several light bulbs missing - even after a 5-day stay - not rocket science to sort those surely??!! Oh - and not much storage space. On the plus side the food and service and all of the team in the restaurant were excellent - great choice and very very well cooked - everything I chose was delicious - and looked after admirably by all of the team. Would I stay again - not sure - would need to find out the facilities of the room and whether I could hang up my clothes for the week !

Fantastic place, great accommodation, lovely rooms, nice food and drink. Location could not be better. Staff were wonderful, friendly and chatty. We will be coming back. The only improvement we can suggest is for the doors to rooms to have soft closing mechanisms as the doors constantly slam shut.

Excellent stay at The Pier House! Staff was extremely helpful with suggestions on things to do in the area. Beautiful setting on the Harbor. We had 3 meals there- lunch, dinner and breakfast that were just ok. A little disappointed in that part. But otherwise a very nice stay and excellent service by staff!

Honestly cannot fault The Pier House. We stayed for one night for a couples getaway and from check in to check out we were so impressed! The lady who checked us in (I’m gutted we didn’t get her name!) was so friendly, explained everything and showed us to our room. We received a complimentary upgrade and our room was beautiful with a harbour view and everything you could need! Special little touches like the radio on as you entered, a Korev each on the house in the mini fridge, dry robes in case you fancied a walk in the mizzle! In the morning breakfast was plentiful and all of the staff are just so welcoming and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. We finished our stay with a coffee and a game of Scrabble in the bar area! We only live in Porthleven and came for an event at The Longstore just up the road, but will definitely be back. A little gem!

The Pier House Hotel is located in an excellent and scenic position. The property is clean and well-maintained. Staff were friendly and very helpful. There is a good range of options for breakfast and we also enjoyed a delicious meal one evening. The hotel is also close to a bus stop from which you can get to various sites if you don’t want to drive (good if you want to do the St Austell Brewery tour!). Charlestown is a great location for a long weekend and a stay at the Pier House Hotel makes it all the more special.

Amazing stay at the Pier House! Staff were so kind and attentive. Rooms brand new - spacious and comfortable. Right on the beach, coastal walk. And restaurant delightful - generous portions of wonderful local foods and great wine. Lively scene indoors and out, yet peaceful and quiet up in room. I highly recommend and look forward to returning.

Limited parking meant we had to park at the sister hotel at the top of the hill but not too much of an inconvenience. The major downside not really within control of the hotel is the ongoing work around the harbour which had a significant visual impact from our sea view room and also meant there was limited access to the harbour area.

Staff and rooms were excellent - only disappointment for me was no alternative pillows- they were feather filled and to soft for me I prefer a firmer one - also a lot of building work going off nearby which isnt anything to do with the pier house but consequently it looks very untidy and denies access to the pier itself !

Absolutely fantastic. We paid extra for the sea view and so glad we did. The room decor delightful, as well as being clean and comfortable with well thought out amenities e.g. decent hairdryer and coffee machine. Restaurant experience great and all staff amazing. First morning at breakfast it was a little disappointing, we went down at 9am and the buffet was basically gone! We went down earlier the next couple of days and it was so much better. Room was perfect, and the area was great.

The hotel staff were all so friendly and the room cleanliness and style was amazing! The DAB radio in the room was a great touch, we listened to it in the mornings when waking up and when getting ready to go down for dinner! The food was delicious, including the breakfast!

From the moment we arrived we were treated as though we were the only people there. From reception to dining room and bar all members of staff were courteous and welcoming. The room and the view from it were unbelievable. The bed was enormous and extremely comfortable. The food in the dining room was amazing with perfect sized portions. The selection of real ales (my favourite tipple) was excellent as was the wine ( the bosses favorite). I cannot give enough praise for this hotel, in fact, we enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked to stay there over Christmas next year. To all staff at the Pier House Hotel a massive thank you.

This is a fabulous place to stay in lovely Charlestown. The hotel, bar and amenities are excellent. There is a lively terrace to have a drink and something to eat while you soak up the views of the sea and harbour. The staff are all lovely and make you feel very much at home. We have visited before and it’s nice to pick up conversations with staff who make the effort to make you feel welcome. It’s an ideal place to stay if you are visiting the Eden Project or if you want a base to explore the St Austell and Fowey area. The rooms are very nicely decorated and feel plush. There is also free parking at the sister pub up the road, the Rashleigh Inn. All in all - top place to stay and lovely people!

Lovely place and lovely helpful staff. Went to an Eden session at Eden Project and the rooms at Pier House Hotel had dry robes that we were able to take to the concert as the weather wasn’t great. Lovely touch!
