The breakfast was top quality and varied, and the service was excellent. nice bar and snug. Our rooms had their own landing and felt nice and private. Big TV, great shower. Would definitely stay again.

Great location The hotel need to sort parking out it was great when could use sports club ,it would be only reason I would not use again

It was an evening away for new year with my hubby, the room was extremely small but nicely decorated, the mattress was very uncomfortable( my husband woke to a stiff back) the bathroom was modern with a great shower The bar area had very limited seating which was awkward and the christmas tree lights were not working which isn't very festive for new year. Food was lovely and fortunately resurrected the stay if im honest.

A pleasant surprise. Rooms basic and clean, comfortable bed. Looks can deceive although a plain exterior this has a charming interior. Good quality steak restaurant and bar. Staff know their menu and allergy status.

Hotel situated in a good spot. Free parking, recently refurbished room, tea/ coffee replenished each day. Great breakfast, even catered for my dog. Lovely staff, very friendly, nothing too much bother

Great location in centre of Cockermouth with 24hr parking for £6.60 in public car park across the road. Fabulous, modern decorated hotel with friendly chap at check in. Gorgeous room with amazing shower (221 was at top of hotel and was very quiet). Had a super nights sleep and a wonderful hearty breakfast the next morning. Highly recommended.

Everything was great on our weekend stay all the staff were lovely and welcomed our dog also Couldn’t have asked for more

In the centre of Cockermouth, friendly staff, very clean, smart and recently done up (some bits still WIP) room was clean and comfortable, modern bathroom. We didn’t have breakfast, but the restaurant looked nice. The bar was warm and comfortable, all in all, a good hotel, in a great location and Cockermouth is a fabulous town, interesting original shops and galleries…Will definitely be there again.

The hotel is very central in Cockermouth and handy for walks in Buttermere. The single room was basic but perfectly adequate and in good condition. The only drawback was that there was no provision for breakfast , especially a problem on Sunday morning. Furthermore I wanted to make an early start and there was nobody available to settle my bill. Fortunately I had some cash which I left in an envelope so all was well but others need to be aware of this especially at the weekend.

Couldn't fault it. Lovely hotel in great surroundings and very relaxing. Large rooms, bed and bathroom meticulously clean, friendly helpful staff and great breakfast! Exceptional value for money and will look forward to visiting this hotel again. Thank you!

Upgraded to delightful spacious executive room with spotless roomy bathroom. Pleasant outlook over patio. Delicious evening meal with efficient staff. Excellent options for plentiful breakfast served by very friendly staff, particularly Beth. Highly recommend this establishment.

Had a lovely time! The staff were very friendly and attentive. Really do rate them and the breakfast was lovely The floor wasn’t as clean as it could be, shower items were not replaced for our second day and 2 single beds were pushed together to make a double but sadly not the same height so was very uncomfortable.

The hotel was very clean and tidy. Th bedroom was exceptionally good. The staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond what they needed to do. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Very clean and comfortable. Helpful staff. Just a small suggestion, maybe a mug in the room to make a drink in. I only had a small cup, no saucer.

Stayed as a couple at The Allerdale Court Hotel the same time last year. Had a wonderful time so were keen to return. A few days before we arrived we were contacted to say new owners were no longer doing breakfast but there would be a £14 per person refund. Slightly disappointed after have a tasty breakfast last time, but there are plenty of other nearby places to get brekkie (we went to Fika, which was fab). We requested a quiet room at back of hotel again, as slept really well last time. The street noise from nearby bars at front of hotel seems to go on til late. There were only 2 rooms in our area at back of hotel (room 217), but annoyingly, 2 lads - assuming they were young by voices, arrived back at 12:45am. Wouldn’t have been too bad if they gone straight to sleep but they talked loudly for what felt like an hour. At 6:30am one of their alarms went off and rather than switching it off, they kept it on snooze for 30 mins before eventually getting up, showering and what felt like trying to make as much noise as they possibly could for the next 30 mins. Thank the Lord, they left at 7:30 but my husband was up at 8am to do the local Parkrun! When mentioned at reception on our way to Fika for breakfast, a coffee was offered. Surely if you have a quiet part of the hotel you wouldn’t put 2 young lads there? Goodness knows how much noise anyone above & below room 218 experienced! Unsure if we’ll bother to return, which is a real shame.

I would recommend this hotel , it’s worthy of my five star rating The hotel is conveniently situated for buttermere and other lakes plus catbells. The hotel is clean , I booked a small single bed room and it had everything I needed for weekend stay . The staff are so friendly and helpful, it made my stay so enjoyable. We also used Blocks steakhouse, and it was excellent food .

Bed too soft. Pillows hard. Noisy from other rooms. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff

Nice hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a large recently renovated room overlooking the courtyard which was lovely and quiet. Generous tasty breakfast.

We had another fantastic stay at the Allerdale Court Hotel. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Breakfast is now not included at the hotel which was disappointing as we have had a lovely breakfast there last time

This hotel is well placed in Cockermouth with everything you need a stones throw away. Hotel itself has a very good restaurant called Blocks up one door fantastic Chinese and Thai restaurant Called Bamboo next to there a fantastic pub called the Castle bar great atmosphere and friendly staff as was the case of all the places we visited. Breakfast at the hotel first class and arrived promptly by the friendly staff. The one thing that spoilt our visit was the lack of sleep caused by the most uncomfortable bed that we have ever slept in the mattresses were past their best years ago. Room 213 give that one a miss. Come on management get your act together. The most important thing in a hotel is THE BED. You have everything else right so why not fix the problem.

Lovely place and nice staff. Breakfast was delicious. The only issue was that our double bed was 2 single matresses pushed together and they were slight different heights.

Good location. Booked and paid for early check in but room wasn’t ready after the agreed time. Not very organised at reception. Room was lovely, spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable. We ate at the adjoining Block steakhouse restaurant that evening and although food was good the staff let the whole experience down, especially at then end of our main course when the room was being prepared for a big party coming in tables, chairs and cutlery was being set up around in very loudly and when we were finishing our drinks we were asked to move to the bar. Breakfast was a good selection and tasty. The next morning when checking out we were questioned whether we’d paid the early check in fee and to pay for three packets of crisps which apparently had been charged to our room…when we viewed the receipt it was from several days earlier and not during our stay. So although the hotel room itself was clean and comfortable I feel more staff training is needed.

Be aware, if travelling with older people you may want to book an executive room which are located on the ground floor, it being an old building other floors can be difficult! Breakfast was also lovely, even catering for my Vegan tastes! Thank you all again!

Great value for money. Rooms were excellent and very comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. Only down side was when going to bed, the room next door had obviously left their dog in the room alone where it was very distressed and hitting itself off of the door. No one was around reception on check out either.

Don’t stay here on a Saturday night if you want a peaceful night and not to be worken up at 5.30am on a Sunday morning with builders drilling and working outside the hotel doors. Hotel not interested and do not bother to reply to emails regarding complaint .

Nice, refurbished room and bathroom. It would have been better if there was storage in the bedroom and bathroom. The staff were delightful. Breakfast was very good. Shame the restaurant is not open on Mondays and Tuesday as is the case with several of the other restaurants in Cockermouth.
