Enjoyed our stay at the hotel, although theres ongoing work been carried out this didn't affect our stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel will be superb once all the work is completed and we will look forward to returning once this is done.

An excellent location (except for Workington!) for access to the Lake District. The staff were all great, helpful and generous. Good bar and Sunday roast. I just hope the planned renovation doesn't ruin the atmosphere and period features. We'd definitely go back there.

This is the second time my wife & I have stayed at Hunday Manor and it won’t be the last! Despite the fact that the hotel is undergoing some major renovations, the main areas are unaffected and the staff so friendly. The breakfast is also worth a mention which a wide variety of options, including continental and cook to order full English. We highly recommend this hotel, which is situated in a quiet countryside location on the outskirts of Workington.

The property is undergoing refurbishment and our room (room 21) was very much in need of it with big chunks out of the wall plaster. Whilst some folk would prefer, the bed was very hard but bedding was comfortable and appeared new. The bath has large chips in the main areas and looks very tired. The over bath shower had sufficient pressure but the shower hot water controller was broken allowing a luke warm shower only. The hotel prefers hand pump toiletry bottles but all four pumps appeared to be broken but came out easily from their holders for direct access. I was especially annoyed that our door had been left open, presumably all day. Nothing was missing but the security of our possessions should have been secure.

We booked this hotel as a last minute break away. The reception, bar and lounge areas were lovely, clean and relaxing but the bedrooms are looking abit tired and were clean.The hotel did inform us and there were photographs of what the hotel will look like after the refurbishment which is due to start in 2025 on display. The staff were amazing, friendly and attentive.

Lovely spot and will be amazing when the work is complete Our room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was great and freshly cooked to order and all the staff were pleasant and helpful. Yes there is a lot of building work/renovations taking place but we knew that beforehand and no issue.

This was a great find for a last minute overnight stay. The room and bathroom have been refurbished to an extremely high standard. A few snaggings needing attention in the bathroom were pointed out to reception but I wouldn’t downgrade because of these. The breakfast was delicious and very friendly staff. Overall a lovely visit.

The room was decent size. The mattress needs changing immediately as it made my spine bend and I am not heavy!! Breakfast was very good with good vegetarian choices. Well inside the main road so it was quiet.

Staff were lovely as was the bar and dining room. Breakfast good too. In the room you could hear every word and cough from rooms next door. The mattress was not the best and the one side was so soft at the edge that you were prone to rolling off it so a poor nights sleep. A further problem was the fan in the bathroom, on a visiting during the early hours it remained on on long after the light was switched off. In the end we had to turn off the power in the room to stop it.

It was a 2 hour+ drive but so well worth it. It's a lovely old building with stunning views over fields to the sea. Beautiful warm weather for early March so we sat outside with a bottle of wine and watched the sunset. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We had bed breakfast and evening meal. The food was excellent, freshly made from a very appetising menu. Large, comfortable, well-appointed bedroom with en suite. We had a peaceful sleep, as it was lovely and quiet. Well priced, great value for money. We are hoping to return very soon.

This was the perfect location and the only reason we have reduced the Property Condition and Facilities score, is due to on going major renovations. The renovation plans look amazing and we can’t wait to revisit once they are complete. All in all a lovely place to stay.

An excellent location (except for Workington!) for access to the Lake District. The staff were all great, helpful and generous. Good bar and Sunday roast. I just hope the planned renovation doesn't ruin the atmosphere and period features. We'd definitely go back there.

We stayed for 6 days over Easter. The hotel is surrounded by countryside and a few buildings nearby yet is close to Whitehaven. The views are lovely - out to sea and across to Scotland. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were always very friendly. We ate in the hotel most nights, enjoying the well-presented tasty food. My food intolerances were well taken care of. The Rosehill Theatre is not far away and we enjoyed our visit there. The garden is going to be landscaped so wasn't very inviting; the hotel is in process of refurbishment although we weren't inconvenienced by any ongoing work. We felt very relaxed staying there. It was convenient for days out walking and sightseeing.

Hotel is going through a multi-million pound makeover, but there was no impact on our stay. Hotel staff and bar staff were amazing. Breakfast was a bit chaotic. Staff were doing their best, but it was very very busy. Got a very clean room with amazing views out to sea.

It was a 2 hour+ drive but so well worth it. It's a lovely old building with stunning views over fields to the sea. Beautiful warm weather for early March so we sat outside with a bottle of wine and watched the sunset. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We had bed breakfast and evening meal. The food was excellent, freshly made from a very appetising menu. Large, comfortable, well-appointed bedroom with en suite. We had a peaceful sleep, as it was lovely and quiet. Well priced, great value for money. We are hoping to return very soon.

The room was great, bed very comfy, bathroom had a good shower. We had a meal in the restaurant and the service was slow. The food was generally agreed to be very good, one of the starters was small and not very hot. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to friends.
