This is a lovely hotel in a very pleasant and accessible location.

Room is well appointed but very hot despite the fan. Sleep was interrupted due to room temperature. Staff helpful.

Great find- total suprise! I chose this hotel almost by chance, mainly because it was close to the airport after a late arrival, and it turned out to be a lovely surprise. The pub is beautifully renovated, cosy and full of character, while the hotel itself is in a separate building just behind it, making it wonderfully quiet. Everything felt fresh, spotless and well maintained, and the room was comfortable and spacious enough. We unfortunately didn’t have time to explore Old Harlow, but even the little we saw had that beautiful, romantic old English atmospherelike the hotel and the pub. A very pleasant stay and an easy recommendation.

When we arrived the reception lady was nice and helpful, it went down hill from there, we had traveled 200+ miles so we went to the restaurant, the server asked what drinks we wanted looking over my shoulder at the bar area where some young guys were, we waited 20 minutes then another girl asked if we were OK, we asked for our drinks and could we order some food, my wife's was nice, mine was a pie without any filling, I returned it and the lady who sorted our drinks tried to sort out my meal, but advised the pies were all the same, so I had chicken, which arrived 20 minutes later the second lady we had was fantastic we could not fault her concern or service she was a real star, So back to the room, the receptionist had changed to a man who grunted at us and stunk of fags, so to the room, there were some leaves under the table and a bit of dust/crud (Possible sandy from a building site) on the carpet, OK lets get to bed it's late we are knackered, we both showered no issues, in the morning I had a shave and the sink blocked up, OK I had not had a shave for 2 days but ???? What a pity we use this chain possible 10 nights a year and this was the worst service we have received, very disappointing, apart from out super star of a second server and initial receptionist I can only call the service poor
