I hate paying to park my car... Yes only £6 and if it was a secure barrier controlled car park I could understand the need for upkeep but this is just a stealth charge to stay.

Friendly staff but not enough disabled parking and there was a car in the disabled bay with no blue badge which I did inform reception when I checked in and they said they would check it out and they apologised There must have been a function on as the car park was packed full

Got to hotel early so knew we couldn’t check in but thought we would go to restaurant and have coffee and sandwich, as we hadn’t eaten at all and travelled several hours. No restaurant open we was told it didn’t open until 5pm. Had to travel into town to find somewhere. Anyhow when we returned turned out bar opened at 3.30. No one on reception seemed to know what’s what. We returned to hotel in the evening expecting a night cap in the bar to find it shut at 10.30pm. Other than that bed comfy

Air conditioning not working Parents with new born will have to carry the baby pram on the stairs

Restaurant closed as had coach party but no notice given told to order at bar but only 1 guy serving at the time of the England match and told food could take about an hour reception staff arranged for me to join the coach party so I could take my medication with a meal .could have been better organised

The property was decent, and the staff were accommodating. I wish they had an elevator or another entrance to the far end of the hotel. Walking back and forth to my room was kind of a trek. Nice place to stay though.

Little annoying things such as resetting key card every day, havingvto request extra towels every day for 2 people. Bar closed at 9.00pm because the barmaid did not want to stay even though there were over 30 paying customers in the bar

We should have done a better research on the hotel area. The room was fine, clean and had everything you would require. However was surprised to be charged for parking, also didn't feel that the car was in a particularly safe area. Please be aware that there was no lift at the property, we had to take our bags up several flights of stairs. Breakfast was OK, we had this included in our rate (although the receptionist tried to get us to pay for breakfast again!). To be fair, for the money we paid our stay was acceptable.

It was just off the M11 - convenient for where we were going- was ok for one night- room & linen was clean. Good choice for breakfast. Be warned- you have to pay for parking at the hotel!!

Really slow check-in. OK breakfast. A looong walk to the room, but on the ground floor, with three steps to negotiate if you've mobility issues. Mine was a dog-friendly room that if she'd been with me ours would have appreciated. Carpets worn, general feeling was of the Hotel being a little tired, though lobby and bar areas were smart. Easy, secure, parking, and good value pricing being close to London, Stanstead, and the M11. I had their Caesar Salad for my supper, from a limited bar menu, and it really wasn't very good (but filled a hole!) I'd try somewhere else should I have to travel down to Harlow again.

This is a basic hotel, suitable for an overnight stay. The hotel itself is dated and general signs of wear and tear can be seen. Beds were okay, got a decent night sleep. Positives: They provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash. The room had air con which is a plus in the summer. Plugs by the bed which is helpful as someone with sleep apnea. Good selection of tea and coffee. Downsides: our room was a decent walk due to the set up of the building. Corridor smelt of illegal substances. The person who checked us in wasn’t very welcoming, didn’t give us a good feel of the place on arrival. When we opened the curtains all the way in the morning, there was a pair of someone else’s socks with mould growing, I did inform reception though and felt like they would have passed it on to housekeeping.

When we arrived we were told the twin room we booked wasn’t available. We were given a room that had multiple maintenance issues and was dirty with some dirty socks left on the floor. I reported all issues but nobody from the hotel has bothered to contact me yet.

The hotel was fine, but lots of little niggles keep it from being great. It is noisy, the air con didn’t work, the bath tap dripped, you can hear water noises in the pipes, the pillows were quite lumpy and there was a strong & unpleasant smell in the corridor. I didn’t feel unsafe, but I also didn’t explore the hotel facilities as I was there for 1 night of work. The carpet was new and the room was clean. I slept decently. It was fine. I wouldn’t book again as there are many better hotels in the area.

On arrival/check in the member of staff on the deck was rude and not very forthcoming with information regarding my stay, like breakfast times and where to find the room. After finding the room I got inside to find a stained carpet and the room had a damp smell, this was bad enough for me to carry my bags back to the front deck and ask for a different room. When asked why I showed the rude woman a video I took of the carpet. Her reply was it’s not a dirty carpet but just an old carpet. The second room that I was given was just as bad. I did ask for my money back but was told they couldn’t because the booking was made through a third party. I’m going to upload all of the photos I took of the rooms. I also want to mention the photos on the website don’t not reflect this hotel at all.

There was a very bad smell in the corridor . The rooms stinked. Told reception . Nothing was done about it

Stay was horrid, staff were not great at all, had to wait to check in whilst girl chatted to a friend, got to took my door was open, went down for food and a drink no staff had to wait to ask the girl on desk again who was still talking to her friend, waited another 5 minutes to get food and a drink, food was Terrible, and hotel stank of weed

The room was noisy, kept awake by the traffic, tv is freveiw and has no access to netflix or any other streaming platform, i have stayed in cheaper hotels and had that option, not asking you to pay for it, but at least have the option to allowme to sign in the my own account, can do this at premier inn or holiday express, and the cheaper place i stayed the night before and will be staying tonight, as only £50, breakfast was ok, parking bays are tiny just about get out of you car

I was charged the wrong price at check in. Too much. When I queried this he then had to check if I could stay at the price I had booked. The room was freezing. I had the heating on all day and all night and it didn’t work and the room didn’t warm up.

Really quiet rooms, super clean, only downside was the mattress was pretty firm.

Hotel rooms need updating. Aid con was broken. Whole hotel got woken up at 6.30 am due to broken fire alarm. Hotel staff are fully aware that the alarm is faulty.

Why charge overnight guests for parking? Bathroom decor tired and needs refurb, barely any flow from the hot water tap in the sink The room was clean, friendly staff.

Budget hotel comfortable clean room was a good size. Single beds small size single width wise room would easily accommodate the larger bed.

I stayed 1night and that was very plesant. My room was clean bed very firm and comfortable. What I found a bit strange there was only 2 electrical outlets and they were at the table far away from the bed, if you put your phone to charge you had to get up to check.

The room was very clean an we got everything we need. The hotel bar was nice and the employees were very friendly. Over all we had a nice stay. But a view things wasn' t that good. The door to our room was a bit heavy to open and close. The door to the bathroom was also hard to close or couldn't be closed. Unfortunately it was quite noisy - we could hear the noise from the streets all night. We wasn't happy with the heating. If it was on, it was too hot an the air was too dry. Without the heating it was too cold. But this were minor things for us.

It’s a good hotel - and the manager is fantastic (no, we’re not family!) I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Not the best start, we arrived Friday and the reception charged me nearly the same price for my room as the price for 2 that was booked even though I showed confirmation. One room the door wouldn’t lock and could be pushed open without using key, when questioned at reception I was told to wait and someone would see me, half hour later we eventually had to the explain again to someone about the door not closing, after a time we asked to be given another room only to be told there wasn’t one and when I said I wanted a refund and I would go somewhere else miraculously they found a new room. Staff are not friendly also in the bar we got a drink and the service was terrible with our glasses and bottles being slammed on the bar. No smiles either civility doesn’t cost anything. For a stay that should have cost £300. they tried to charge £364. Hotels.com please be aware they are blaming you for sending the wrong prices to them, I eventually got my money back from them. Also breakfast was a shambles, food not hot and looked like it wasn’t cooked properly, today we waited for 20 mins to even be seen to let them know we arrived, eventually we walked out and went to the local Tesco cafe for a well cooked and hot breakfast. Overall I think this hotel needs a massive shake up and staff need to be retrained to treat people with respect and I and all of my friends will definitely never stay there again. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Never ever ever will I stay there.

Staff need some lessons in customer service

The staff were lovely and made booking in a pleasant experience. The room was spacious and clean, but smelled a little musty. Could have done with an airing first. Bed was comfortable. The power cut first thing in the morning was a bit of a challenge but it did eventually get sorted. The midday checkout made life a lot easier. I couldn’t stay for breakfast because I had already made other plans so I can’t really comment on it but I’m sure it would’ve been nice. I would book again if I was going to be in the area again. Overall a pleasant hotel.

Is a nice and quiet hotel but you need to plan for Uber to move around transportation difficult here

Great value place to stay. Easy access from M11. Reception staff welcoming. Plenty of parking. Classic Twin Room clean with just what you need. Bed fairly comfortable. Quiet. Happy days.

Towels were changed and bed was made for 2nd day, which was lovely Hotel itself looks tired Breakfast was poorly managed, tables not cleared and food not restocked quicky enough

Quite tidy, but does need updating. Staff were nice, but stretched. Food in the evening (cod & chips) was mainly batter with not good mushy peas. Breakfast, good selection and okay.

No food available when though we were told the restaurant was open until 20:30 and we requested food at 8pm. No choice at the bar, no lime, stood at the bar for 10 mins before anyone came to serve us. Generally tired hotel. Breakfast was average at best and coffee machines didn’t work properly and the drinks were Luke warm. Bread was moldy. Very noisy at night and woke up to noisy waste disposal outside the room.

Check in was quite time consuming, the chap didn’t really know what to do and didn’t offer any info on what time breakfast was and where our room was etc.. we have stayed a few times, and we have always thought the hotel very tired and run down so wasn’t expecting much especially for the price we paid, but was pleasantly surprised, it looks like the place has been repainted and freshened up. Breakfast was a shambles, one young lady having to deal with everything, the hot plate was always empty as people waiting for food and then as soon as it was bought out it obviously went straight away, no knives on any tables, not enough seating for everyone, when food was available it was very tasty.

It is really a wonderful place to stay. And their breakfast is really good
