Decor and furnishings all in keeping with the Tudor theme. Food was excellent. Staff very helpful and pleasant. No lift - so check suitability if you cannot manage stairs.

Old Tudor hotel in centre of Tewkesbury. Although you got the feel of a Tudor property, the rooms & bathrooms have been refurbished with modern fittings, & walk in showers. No lifts & bedrooms over two floors so there can be quite a few steps. All staff very friendly, helpful & polite. Bar closed 10.30pm even for residents Thursday which was a surprise. Night porter had to let us in & just said most places close 10.30pm mid week. Most hotels I stay at serve to residents, even if it is just night porter serving drinks. Eco friendly, with eco setting on shower & option to skip the daily clean. As we were there three nights we just skipped clean as bathroom towel rail dried towels. Breakfast cooked fresh & was very good with fresh fruit, pastries, cereals & several choices of hot food as well as juices & fresh coffee etc. Evening meal on other hand left a lot to be desired. The pie was recommended by the waitress, but we were very disappointed, as was another guest we were talking to at breakfast. Fair play to the management though, when he heard how the pie was described, what was served & how we all felt about it, he refunded the meal without hesitation. He promised to find out what went wrong as he was genuinely surprised. I have no doubt, the pie will be much better if we stay again on our next trip to the races. The hotel is ideally placed on the high street with lots of shops, bars, restaurants and the river, all nearby. I would happily stay at the hotel again.

The Tudor House is an excellent hotel, as are the others from the Coaching Inn group that I've used. Free parking, high quality standard of furnishings, decor etc and the friendliness of the staff is splendid. We would be happy to stay again. Many thanks.

Lovely stay, very clean and welcoming, great food and service, for me only slight negative very little parking onsite, but within 4 minute walk, will stay again!!

Have stayed here a few times now. Great hotel in town. Lovely helpful staff, good food. Would benefit from a bigger car park but that's the town centre location really.

Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful with their local knowledge. Food was of a good standard and the rooms were well equipped and very comfortable. We took out little dog with us and they made her feel very welcome too!

Beautiful property, Tudor and Georgian details, if you like historical buildings then this is the perfect place. Staff were lovely, and the hotel was clean. Parking at the rear of the property. Restaurants just down the high street. View from our room overlooked the Malvern Hills and the River Avon. So peaceful. Highly recommend.

There is no air conditioning and being on the top floor with l1 small window it was hot. Their fans were not fit for purpose. With an adequate fan it would be more bearable. Parking is very limited. With an old property adequate fans that move air are a necessity, especially if you have a small window in the loft.

The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The rooms are lovely, well stocked and very clean. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere. The huge bed is very comfortable and the bathroom has a luxurious feel, as do the toiletries.

Inconsiderate guests at 0530 (not hotel’s fault) being very noisy. At 0700 heating came on and sounded like pouring water into a tin bath, still like it at 0830. Shower was hopeless, only had a decent spray when very cold, when warm you just got a trickle.

We had a room in the roof with only a skylight and no window. Hot, stifling and claustrophobic. Bathroom was unclean, and shower only dribbled out water. No staff on reception and they were too busy elsewhere to attend to us. Very disappointing.

The room was clean, well appointed and pet friendly, which was a positive. The real ales in the bar were tasty and well kept. However, the bathroom sink was blocked and there was a general smell of drains, that we asked to be reviewed, and wasn’t resolved.

We had a nice stay but we did have to ask the room to be hoover when we arrived .. also only 1 water left .. tissue box empty.. Cobwebs hanging from the ceiling other than that nice hotel

Just a one night stay which we thoroughly enjoyed. Very comfortable room (Room 106), well furnished and very clean. All staff very friendly helpful. Superb breakfast - full marks.

What a lovely place to stay. Comfortable beds, lovely bedrooms and full of character. The breakfast was cooked fresh to order and was superb.

A lovely hotel, full of character in the heart of Tewkesbury. The room was very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. I was impressed at how bottled water and tea bags etc were topped up everyday (not something that happens in every hotel in my experience). The staff were very friendly, helpful and obliging, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant had a good selection of dishes for dinner. The hotel is close to the bus stop for Cheltenham and Gloucester.

Third visit here, The room is in need of a deep clean. Mentioned to staff on check out. Disappointing to see the decline here.

Beautiful bedroom with four poster bed, that was super comfortable. The room was lovely and large. The bathroom had bath tub and shower, and was very clean with lovely toiletries. We stayed in room 101 and would definitely stay again.

What lovely warm welcome we had at this hotel from the receptionist, we arrived earlier than we thought and went in to ask if ok to park the car , what a nice surprise our room was actually ready ! The room was so clean smelt lovely and had tea coffee (nespresso machine) hot choc and biscuits! There was a radio in the room playing music which is a nice touch ! We didn’t eat here but had a drink in the cosy bar , again really friendly and welcoming staff! The town and shops are right on the doorstep definitely a perfect location and walking distance to shops restaurants and the Abbey! We will def be back and recommend you stay here we loved it !!

We stayed in a double room at the back of the property with a view of the river. The room was very well equipped with tea, coffee and biscuits as well as a bottle of water for both of us. There was ample hanging space in the wardrobe and a large cupboard if needed. The bathroom was sizeable with a bath with overhead shower. Located in the centre of Tewkesbury it was convenient. We didn't eat here as we have relatives we were visiting but we did look at the menu and felt it looked good and was a reasonable price. We would choose to stay here again.

This is a lovely, quirky, hotel in a historic building and right in the centre of Tewkesbury. We stayed there in 33 degree heat so our rooms were really hot despite being provided a fan. Unfortunately our pillows were really hard and uncomfortable so we didn’t sleep well. If the pillows were soft and fluffy, I’d give this a much higher rating.

The room, hotel, service and price were all very good and I would recommend. My only fault was that the room was too hot and the window didn’t open. I did report this but it was not resolved. Faults can occur but I did not sleep well due to the uncomfortable temperature. I would stay here again, it was overall a very welcoming place and faults can be rectified in time.

Very smartly refurbished historic building. Our room was a little on the small side with tiny windows - but not a lot they could about that. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom very nicely equipped. We especially liked the small finishing touches - like the digital radio and the pressure operated bathroom light. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food.

We were visiting to attend a party and as we had plenty of notice decided to splash out on the best room. It was huge - I could hardly see my wife on the other side! We loved the 4 poster bed (also huge) and the classy period furnture. The bathroom was well apointed and everything worked well. The automatic lightsvareva good idea, and my wife enjoyed the bath. The only minor issue wss with yhe windows which are secondary glazed for the winter, but some of the glazing was broken, which made the room quite hot in the summer. However, if we go back to Tewkesbury again, I suspect that we'll have to book this room again. Breakfast was good with top quality local produce.

Nice welcome by friendly bar tender Couldn’t get parked in hotel car park but was about a minutes walk away in a long stay car park Stayed in room 207 . Very comfy bed . Pretty room with modern bathroom Lots of choices of tea and coffee though strangely only 1 packet of biscuits for the two of us . Was very hot in the room but water bottles had been left and the fan turned on and we opened the window . I would recommend and would stay again

Loved staying in the hotel but couldn’t always find a member of staff

Had a 3 night stay. All the staff are lovely, however the duty manager who checked us in kelly i think was exceptional she is a credit to the hotel. She saw us every day and took time to see how we were and how our day had been. My partner has medical food intolerances and she went the extra mile to make sure she got what she could eat. She even on the evening we checked in moved her car so we could use her space and not have to park on the street. Thank you

Stunning building, beautifully decorated. Great location, right on the high street. Well equipped room. Firm mattress (perfect for us) but pillows were quite hard. Breakfast service was slow, full English was tasty, but could have been hotter, good continental choices, but tea was really weak (1 teabag in a full teapot!! ) All in all, a lovely stay, staff were friendly & we would definitely stay again.

Good customer service upon arrival, but disappointing experience at breakfast and confusion over our booking. We were greeted with friendly and helpful service when we arrived, and we had booked two nights under separate reservations. At check-in, we confirmed with staff that this had been sorted, and we would not need to change rooms or check in again. However, at 1:00 PM the following day, we received a knock at our door from the duty manager and two housekeeping staff who said they were unaware of our second booking. This caused unnecessary confusion and stress, especially since we believed the matter had already been handled. I had to locate and show my email confirmation to prove we were staying a second night, something that should have been easily verified in the system by staff. Additionally, breakfast was a letdown. When we arrived at 8:45 AM, the buffet was poorly stocked, with only one slice of melon, a single yogurt, and two croissants left. No effort was made to replenish any of the items, despite breakfast being served until 9:30 AM. This fell far short of expectations and did not reflect the level of service we anticipated.

This was our second stay at the Tudor House Hotel. This time we were on a long journey on the way home from a from France and had arrived off the ferry in Plymouth at 6am. When we arrived at the hotel we managed to find a place in the car park and as we were early, we went to check this was ok at reception. The deputy Manager Nisha was very welcoming, she could see that we were very tired and said she would arrange for an earlier check in for us. We went for brunch and for a look around the Abbey and our beautiful room was ready for us when we got back. Her kindness and professionalism meant so much to us during our long journey home. This hotel goes the extra mile to look after its guests. Thank you Nisha

We loved this hotel and the staff were wonderful

We had problems with dining. It took 2 hours to get our dinner and one of our entrees was incorrect. The owner took something off the bill but they were definitely having issues in the kitchen. Our room was exquistite.

Our 2 night stay was excellent, all staff seemed very nice in particular the manager where nothing seemed too much trouble and he made you feel welcome. Would definitely stay again.

Room just as pictured in this lovely, old hotel, full of charm and character. Beautifully refurbished with quality fabrics in keeping with the style. Dinner and breakfast delicious and staff attentive and friendly. Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere inside and out as ample seating on terrace and secret garden for alfresco drinks or food. On high street for convenience visiting. Could not fault. Highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning place to stay. Room was beautiful and spotless! Lovely touches with radio, games, books, choice of hot beverages, water in room and loved the ducks. Restaurant/bar was amazing. Staff polite and very helpful. Only disappointment was cooked breakfast. Hot breakfast choice was excellent but eggs weren’t cooked right. Poached eggs on all breakfasts were cold and hard. Such a shame but wouldn’t put me off staying again, just wouldn’t book for breakfast.

Lovely old building, renovated to be very comfortable. Not accessible due to age. Many little steps qnd uneven floors as expected. Staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful. Bed very comfortable. In room refreshments lovely....biscuits, chocolate bars, nespresso coffee machine, teapigs tea. It would have been nice to have a fridge in the room for fresh milk instead of tiny uht pots. Breakfast was very good too with a good choice. Full English, eggs benedict etc. We had dinner there on the first night which was ok, but not special. I had a vegan burger because the normal burger was unavailable. My partners choice was also unavailable and his preferred beer was not available either. His steak was ok, pepper sauce very odd. My burger also had an odd flavour. Overall though a really enjoyable stay qnd i would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was fascinating with its history on display through pictures, art, antiques and the quirkiness of a centuries old building. We enjoyed Sunday roast dinner and the full breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with local advice. Our room was a mixture of antique decorations and a very modern bathroom filled with amenities. It was the perfect base for exploring the surrounding countryside and our crazy experiences at the famous cheese roll. I highly recommend a stay!
