The pool was cold for my entire stay with no information prior to my arrival, I would say the hotel is nice from the outside and the rooms are spacious.

The only reason I chose this hotel was due to the Spa. When I got there I discovered both the sauna and the steam room were out of order. No notification when booking, no notification between booking and arrival date, no notification when I arrived. In my first night I went to the health spa, got changed, showered, and walked to the sauna and the note taped to the door was the first indication. Total waste of time and money, very poor to not communicate it. Also the menu is worse than a kids menu in a basic country pub. Such a disappointment and I wouldn’t heave dreamt of booking here if I’d have known.

Very friendly check in, beautiful surroundings and comfortable stay. Our granddaughter loved being able to feed the numerous peacocks with the free food provided at reception. Our only disappointment was the pool was freezing. I think they were having problems at the time but we had booked our trip because of the pool and couldnt stand being in there for more than 10 minutes hopefully that will be sorted for future guests. Also the unisex changing rooms is a strange arrangement

The staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was comfortable, clean and very big, for some reason we didn’t have a Nespresso machine but our son’s room did despite the rooms being the same. The swimming pool was lovely but the water heater had broken down so we didn’t get much use out of it but the sauna and steam room were much appreciated- really enjoyed it. The exterior is beautiful - helped by the peacocks around every corner. We are looking forward to returning to Pendley Manor.

Lovely warm welcome from staff. Our stay had dinner and breakfast included which was fab. Particularly the dinner, lovely options - we’d recommend the fish and chips, lamb shank and chicken. The chips are unreal! The room was lovely also. Came with a nespresso machine and complimentary sparkling water. The pool was also very clean and calming. We didn’t use the gym or sauna. This was our baby moon and we’d highly recommend it as a little getaway. Particularly around autumn/ winter - it had such a cosy feel to it!

Food in the bar and restaurant was excellent. Building is attractive and peacocks everywhere is fun. Appreciated the pool and sauna/steam rooms. Bed comfortable, room can be made cool and dark. Had an issue with our keys not working but they fixed it quickly. Wish breakfast and checkout ran a hour later. Would stay again.

Staff are super friendly, food was expensive, bar is small and beer was not good, but again staff were very good. Family room had 2 doubles, king size beds would have been a big plus given the high price.

We only stayed for one night, but was excellent from start to finish. Dinner and breakfast were very good, very friendly staff and had a wander around the grounds mingling with the peacocks before we left which finished off an excellent stay.

Staff all very friendly and helpful. Description of room needs changing. Not all bedrooms have a bath/shower combination. Some only have a shower. Hotel was able to change our room to one with a bath. Also description states that bed has sheets. They don’t. They have a duvet, not topsheet and duvet. They did provide us one but had to ask twice. Parking can be a problem if there is a conference, but just ask reception and they will find you a space.

Since our last stay, lots of work has been done to improve the interior of the hotel and this has really paid off, the decoration is pleasant. Our room was nicely furnished with good quality bedding and was extremely clean! Breakfast was really good, a great buffet selection and all the staff we met during our stay were polite and friendly. They lose a star for the meagre supply of tea & coffee in the room and also because our shower tray was very slow to drain away which caused a small flood! We’ll definitely be back though!

Such beautiful tranquil settings in the Hertfordshire countryside. From the moment you drive into the long drive towards the hotel to arriving at the reception its so beautiful. The peacocks add a lovely touch and the garden setting was lovely on a nice warm summers day. The hotel smelled so lovely and fresh and the rooms was air conditioned and so cool upon arriving. Great shower amenities. I would definitely stay here again

Room itself was nice and spacious but there was a terrible smell from the bathroom which can only be described as poor waste water management. We only discovered it on returning from our evening meal at 11.30pm by which time it was too late to move. I had to leave the window open all night to try and remove the smell which wasn't ideal as there was a band playing behind in one of the function rooms. We reported it the next day but reception wasn’t that interested. On arrival we also requested robes to use in the spa and we were advised there wasn’t enough so they couldn't fulfil the request. Pool and sauna area was nice and clean. Definitely a one off stay I wouldn’t return as I don't think the service matched 4 stars.

We received a lovely warm welcome when we arrived. We were also pleasantly surprised to hear that the children could eat breakfast for free this month. The pool area was clean and the games rooms and gym were great (although whilst on the treadmill, the motion lights went off leaving me in the dark). It’s a shame that the breakfast is £22 per adult. This is quite high in price so we chose not to eat at the hotel. The room was mostly clean although a funny noise on arrival was discovered by us - a child’s walkie talkie had been left on and under the bed by the previous guests! Also, the sink drained rather slowly and the toilet seat was coming off slightly. Other than this we had a great stay and all the staff were very helpful.

Very nice stay. Staff were wonderful and so polite. Fridge didn't work in the room and a bit of a strange smell in the corridor but didn't detract from the overall stay. Swimming pool nice and warm and sauna clean. Would like to see more degradable packaging on the free bath hair gels in the room. Breakfast excellent and again breakfast staff superb.

We booked a suite, which I personally found disappointing - I was hoping for a 'special' room with character, but it was effectively just a larger version of a pretty standard double. The hotel was nice and the grounds well kept. Quaint, but I was hoping for more of a unique stay as it was our wedding night, but hey ho.

Pendley Manor is set on really beautiful grounds, with a charming manor and plenty of peacocks roaming around. We really enjoyed the classic English continental breakfast, which was a great start to the day. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfy, and we slept well, though the layout of the bathroom was a bit awkward, especially the placement of the toilet. On the plus side, the hotel has a sauna and pool, which added to the relaxing experience. The staff were very nice—when we asked for an extra blanket, it was brought to us promptly, and the front desk was helpful. However, the WiFi was terrible, constantly dropping, which was frustrating and meant we had to rely mostly on our phone data. Overall, a nice stay but with some room for improvement.

Stayed the night before my wedding and whilst general amenities/ service are good, unfortunately I had one the worst nights sleep. This is because 1) there is what I think a fire alarm right above the bed which blinks bright green and lights up the room in the dark and 2) if you adjust the AC to above 22, then an awful generator noise sound comes on which is unbelievably loud. Really disappointing as I was so tired for my wedding day!

I really enjoyed my stay at Pendley Manor and the majority of the experience was great. my room was lovely and I enjoyed my time there. Wish I’d had more time to spend at the Spa. I was there for business and wanted to do some work from the Shakespeare Bar whilst relaxing outside my room. It became very apparent that the WiFi didn’t reach to this part and the staff told me the only way to get WiFi was in the lobby and my bedroom. This was important for my stay and it may not be an issue for others. I will say that I did have a minor accident and spilt a drink on my bed, I came down to apologise and ask reception if housekeeping could change the bed and the woman was rather rude back to me, would have appreciated a less uncomfortable conversation, I felt like i was back in school and in trouble!

I really enjoyed my stay at Pendley Manor and the majority of the experience was great. my room was lovely and I enjoyed my time there. Wish I’d had more time to spend at the Spa. I was there for business and wanted to do some work from the Shakespeare Bar whilst relaxing outside my room. It became very apparent that the WiFi didn’t reach to this part and the staff told me the only way to get WiFi was in the lobby and my bedroom. This was important for my stay and it may not be an issue for others. I will say that I did have a minor accident and spilt a drink on my bed, I came down to apologise and ask reception if housekeeping could change the bed and the woman was rather rude back to me, would have appreciated a less uncomfortable conversation, I felt like i was back in school and in trouble!

Hotel staff were amazing. They make you feel so at ease. Was my daughter’s birthday and they all wrote in a card for her. And gave her a peacock teddy. They loved the pool and the games rooms. Even better toy can get peacock food from reception to feed them.

We had a wonderful stay at Pendley Manor for my husband's birthday. The hotel, its grounds and its facilities were wonderful. However, the best element of the stay was the excellent customer service. All of the staff were very polite, attentive and made our stay very special. The birthday card signed by the staff that was left in our room was a further lovely touch which we really appreciated. Also you have to love the amazing Peacock's who were truly the stars of the show!

Great overnight stay with two kids age 5 and 7. Had a lovely time. The hotel was very welcoming, especially Becky on reception. We loved the peacocks and feeding them was such a treat. We got a taxi into Tring to the Natural history museum which was fun. The family room was lovely and spacious. Would definitely stay again. Thanks to all the staff!

Room itself was nice and spacious but there was a terrible smell from the bathroom which can only be described as poor waste water management. We only discovered it on returning from our evening meal at 11.30pm by which time it was too late to move. I had to leave the window open all night to try and remove the smell which wasn't ideal as there was a band playing behind in one of the function rooms. We reported it the next day but reception wasn’t that interested. On arrival we also requested robes to use in the spa and we were advised there wasn’t enough so they couldn't fulfil the request. Pool and sauna area was nice and clean. Definitely a one off stay I wouldn’t return as I don't think the service matched 4 stars.

Really enjoyed our stay at Pendley Manor Tring. Nice a quiet hotel. Room was immaculately clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb I am advised. I only had a light breakfast. Peacocks in the garden and beautiful grounds. Didnt use the spa or swimming but again all very clean. Disappointed that the hot tub had to go due to covid restrictions.

We find this location at the last minute and we are very glad we did. We spent the last two days of our week-long European vacation at Pendley and it was a very welcome time of rest and relaxation after a week of busy cities. Lovely grounds, quiet setting and friendly staff. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.

Excellent location and hotel. Loved the peacocks roaming around and you could feed them as well, by getting their feed from reception. It was an extremely busy weekend when we went with weddings but we were still looked after. Will return in the future

We only stayed for one night, but was excellent from start to finish. Dinner and breakfast were very good, very friendly staff and had a wander around the grounds mingling with the peacocks before we left which finished off an excellent stay.

We chose to eat out for two of the three nights we were there Rooms clean and comfortable We were seriously inconvenienced by a wedding at the venue one evening to the point that we couldn’t even get into the property. We had to wait in our car for 40 minutes just to access the property

Lovely room with beautiful interior decoration. Breakfast was excellent and they even had gluten free cornflakes and bread which was so appreciated. Grounds are well kept and nice areas to sit out with a drink, watch out for the peacocks though if you have food!

Food in the bar and restaurant was excellent. Building is attractive and peacocks everywhere is fun. Appreciated the pool and sauna/steam rooms. Bed comfortable, room can be made cool and dark. Had an issue with our keys not working but they fixed it quickly. Wish breakfast and checkout ran a hour later. Would stay again.

Whilst many good things about this place, the food on the evening was terrible and as a major let down. The breakfast buffet was a bit better but overall the food was way behind the stature of the place. As a result we would not stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at Pendley Manor and really enjoyed our time there. It was very relaxing from start to finish. The staff were very kind and helpful from the very start of our stay! The pool was great, and we made good use of the sauna and steam room. The games room and gym were a nice bonus too. We also spent some time in the Shakespeare Bar, which had a lovely atmosphere. Overall, we had a great stay and would happily come back.

This is a lovely hotel, maybe needs a little TLC as it’s an old building, but it’s very clean and tidy. The rooms are spacious, the pool is wonderful and the little extra touches a real treat. The staff are exceptionally friendly and professional I can’t fault the service at all it was first class as was the food. Loved the peacocks roaming the beautiful garden too! We went for an anniversary night away and booked dinner bed and breakfast, we’d go back in a heartbeat. Value for money and we’ve been thoroughly spoilt!
