Didn't agree with them charging £10 for parking when it was only £2 outside

Disappointing. Asked for a quiet room, was put next to the lift which was up and down all night. Finally cracked at midnight and insisted I was moved. Corridoor smelt unpleasant. Parking on site was £15! Whereas on the square opposite it was £2. Rooms small. Breakfast was good though and staff pleasant

Booked 2 nights room only via Expedia.Room (310) fine and bathroom shower excellent. Corridors a little tired however. Parking at rear of hotel a pricey £10 per night. Discovered from receptionist that if stay is under 3 nights your room is not serviced and blamed Covid! Very aggrieved by this as no mention in any of the emails from Expedia or hotel. Also Saturday night is wedding night so expect noise from disco until midnight!

Everything was perfect until landed with a £60 bill for parking for 2 days. This was not noted in any of the constant emails sent out by the hotel.

I’m so disappointed at our stay Firstly arrived & parked at the rear of the hotel on there own car park. No rear door to use had to walk round with bags. Got into reception & another hotel customer was kicking off over parking chargers. I thought what parking chargers !!!!!!! I thought the hotel car park was free !!!!!! On this site it says car park self park on hotel page & even looking at fees on the app it doesn’t show a charge for the car or say anything until you click show more & then you see it. But you shouldn’t have to search for these things so straight away I’m not happy when at reception I’m told the car park is £15.00 a night & I only have 15 mins from arrival to go & pay it. So then a mad rush leaving my mrs with the bags in the hotel , I had to race back to the car park to pay for the parking. But hold on that’s not the best bit it lists secure parking but no barrier , it looks like the barrier hasn’t been there for a few years now. Plus you can actually park a lot closer to the hotel entrance by parking out the front of the hotel on the council run car park over night for just £3.00 a whole £12.00 cheaper & it’s closer , so guess what you feel a bit ripped of by the hotel charging you £12.00 more. Then there was the noise from the elevator in my sister room 300 or the guy with the jack hammer outside for hours after check in. Plus the very poor maintenance & cleaning standards mold on the ceiling

Well located and room had everything we needed. Limited hotel paid parking at rear is easy to miss upon arrival. Parking iis available for a fee in the public square in front of the hotel. Food was adequate.

Lovely old hotel located in the middle of the historic part of town. Sadly we didn't get a room in the original part of the hotel. However our modern room was very clean and quiet spacious. Hotel parking seemed expensive with few other options.

Nice hotel in the square, centrally located well appointed. Friendly staff. Nice building, clean comfy hotel room. There is apparently new and old part of the hotel. My room was in the new part. TIP: Park in the square at the front of the hotel for £2 overnight. The hotels own car park at the back is £15!

Parking was a bit of a faff but all in all a pleasant hotel with good staff.

The guys that checked us in and were in the bar and on the door were lovely and polite and very helpful. Lady on reception in the evening not so. Bathroom the bath glass door was very dirty at the bottom. The bath panel and shelf over the sink the paint had come of the mdf in a lot of places. Two hairs found in the sink on arrival.

Found a bedbug in my bed, was changed rooms but still not great to say the least!

The hotel itself was very nice . I stayed in a small double room. The shower head had limescale . The bathroom ceiling had a small patch where the paint was coming off.

The hotel is modern and clean, rooms are comfy, we only stayed one night but would have been happy to stay more. We were disappointed with the restaurant, the menu nothing like the on line sample. We would stay again, but would book elsewhere to eat.

The room carpet was very dirty. Heating and lighting in the room was very bad.

Room average,dirty wall near door,table worn,mirror in bathroom rusty, tiled floor in bathroom grout missing. Really disappointing not worth £91 not even half that they must have maintenance guys who could fix these problems easy

The only complaint was the shower drain was blocked. And there was a bit of a musty smell.

Very pleased with room. Second time we had stayed here this December , room spotless and comfortable as always. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Would not class this hotel 4 star. A lot of money has been spent on the communal areas which are very nice. Bedrooms and carpets not so much. Bedding clean and bed comfortable. Stingy with biscuits. Only 1 a day each Lotus biscuits. Room needs decorating, lots of marks on walls. No light over mirror. The light is at the back of you so it is dark.Large mark on ceiling where light fitting had been moved. Chips on woodwork and dirty windows. We also had to pay £15.00 per 24 hrs for security parking which is excessive. Carpets were filthy with lots of stains throughout in communal areas and bedroom. Breakfast was buffet and on the first morning there were no croissants or pastries and it was only 8.45am. My husband had a cooked breakfast which he said was warm. On the second morning there were a few pastries left and no croissants left. My husband had a lukewarm cooked breakfast.

Unfortunately our room, 114 was very damp. It had a terrible smell as soon as you walked in. The shower worked well but the water didn't run away and was overflowing. This is obviously a common problem in this room as the wall of the ensuite has been patched up and shows serious water damage in the bedroom. Also the sink never emptied either. This shows really poor maintenance of the property. The staff that we spoke to were lovely, the location is brilliant for the town and local amenities. Doubt we'd stay here again though as the room was so bad. 114 should not be used again until the plumbing and damp has been properly rectified. A manger was supposed to call us and discuss the issue, but we have heard nothing.

Comfortable & clean. Great staff. One of the hottest nights of the year and no AC!

Nice comfortable stay. Shower wasn’t great pressure wise, and was a fixed setting (couldn’t move the shower head) due to the configuration of the shower set up also not ideal for anyone over 5’10 (room number 406) but not a bad a stay for the money . Didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment on the food.

Beautiful hotel. Communual areas stunning. Rooms lovely but the bed was to die for.

Great value central hotel. Poor WiFi

We have stayed before and been very happy. This time we stayed in room 209 at 5.30am we were awoken by the noise of extractor or air con units just outside the window. I would stay again but would stipulate an even number room to avoid this noise.

Stayed next to the lift shaft - bad nights sleep

The square is lovely, shopping is right next door, the hotel is a lovely building and our room was very spacious.

The room had no air conditioning and it was really hot. Thankfully my sister gave us a fan for the second night. Outside our window was a noisy unit.

Good check in, clean room but out room was above the extractor fan so a little loud. The hotel is in an excellent position.

The only problem we had was room 300 right next the lift very noisy

I have stayed in several historic town centre hotels and this one is a pleasant surprise. The rooms and decor are clean and modern - well designed and comfortable. What lets this hotel down is the service, particularly at breakfast. Despite one serving staff for every two tables there were empty table uncleared, coffee and some food stations were empty and unrefreshed. Staff didnt show guests to their table and no explanation was given of how the buffet worked or whether ypu could order from the kitchen. I was very unimpressed.

Staff were great and room clean. Bed was very comfortable.

The man who greeted us at the front desk was an absolute delight and couldn’t have been better! Room was great too, lovely hotel overall

Fantastic hotel. Would definitely stay here again. Staff were friendly and super helpful, room was reasonably priced, comfortable, and the hotel quiet. Breakfast was very good. Worth noting that my room didn't have a mini fridge and there wasnt a plug socket mext to the bed. But those are just helpful observations, not a complaint. This was a superb place to stay.

One of front desk personnel was less than helpful when checking out. We needed a cab to the train station. I was handed a piece of paper with 4 cab cos phone number and told to call myself. One cab company "on vacation", two didn't answer, one said they would be an hour which would have been too late to catch our train back to London. I then asked for walking directions and was told she didn't know where the station was located. Although only ten minutes by car it would have been very difficult to manage with our suitcases. I then asked if someone else in the back office could give me directions. She then sought out someone else to help us. We were about to set off walking when a cab driver on vacation who happened to be in the parking lot on the time heard of our plight and offered to give us a ride. I feel the personnel member was not helpful and certainly should know where the train station is located and how to get there for situations such as these.

Stayed at the Dukes Head over the weekend for a wedding and was left quite disappointed. Our room’s air conditioning didn’t work, and since it overlooked all the vents, it became uncomfortably hot. Even worse, the water in both the sink and bathroom didn’t drain properly. Despite reporting it twice to reception, nothing was done, and we ended up flooding the bathroom multiple times. It felt like the staff didn’t care. The best part of the hotel is the location – very convenient for getting into town. However, I would strongly recommend skipping the hotel breakfast; The Globe nearby serves two breakfasts for £12, compared to £25 for two at the hotel. Parking is also an issue: it’s very limited on-site and more expensive than using Tuesday Market Place just nearby. Overall, it’s handy for the town, but the poor room conditions and lack of response from staff really let it down.

It is not the first time, we had stayed in the hotel. It has been refreshed after covid I think, so does look fairly fresh and clean. Some service comments: The breakfast service has moved to a self service hot and cold buffet. However the cold offering is limited, with no cheese or cooked meats appearing to be present. White and brown sliced bread, but nothing else apart from small croissants and pain au chocolat. The continuing issue is that they tend to only have two staff present and there is always a long wait to be seated. The evening dinner service seems to focus on pre-booked reservations. As a resident who has been out for the day, it would be good to be accommodated. All that we seemed to hear was they were busy with 50 covers. We had been out all of Saturday and came back early evening and found that no one from housekeeping had checked or done the room. Apparently the guests have to request it. Sadly no signage or notification of this process. The staff are professional and polite. Hotel is clean.

Have stayed here several times in the past and always felt the service and auality was very good. Not this time i'm afraid. We had several issues that included the electronic lock on our bedroom door not working and having to walk to reception 4 times to get new cards then wait over 2 hours until they brought in a maintenance man to fix it before we could get it. Checked in 2pm got into the room properly 4 hours later. We dined in the main restaurant that evening, 31st Dec, and the menu, which is usually very good, was limited and thr quality was quite poor accross all of our meals. We were given a partial refund but not before being quized by the manager. There were lots of other things including limited staff at times. We would have to think hard before staying again, such a shame as it is very handy for the corn exchange.

Excellent service from Ashley on arrival in reception. Very helpful and welcoming and ensured our bikes were secure in the ballroom! Receptionist when checking out was also very helpful and friendly.

Stayed in a large feature room which was so spacious. It over looked the market square which was the only niggle with our stay - but should be highlighted was nothing to do with the hotel. The Square is a busy place during an evening with locals from adjacent pubs and this lead to a lot of noise, especially on the Saturday, as it didn’t quiet down until the small hours. A lovely hotel, friendly staff and a nice Prezzo and Nando’s less than 2 minutes walk away. Also the best full English Breakfast I had in ages, superb. Would certainly return here again.

Great location, easy parking in front of the hotel and nice decor inside

Mixed experience. Lovely old hotel abut the noise from outside and inside was appalling. Being a bank holiday there was plenty going on, and the pub next door had music until late, not a problem, but the windows don’t stop any sound at all so the bedroom was far from an escape. Add to that the blinds didn’t fit the window so the room didn’t get dark. In the morning, the bass from the dining room, below, can be heard in the room from 8am (Blue Monday - New Order woke me up). Lovely spacious room, clean, big bathroom but sleep quality was as bad as I’ve ever experienced.

Absolutely superb stay in the middle of the town square. Only observation (which isn’t the hotels fault) is that parking although available is not free which was surprising. The hotel itself is beautiful, staff are very pleasant and I would go back.

This hotel is ideal for a break in north Norfolk and is very reasonably priced. We stayed in mid December 2025 for two nights. The hotel is in very good condition and very well kept. We dined at the hotel’s restaurant both nights and had fabulous meals with excellent service. The hotel is sited in Tuesday Market Place, the centre of Kings Lynn and just a few hundred yards from the main shopping centre. It’s also opposite the Corn Exchange venue. We didn’t use the hotel car park (which is chargeable) but paid to park in Tuesday Market Place in front of the hotel which is easy to access. I really can’t fault the hotel in any way at all. Spot on and we will return.

The room was small, but reasonably clean. The mattress was awful! The shower head is fixed, but has slight movement (this should have had more movement as it is on a rose coupling), meaning the spray went past the glass screen. Extremely poor quality toilet paper. Breakfast definitely not worth £12.50! Other than that it was ok, just a moderate 3 star hotel.

We last stayed here in 2018 and found the place to be a bit tired and the overall experience very disappointing. Over 6 years later and it’s no better. We were advised to take the lift to the 3rd floor and turn right to find our room. The room was actually tucked away in the eaves at the far end with a high window and no views plus the blind was broken and wouldn’t stay up. We paid extra for breakfast and it was dire. Poor quality, poorly presented, badly stocked and cooked without care. Semi cooked hash browns, fatty bacon, sloppy eggs & cheap sausages. The coffee is disgusting & tastes like instant if you can ever get it to pour out of the silly pots! Furthermore the staff seemed to like having full volume discussions about “their jobs”. Also the music is not in keeping at all! I don’t want to listen to Britney Spears singing Oops! I did it again! Whilst I’m eating breakfast!!!

Lovely historic property on Tuesday Market Place. Lots of opportunity to walk the pedestrian mall that runs off TMP. A few chain restaurants are close by (Nando’s & McD’s) with the large Globe Weatherspoon just across. The breakfast buffet at Duke’s was very good with lots of selections kept fresh.

We had a great stay. The staff are friendly. Our room was fantastic & very large. The breakfast was great & the chief kept coming out to top everything up. The breakfast staff worked really hard to make sure everything ran like clockwork.

This was an OK Hotel, nothing special for the price paid. The Location was superb!! and right across the road from the Corn Exchange. The Hotel, as a façade, is impressive with lots of lovely old sitting areas and a great bar. Breakfast was a little disappointing to be honest and very limited cooked options: Full English ...for a Hotel of this rating we would have expected more choice. No in-room safes. The Team here are maybe it's best Asset..
