The property is fairly old so presents a few challenges for some with limited mobility, like me. However, when I asked to change my room due to a tricky set of stairs with no handrail causing issues, it was swifty dealt with and my luggage was moved. It is a nice hotel with a very nice terrace overlooking the sea. Breakfast is very nice and sitting on the terrace overlooking the sea is a very pleasant experience.

Very hospitable staff, especially Robert on the front desk. Very easy to find, very good parking and the hotels overall look is quite a nice one. My sea view room was like being in a bedroom of your very own and it was nice warm and cosy with the sound of the sea at the window. Breakfast was extremely nice, you alway expect a nice breakfast but this one exceeded my expectations. Overall a very good hotel and very nice stay, only critique I have and it’s not a big deal but I was on the first floor next to the stairs so a lot of foot traffic and you can hear pretty much everything on going on downstairs until the last person goes to bed or ends shift.

Fanatic location of hotel , staff was without doubt very friendly and welcoming , Terrace is a absolutely beautiful place to drink and eat , Lovely big bar area and seating areas , Lovely tasty breakfast and main meals ,

Arrived at 2:30 pm and couldn’t check in due to no rooms available (a bit disappointed as I needed to get changed before meeting the boys at 3:00 pm. Managed to get a car parking spot which was good, as limited parking. Hotel clean same as my room which was quite basic but had a good shower.

Nice room although a little warm and the smooth rounded shower temp control was a bit hard to adjust. Great view (from my bed you can only see the sea and sky and can only hear the waves lapping against the beach, just like when I was in Barbados) Great location as right on the seafront and only 10 mins walk to the station Parking might be difficult at peak holiday season Nice breakfast

Had a lovely stay, everything was great from the greeting when we first arrived, pleasantly surprised by the room (georgeous sea view) the food and service at the bar and restaurant in the evening. Decided to have roast Sunday lunch too - that was also fabulous food and friendly attentive staff. Just managed to get one of the few remaining parking spaces upon arrival so that was a bonus too. Will definitely go again.

So, not the most modern hotel in the world and quite frankly, it is overdue a refurb but that should not put you off staying. The Team are extremely welcoming, the rooms are clean and daily housekeeping cannot be faulted. Breakfast choice is good and I enjoyed what was put in front of me. I have stayed elsewhere in Lowestoft and paid more for the privilege however I will return to the Hatfield because of the friendly Team and the seafront location.

A lovely stay at the Hatfield a wonderful welcome and service throughout our stay. The hotel was clean and always smelled fresh. The decor was tasteful and fresh and the restaurant and bar area was spacious with excellent sea views. We had a sea view room which was lovely. Our bed was quite small but it was a standard - I would book a larger bed another time but apart from that the room was clean and fresh. We ate lunch, dinner and breakfast here and it was all very nice- we would definitely stay here again.

Used to stay at the Hatfied on a regular basis but this is the first visit for about 20 years. The entrance/reception area has not changed at all and on first appearances seems really neglected and off putting. But once in the hotel other areas are better; bar/ outside terrace, rooms were fine & clean.

Plug hole of bath was full of toe nails, absolutely disgusting. This was 2nd room as other one stunk of spilt milk. Plus beds were very uncomfortable and tipped backwards. Poor experience

The room was very tired but i know it is one of the rooms still to be renovated. However the main problem was that the mattress sloped downwards and i moved in my sleep and fell out of bed at 4 am! I hurt myself on the bedside cabinet as i fell and grazed my arm and badly bruised my shoulder. The mattress is unfit for use and needs replacing.

We stayed in a sea view room which had a lovely view of the sea, unfortunately because the temperature reached 28%c the room was very warm even with the windows open, so it really spoiled our stay here. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but the food looked good. .

Room shabby and cramped and airless, creaking floorboards including corridor so bed shook whenever someone passed by. Disappointing. But breakfast excellent and I commend the lady who managed the breakfast restaurant, very friendly and efficient.

I’d booked a deluxe room overlooking the sea view was great but room was very below standard the bed was like sleeping on a rock and the pillows were awful the bathroom was not the standard of a deluxe the shower was so hard to turn on/off tv too close to wardrobe and no plugs near the bed! Altogether very disappointing far too much money for what we had!

Great night away. The staff in the hotel were super warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble despite it being busy. We were there for a Jazz event and I would consider staying again as the location was great.

I always like staying at the Hatfield. Its been 15 years ive been staying and i just think its a lovely cheerful place to stay. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Food is good and the service is quick. The rooms are comfortable and warm. It reminds me of how hotels used to be, its like going back in time, in a good way. Well done to all keeping the Hatfield charming and warm.

Room was decent, the rest of the hotel was a little worn. The service was very slow, i asked for an iron to be sent up from reception, i had to the call down 2 hours later and ask again, the girl had completely forgotten about it. I ate in the restaurant, i ordered the steak, rare but unfortunately this was over cooked and not overly hot. I also paid for breakfast, the coffee machine wasn't working, also some items for the cooked breakfast weren't available. Poor selection of fruits and yoghurt/cereal. On entering the breakfast restaurant many tables were still to be cleaned down and even after they had been i needed to clean the table top myself as it still had crumbs and bean juice on it.

We had a lovely stay over three nights late December. All staff very friendly and polite. Room very good, plenty of room (204). Cooked breakfast tasty and well presented. Room nice and warm and splendid view of beach and sea. Thank you Mark and Helen Fenton

The hotel is nice and has great potential but it needs improvements (facilities, staff). The restaurant downstairs is lovely, however it could do with better food. The employees work very hard to compensate and they were lovely and helpful when approached, but it was obvious the hotel is understaffed. We loved the overall experience as we’re not fussy. But services and facilities could be improved in order to justify the price.

We had three nights at this hotel - staff friendly. It has a really nice patio facing the sea which is brilliant plus we ate in restaurant- very good bar the dessert but the staff very kindly took this off.

Meals hit and miss- some fine but not all. Poor choice of breakfast buffet. No milk jugs for tea n coffee - had keep going to buffet area to refill from master jug. Warned of noise from outside workmen but did not expect them to be on our balcony without warning. Hotel cat Freddie charming. Staff very friendly.

1st room I checked onto was the size of a student dogs. Poor quality throughout and not worth the money. Reception changed the room, and whilst better was equally rum down. Could feel the springs in the bed which made for a rough night's sleep. Room was also extremely hot. Has the chicken gyro at dinner and sent it back, chicken was not cooked through. Overall the place is on dire need of an upgrade. I travel regularly and base my choice on the reviews, this place does not deserve anything near what is stated.
