A country home feel with hotel style rooms make this a peaceful stay. Off the beaten track but within a short drive to some alternative restaurants make this a decent overnight option. We selected this so we could visit York and yet be ‘in the country’. Room was basic but comfy. One note. Many doors around give access to the car park - but they are only marked emergency exit and you have to walk in / out of the main doors. Inconvenient with luggage.

Great hotel at a reasonable price and it includes breakfast, the breakfasts were nice with good service however I do think their could be more hot items on buffet for example, hashbrowns, cooked tomato’s and crumpets. The rooms clean and a good size. The gym was small however it did have various cardio machines aswell and dumbbells you can adjust the weights on, my personal favourite in the gym was the punching bag. The worst part about the stay was the parking on the weekend, which is no fault of the hotel as people were parking so that they were parked practically in 2 bays and the gap between cars wasn’t big enough to fit another car it, I think it would be a good idea to spray paint white lines in the car park to make bays so more people can park, people were having to park wherever they could fit their cars and I had to park round the back in a electric car charging spot because I couldn’t park anywhere else.

Another excellent stay with great helpfull staff. Both breakfast and evening dinning were superb. Room as expected was both clean and comfortable. Easy free parking with park and Ride just a few miles away, Excellent.

Lovely hotel. When arriving the staff were friendly and helpful as we were there hours before check in. The rooms are basic with toiletries but very clean . Alcohol was reasonability priced as we expected higher prices due to it being a wedding venue. For the price with breakfast and free parking it was spot on. We was able to leave the car and get a uber into York which was between £15-£20. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent value for money. Lovely countryside setting and no frills, clean and tidy hotel. Set in well maintained grounds. Ample on site parking. Our second stay here whilst meeting friends in York. We had to leave before breakfast due to a family emergency so did not experience the breakfast sadly. Will certainly use Burn Hall again.

Pretty comfortable and very beautiful country side. Restaurant got diverse menus. Rooms size is decent with a very large bathroom. Provides free car park. What I didn’t like is that although they provide toiletries but there’s no hand wash provided. We used soap to wash hands. Also, there receptionist in the evening time was friendly enough. Was very apathetic when asking questions. May be she was not having a good day. Overall, our stay was good. But this’s could be excellent.

Staff were lovely however, the hotel is in serious need of a refresh. Lots of cobwebs noticed in the seating areas and stained seats in some rooms. There is very limited choice on the menu in the restaurant not at all vegetarian friendly. Sheets in one of the beds also dirty luckily had a twin room and the other bed was fine. Only hotel in area but worth travelling a bit further out. Will not be visiting again.

Lovely staff and the breakfast was nice. The car park was very full as the distance we had to travel to get to the hotel meant we arrived late, this meant quite a walk to reception with our luggage. Our room was adequate and clean but the bathroom had a strange smell which was there throughout our stay. The hotel was well placed to visit Harrogate, York and surrounding areas.

It started with a very miserable lady who checked us in (not a smile or welcome in sight). The room was missing features that were advertised but no longer happen apparently, and the bathroom had an absolutely horrible musty smell coming from it. Rest of the evening was ok but didn’t really enjoy my bath due to the smell so couldn’t wait to get out. Then I got up in the night to a sharpe stabbing pain in my leg from a spring poking out the side of the mattress. Once I had pushed the spring back in I then went to open the bathroom door and the handle came off in my hand. It was only attached with one screw instead of two. Managed to put it back on but then couldn’t shut the bathroom door again in case it wouldn’t open and I got stuck in. Therefore the musty smell then filled the whole room. Eventually morning came and we went for what was a very disappointing breakfast. Not a lot of variety, flys over the food and cold. Then on check out again met with another miserable lady who barely even looked up from her desk. I handed her the door handle as it had again come off she just took it and asked what room. No apologies nothing. Will definitely not be staying here again and would not recommend at all.

We had a room on the second floor (lift available), the room was designed for disabled people but was ok (we are tall so we had to bend over to use the mirrors). The bed we chose was king-size. Unfortunately, the mattresses moved apart, and there was a hole between us. Overall, it was okay.

Nice setting if you ignore the industrial estate behind it but shame the hotel feels a bit like an old care home - room was basic and shower poor - lacked enough hot water and temperature fluctuated constantly. Room felt dark due to the low energy lightbulbs used - these gave a murky feel to the room and there are better low energy bulbs now available which at least don't make it feel like the room is foggy. We were room only and used as a base to sleep - so fine for this purpose - but expensive enough for what it is and do think a decent shower is a essential for any hotel. Staff were pleasant and no issues here.

Poor quality pillows, very hard to sleep on. Quilt needed to be bigger and also it was too think, no option of a blanket in wardrobe. No sleep was had. Noise from room above like they were gonna come through the ceiling. Toilet hard to flush. Breakfast was minimal at best! Different options of eggs should be provided and not needing to be asked for with a wait of up to fifteen minutes. No option for tomatoes, hash browns. No continental options, yogurt and fruit very minimal. No fresh fruit to choose from at all.

Overall the stay was good and fairly comfortable but the room was a little dated and worn around the skirting boards. The mattress protector on the bed was ripped in the top left corner and personally I prefer thicker pillows.

Arrived in the evening on Saturday night to be met by the most grumpiest lady ever. After having just been proposed to it felt awful having my happy buzz ruined by orders being barked at me and almost like I had ruined her evening by turning up. When we got to the room the towel over the bath tub was soaking which meant it had been used the bed was also uncomfortable due to it appeared to be two singles pushed together even though I paid more for a king size bed I could have paid cheaper for a 2 single room and done that myself. I will say breakfast was good though and morning staff appear a lot nicer than evening

We arrived late ish around 8pm and despite being thenonly ones checking in the manager decided he was more important to stop the lady checking us in and ask her to put something on someones tab! Let the customer check in first! Breakfast we had to wait 30 mins to be seated with only 4 couples in front of us. Either the staff need more training on how to run breakfast or their is nit enough equipment to deal with 240 people staying. You know how many people are staying, put the rigbt number of staff on. All the staff were lovely except the same one from check in who told people off for waiting for food, raged at other diners that people arent patent enough. Ive been to lots of hotels and they all cope, figure it out and dont brerate people Oh and the room had a spider hanging down pver the bed as we walked in.

Once I had pushed the spring back in I then went to open the bathroom door and the handle came off in my hand. It was only attached with one screw instead of two. Managed to put it back on but then couldn’t shut the bathroom door again in case it wouldn’t open and I got stuck in. Therefore the musty smell then filled the whole room. Eventually morning came and we went for what was a very disappointing breakfast. Not a lot of variety, flys over the food and cold. Then on check out again met with another miserable lady who barely even looked up from her desk. I handed her the door handle as it had again come off she just took it and asked what room. No apologies nothing. Will definitely not be staying here again and would not recommend at all.

Overall the stay was fine Friday saturday night however the bathroom light didnt work causing issues having a shower as i would get fined if i set the alarm off due to steam I reported it sat am and on coming back from the races i found it still not working causing the same issue sunday morning

I had a very good night sleep at this hotel. It is in a quite street, far from any noise. It is not conveniente for someone who is not driving. The bed was very cosy, the room has a good size. There is coffee and tea in the room. This is a place to sit outside and relax.

Nice setting if you ignore the industrial estate behind it but shame the hotel feels a bit like an old care home - room was basic and shower poor - lacked enough hot water and temperature fluctuated constantly. Room felt dark due to the low energy lightbulbs used - these gave a murky feel to the room and there are better low energy bulbs now available which at least don't make it feel like the room is foggy. We were room only and used as a base to sleep - so fine for this purpose - but expensive enough for what it is and do think a decent shower is a essential for any hotel. Staff were pleasant and no issues here.

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Basically you need to drive 30 minute to get to York and another 30 minutes to get back. This is very inconvenient if you’re planing to visit or have some business to do in York. It’s cheap but not worth the money.

Thé hôtel falls under York . The cab fare to York city centre is £30 each way. Better to pay extra and stay in York itself unless travelling by car. I think the advertising of such hotels should be more precise .

Excellent value for money. Lovely countryside setting and no frills, clean and tidy hotel. Set in well maintained grounds. Ample on site parking. Our second stay here whilst meeting friends in York. We had to leave before breakfast due to a family emergency so did not experience the breakfast sadly. Will certainly use Burn Hall again.

There is very limited choice on the menu in the restaurant not at all vegetarian friendly. Sheets in one of the beds also dirty luckily had a twin room and the other bed was fine. Nice accommodation, breakfast is a bit of a shambles. I shouldn't have to queue 15 minutes for a breakfast table when at least 8 were empty and just needed cleared. No real complaints about the rest of the stay, they just need a much better breakfast system and have a few more options in the hot buffet

Poor quality pillows, very hard to sleep on. Quilt needed to be bigger and also it was too think, no option of a blanket in wardrobe. No sleep was had. Noise from room above like they were gonna come through the ceiling. Toilet hard to flush. Breakfast was minimal at best! Different options of eggs should be provided and not needing to be asked for with a wait of up to fifteen minutes. No option for tomatoes, hash browns. No continental options, yogurt and fruit very minimal. No fresh fruit to choose from at all.

We arrived late ish around 8pm and despite being thenonly ones checking in the manager decided he was more important to stop the lady checking us in and ask her to put something on someones tab! Let the customer check in first! Breakfast we had to wait 30 mins to be seated with only 4 couples in front of us. Either the staff need more training on how to run breakfast or their is nit enough equipment to deal with 240 people staying. You know how many people are staying, put the rigbt number of staff on. All the staff were lovely except the same one from check in who told people off for waiting for food, raged at other diners that people arent patent enough. Ive been to lots of hotels and they all cope, figure it out and dont brerate people Oh and the room had a spider hanging down pver the bed as we walked in.

I couodnt get anuthing to eat on the first night because there was a coach load eating. Was told bo food between 6 amd 8.30. Breakfast served from 7 am so couldnt have that either, i wasnt offered continental or any other offer.

Another excellent stay with great helpfull staff. Both breakfast and evening dinning were superb. Room as expected was both clean and comfortable. Easy free parking with park and Ride just a few miles away, Excellent.

Lovely hotel, rooms a bit old fashioned but very clean and exceptionally good value for what we paid. We didn’t partake in breakfast or dinner as we had friends staying nearby and we ate out with them but we did purchase teas and coffees which were good. We will definitely be visiting again soon!
