Hotel De Normandie, a 3 star in Jersey, I would rate it a 4 star in the UK on facilities alone. Rooms are clean, and tidy, if a little small,but perfectly adequate. Finding your room can be a little difficult, although room numbers are clearly signed. Mine took 1 minute and 39 seconds from reception to room. Mainly because there are numerous left and right turns, stairs going up and down, with fire tdoor to open. Breakfast has everything you could want, and the maitre de FARIA was one of the nicest people I have ever met. The restaurant, and bar areas are large, and the food was excellent. very varied menu, and large portions. there is a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and a sauna. Poolwhen I used was normally empty. Depth is 3' 10'', so ideal for teens upwards. No kids pool, but they could use the jacuzzi with no '' bubbles ''. there is also a quite room for reading, with board games provided. ALL of the staff were extremely friendly, and helpful. Hotel is located at the east end of the island, but bus stops are right outside. excellent beach is just accross the road. Island bus service is very good. Remember to obtain a bus pass for 1/3/7 days, as it will save you a lot of money. As this is a hotel review, I will not comment to much on Jersey itself, but it is a wonderful Island. 7 days is probably enough to see most ot the tourist attractions. Jersey will not disappoint.

Loved the friendly & helpful staff at reception & restaurant. Bar food was delicious & well presented. Pool & sauna were great. Good location, across from beach & bus stop across the road from hotel. Areas for improvement- no food service available from breakfast until bar opens at 5pm apart from limited prepacked sandwiches, crisps etc. Pool & sauna area is not suitable for anyone with limited mobility, narrow stairs, no hand rails and wet floors. Also high doorstop at door between games room and ground floor rooms. This is dangerous. All of above easy remedied!! Signage required in short term. Thank you for an enjoyable stay x

Only negative was cold water in rooms was not cold. It was a bit far from the bus station but very near a beach and sea lido. The swimming pool was warm and so was the room it was in. It was open long hours so was convenient and not too busy.

Location to beach was excellent, the only problem was the parking . There wasn't enough spaces ,cars had to be moved to access car. The exit was difficult, unable to see vehicles approaching around bend .

It was an average hotel, this was the last of 5 hotels of a bigger trip and it was very very basic. The water for the bath and and shower were luke warm at best, the pool changing rooms were tiny and overcrowded with people actually getting changed in the corridor outside the changing room. The jacuzzi was open but was not working. Poorly catered for vegans. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the hotel is a 15 minute walk to town and opposite the beautiful beach.

Arrived at the hotel for a birthday weekend for me and the hubby, staff were very friendly and even upgraded our room. The pool, jacuzzi and sauna are one of the main reasons we booked the hotel and didn’t disappoint had it to ourselves most of the weekend. Breakfast was lovely lots of choice from continental- cereal, fruit, ham, cheese etc and then a gorgeous full English breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel close to amenities and lovely views of the sea with a pub attached to the hotel but a nicer one across the road will definitely be back

Staff were excellent. Breakfast was very nice. Rooms were horrendous, bed was comfortable, filthy carpet, shower cubicle is fine if you are a very small person & children, the power from shower is non existent. Hotel certainly needs a lot of money spent on it being modernised. Hotel is in a prime location but very noisy at 5am with bin lorries. I was with a party of eleven people and we all said we wouldn't go back.

The double bed was 2 single beds pushed together and one was higher than the other, meaning the bed was not level. Cleanliness, we found a couple of things that were an issue. Staff were kind and helpful. You can hear everything that's going on around you, people walking and the corridor.

We arrived early due to a Chacewater of flight time but this didn't inconvenience the hotel staff at all. They ensured our room was made available. We did report that the toilet was stained and this was immediately rectified. The room otherwise was extremely clean and tidy. Breakfast was perfectly cooked with plenty of cold buffet choices also. We also chose to eat in the hotel restaurant in the evenings and the food was excellent and very competitively priced, although the wine choice was limited and a touch pricey.

Received a warm welcome arrival and although I was slightly early they checked me in straight away. Lovely, interesting building full of nooks and crannies. Very clean. Room was serviced to a high standard every day. Breakfast was excellent. Lovely sausages. Only complaint is the coffee was awful. Plenty of hot water in the shower. On a direct bus route into St Helier or Gorey in the other direction. Close to the beach for lovely walks. I would definitely stay here again.

Ive never stayed in a hotel with rice crispy floors. It was so disturbing i had to change rooms at the price of giving up my bathtub! I was not best pleased. The staff was great especially Daniel. Such a lovely young man you will go far just keep on keeping on!

Stayed at this property 10 years ago and did so once again. Breakfast was very good and staff very friendly and helpful. Bus stop nearby if one doesn't want to walk 15 minutes into St. Helier. Rooms are a bit outdated but comfortable. Nice area to lock up a bike, too.

Nice hotel, perfect for a short stay like mine. The rooms are basic and could do with being updated but was spacious and the bed was comfy. My room backed onto a road which was loud at times. Breakfast was very nice for a buffet.

We used the lift. Our room was tucked out of the way. We had to go down 6 steps and then up another 3. We have a young child in a buggy. So bad. The curtain weren’t hung properly.

When we first arrived the room was not like any of the photos online. The safe didn’t work, water pressure was terrible and the door didn’t lock either. The twin room, the beds were either side of the room not next to each other like on the photos. The room was right next to the busy road and we did not get any sleep on the first night. Once moved rooms we had a family room with bunk beds but the toilet leaked and the safe still didn’t work.

Room was pretty basic but quiet and comfy beds. Could do with a refresh though, especially the bathroom, small rust spots on sink and shower drain. Shower leaked but was actually ok once you were in. Staff were excellent though and the food was fantastic, we ate in the restaurant every night. Reasonably priced as well compared to other olaces close by

Staff were very nice especially Rodney in bar. The direction and route to rooms was incredible and not in a good way - tough if depending on lifts or have much baggage. While it was clear a lift was available it did not actually get you to your room. It would have been nice to know beforehand but also would probably mean we would have not have stayed. Breakfast was varied enough but a bit pressured to finish for 9:30 No lazy coffee morning then. We had breakfast for 3 days but only decided to have on one day. Location is excellent. All in all we would probably stay again but with less luggage as the maze like tour to rooms is quite an issue.

Very helpful and friendly staff. When we arrived, they had give us an upstairs room, my father who is 91 and partially sighted had trouble with the stairs, so I asked if we could be moved and straight away we were moved to a ground floor room at no extra cost. All staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant had a great menu, very tasty and good price. The hotel is a little dated, but overall would probably stay there again.

The place on the whole was just really nice, all of the staff were very friendly and accommodating, credit to the reception staff, the service was impeccable! The breakfast was lovely with a great choice, the bar clean and cosy and added bonus of the upstairs terrace! Food was great too on the couple of occasions we ate there! My room was small but cosy and clean with a comfortable bed so all good! Didn’t get the name of the reception staff but the little one was lovely and helpful in arranging so we didn’t have to move rooms for our extra night stay so thank you ☺️

We were delayed by strikes in france and our boat could not sail.the hotel went above and beyond to assist us and offered us our same room including breakfast at the same rate we originally paid.This gesture made our extended stay stress free and much more enjoyable as a result.Many thanks for such marvellous customer service .

All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and fairly priced. All normal hotel facilities were very good, We were using local busses and all bus routes go to and from St Helier which makes it a critical location to be able to easily access. The hotel is on a frequent bus route to St Helier, and would be only a ten minute walk. Overall, I think it was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had.

Good location on the coast road. Bus stops right outside the hotel, 5 minutes ride into the centre of St Helier. Places to eat very close by. Breakfast good, didn't eat in the hotel in the evening so can't comment. Room could do with a bit of an update, also our room was too warm overnight, however, there was a free standing fan.
