Bit of odd spot, the hotel was full of bus trips and business men. You had to pay for WiFi in your room which seems a bit scandalous for a hotel

The hotel looked tired and in need of some tlc. The spa was out of order and they wanted to charge us to use the pool. I have never been asked to pay for the hotel car park in the UK before either. The bedroom was ok but the bathroom needed some serious rennovation I would not stay here again

The room was excellent value for money. It was spacious, clean & warm with a comfy large bed. The ensuite had a bath with shower over, it was a little dated but very clean. Swimming pool was lovely & warm, however it costs £4 per hotel guest to use. Parking was good, plenty of spaces, £5 per 24 hours. Tea, coffee, shampoo & shower gel all provided in your room. Would definitely recommend.

No WIFI in the room. Cost of 7 Pounds/device is a rip off. Parking 5 Pounds

The Hotel is in need of some TLC as rooms are dated as well as the bathroom. Had to pay for the Gym which is normally free at other Hotels. Bar meals took ages to come Breakfast was possibly the worst I have had at a Hotel

Average hotel with a number of add ons which is not acceptable and should be included. Pool access charge! Parking charge! Spa charge! So the price you pay is just the room only. Otherwise staff lovely and beds comfy. Dated rooms could do with redecor but great sized room and clean except under the bed.

Great position an Ex Hilton property and in good repair. My only disappointment was that EVERYTHING was an extra, the parking, use of the spa facilities and internet use in your room at a massive £7 for 24 hours for only 1 device, at almost £120 for B&B for the night one would expect internet to be included. As I rely on the internet when working away and having multiple devices which I need to connect it would have cost me £21 for 24 hours which is a monthly subscription for full fibre!!!

"Hotel and SPA" is why we booked. When we arrived there was a note on the reception saying that the pool and spa facilities were out of action. This was the case for our whole stay sadly. Our room was 'ok' but nothing special. We had to go out and buy an extension lead, because the bedside plug sockets weren't for normal plugs and we couldn't plug chargers in next to the bed. The shower flooded all over the bathroom floor and out onto the hall carpet the first time we used it. We used every towel available to mop it up and left them by our door. They were collected but not replaced. No room service to replenish or clean during our stay. No air con and poor ventilation in the room. No windows that could be opened, just an outside door onto the path which looked like it was linked to an alarm so we didn't risk opening it. Plenty of panic alarm cords in the room though which was slightly odd and a control panel next to the bed which had strange switches that did nothing. Conflicting information about parking charges between staff and signage outside. I'd rate it 3/10 Wouldn't stay again unfortunately.

A penny pinching hotel - charging £5 to park in their car park, £4 to use the pool, watering down the juice at the breakfast bar so it's barely anything more than water.

Lobby toilets need sorting, very dirty and stained floor, basins and taps need replacing and a deep clean of whole area.

First night heating did not work neither did flush on toilet. Bedroom was very dated and not clean cobwebs around light fittings and bed. This is not a 4 * hotel.

Lobby area looks lovely. Room well appointed and spacious. Found three spiders roaming around my room. Service panel next to toilet fell off in the middle of the night. Alarming noises when running shower. Low power shower and semi-clogged shower head. someone else’s hair in sink on arrival.

Room was terrible and unclean. Skirting board falling apart. Bathroom mouldy and a chocolate bar and rubbish shoved down the back of the mattress.

I worked on this hotel when it was being built in the late 80's. It was then called the Bromsgrove Hilton, worthy of the Hilton name as a prodigious hotel of top quality. I was expecting similar quality when we stayed there for a long weekend recently. How wrong we were and very disappointed to see how neglected the hotel had become with weeds growing around the gardens, dirty windows, loose toilet seat that wanted to turn 180 degrees every time you sat on it, exposed electric cables, cob webs, the list goes on. Additional charges of £5 per night to park and £7 for wifi again reaffirmed how out of touch the Britannia group are with their pricing. Forgot to mention that there were asylum seekers staying at the hotel, with no mention of this at the time of booking, again confirmed that I won't be staying here again.

Sadly I have stayed here previously and mistakenly booked again because of the new photos, it is a filthy dirty, disgusting run down hovel, with some of the staff, rude obnoxious and unhelpful, this is only some of them in particular the barman, the reception team and servers were lovely and incredibly helpful. Food was burnt and disgusting, I had to send the main course back, which was handy as they served a starter AND main at the same time, no care or interest in the crap being served from the kitchen The rooms are tired, hard beds, cheap pillows and an all round unpleasant place to be, bathroom is grubby and smelly, room smells and the breakfast, although edible was overcooked and tasteless, at least they didn't charge me for parking this time

Dated, dirty, overpriced. Needs knocking down and rebuilding. Cutlery dirty at breakfast, breakfast also cold. Bed was like a camp bed. Only plus was the staff were pleasant. I wouldn’t even give it a 1/10 absolutely awful.

Staff were ok - everything is an extra including using the gym. Room was absolutely disgusting, shower head covered in mould, cigarette burns on side, dusty, just generally a horrible place to be

Clean comfortable friendly staff

The bed sheet was dirty and and towels had stains. Also, had to pay for parking which given that it is a quiet area should have been included in the price of the hotel. The area was nice and the room was large with good amenities. However, the bathroom needs updating.

Room next to the bar noisy til very late, no hot water, dirty room furniture not wiped, Entered room all lights on including the tv, and £5 a night to park, plus charging for using the Wi-Fi

Room was a bit awkward as bed was sideways to the tv. Had a shower in the morning and half way through it was as if the water had run out, just trickling.

Great location, great social areas, good food options and rooms are spacious and clean although a little dated but I was happy enough with the facilities

We were given a family room, but I didn't book a family room, just a standard double. Because it was a family room, the sofa was stuck under the window, with a very bad viewing angle for the TV. The toilet seat was broken, and should have been replaced before any guests arrived. The cleaner would have known it was broken. We found the idea of the sink in the room, and an awkward door to access the toilet and bath a bit ridiculous. Very odd planning. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the room too hot without an option to turn the heating down.

My teenage daughter and I had a pleasant overnight stay. The reception welcome was fantastic - very friendly and accommodating. Our room was huge, with 2 double beds, kettle, tea/coffee and lots of space. We even had an iron and an ironing board. The bathtub was missing a plug so we used a shower option instead. Overall, the room, linen and towels were very clean. The bathroom decor was dated but it gave it a character and I liked it. We didn't use any hotel amenities as we only stayed a night and had to travel again very early, however, the entrance lobby looked very inviting and bar area well stocked.

Found the fact that not only did you have to pay for your internet in your room shocking, your shower pressure was worse than a watering can and the decor is dated.

The room was bigger than expected. The location of the hotel is in a good and quiet area. The only negative was that the heater needs updating and didn't but staff did try to rectify by giving additional duvets.

Bromsgrove spa hotel. A little tired looking and the bed wasn’t the most comfortable. Freestanding electric heater in the room that ticked all night. Keycard didn’t work so got a second that didn’t work so was let in by reception. Toilet was hard to flush had to pump it to make it work. Stairs and main route to room was dirty and there was no lift which wasn’t a big issue as we only had light bags but could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues.

Stayed overnight but the cheap price was increased by having to pay car parking and minimum Wi-Fi fee of £7 pp Hotel has a busy welcoming feel and staff are very helpful but hotel is tired and in need of an upgrade! Room was huge but without air con and a window that only opens a couple of inches the supplied fan was needed despite the noise! Room has no usb ports and have to search for an accessible plug socket. Bathroom is cramped and shower is in the bath which isn’t easy for for us older residents to climb into. Hotel provides a good breakfast which is plentiful but coffee choice leaves a lot to be desired There was a wedding going on at the same time and staff did well to cope but all appeared to have smiling faces!

Very good offering. Lovely reception and bad area. Rooms are a little dated but the hotel is perfectly good and has everything you need. Comfortable stay on all 3 occasions. Bar staff are super friendly and talkative.

Check in was smooth, rooms are dated and in dire need of modernisation although it was clean and well equipped but no air conditioning. The bed had a thick mattress protector and a very thick duvet which made the bed far too hot. My room was above a courtyard and people were outside smoking underneath my window until very late being noisy and inconsiderate. Ate in the restaurant in the evening, waiter who brought our drinks to the table tipped his tray of drinks all over me. Asked at reception if they had a laundry service to which I was abruptly told no, no offer of help despite my clothes being covered in red wine. He gave me an apology and a free bottle of wine but he charged me for a glass, presumably the one he had dropped on me! Even though the restaurant was quite empty the wait for food was ridiculously long. Met colleagues for breakfast and was running late. They were already seated so I gave the waiter my room number to be rudely told breakfast wasn’t included and I would need to go to reception and pay before I could eat. I informed him that I hadn’t yet checked out but he wouldnt allow me in until I had paid. Had to queue at reception behind guests checking out to pay for breakfast before I could enter the restaurant, leaving very little time to eat. Not worth the additional £11.99. Just as we were getting ready to leave chaos broke out as the fire alarm started to go off. Staff had no idea what they were doing. Not an experience I will be repeating.

Overall, the stay was fantastic, with a really nice atmosphere. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. However, in the evening, a member of staff swore at us when we tried to order a coffee at the Starbucks counter. This was very unprofessional and uncalled for.

From the moment I arrived, staff were short and not very friendly.

A great stay and the front desk staff were outstanding.

No room keys available when l checked in due to system being down, so staff had to let you in and out of your room which was painful. Someone walked into my room at 10:20pm, wrong room which was awkward. Then to top it off cleaners walked into my room the next morning. Shocking hotel

All the staff were excellent, Luke and Maria on reception and Leanne and Kaylee in house keeping really went the extra mile I’d definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again 👍

NEAR MOTOWAY - ESY ACCESS

Reasonably priced hotel close too the M5, clean some fittings are a bit dated, nothing close by if you didn't want to use the hotel bar/ food service. Would use again

Management was a bit mean and the place is not close to town. But very nice and quiet whith plenty of safe parking.

Stopped off for one night while driving to Cornwall. Good place to stop.

Stayed a number of times based on location. Parking is limited, rooms basic but functional. Internet in most rooms is terrible as is any mobile signal. Was fined for making a mistake on the car parking system last time (defaults to 1 night stay).

The approach to the hotel is not all that attractive, and without satnav we would probably have driven past. Car parking is OK, facilities are on the whole good, but a bit tired in places. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was large and nicely furnished - if a bit dark, with no main light; but the bathroom area we thought a bit old fashioned, and in need of a makeover. We had planned to take our evening meal in the restaurant, but it was closed because of shortage of staff and the need to clear up after an event. The bar meal we had instead was good, however, as were the breakfasts. Good value on the whole, and comfortable.

It was very well located for my needs. Clean, Comfortable and friendly staff.

Great location for where i was spending my camp weekend, room was set up so cosy to walk into, lively view onto small garden. As i checked in late parking was limited as there was only a few disabled spaces so struggled to get out of car as had to park in normal space.

Spacious, light and appealing lobby on arrival and spacious room. Bathroom needs updating - shower curtain too close, sealant needs replacing but very clean. Good value and good breakfast (though no orange juice - just apple and cranberry).

All good apart from the dining. Had to wait over an hour for a main course meal that consisted of a ready Thai curry meal and some chips.

Only stayed one night but everything was fine, comfortable bed, friendly ,helpful staff and the breakfast was one of the best we have had in a hotel.

the bathroom floor had some hairs from previous occupant hidden behind door,other than that room was ok.I think the room needs freshening up in the near future. The staff were good , breakfast was good well prepared ,and we had a delicious steak at night. Overall very satisfactory. Ian from Blackpool

For the price great stay, breakfast was just okay due to quality of sausages

Don’t waste your money on breakfast . Coffee is awful. Poor choice and staff is ignorant. Their breakfast till 10 , I came @8:55 am . There was crumbs of scrambled eggs , one fried egg and 3 peaces of bacon left in their buffet. Absolutely no fresh fruits or veggies, no cheese. Most importantly is the attitude. Saigon says wait to be seated , staff walks around like you are invisible . After 10 min just standing there they just tell you seat anywhere ! Why sign there then ? While staring at empty buffet , I asked for fresh scrambled eggs, I got the look of surprise, because of course there still were leftover dried crumbs there…. I was told they are preparing more eggs, … 20 min later not a single item came out of that kitchen ! Should be ashamed charging money for that kind of breakfast ! Hotel itself , was dated but clean . Quiet , spacious rooms. Parking available on site . Bar in the lobby, but they don’t accept cash. You’ll need card to pay for dinner and drinks ! Food is so so !

The TV was annoying because on all but a very few channels it kept asking for a card or voucher number. Still we didn't go to a hotel to watch TV so that wasn't a crisis. What did rankle was waiting 90 minutes (90 MINUTES) for a basic dinner of fish and chips to be served in the restaurant. It was ordered around 6.30pm which doesn't seem an awkward time slot.
