Hotel L'Isola

It was a short walk to a wonderful beach. The room size was very large and comfortable. They kindly carried mine and my daughters heavy suitcases up the stairs which was incredibly kind of them. The included breakfast was nice and if it’s not too hot you can sit outside with a beautiful view. The sea view from our room was heavenly.

Det er alltid hyggelig å bo på Hotel L’isola i Santa Marinella. Beliggenheten rett ved Piazza Trieste er flott med mange spisesteder og butikker i umiddelbar nærhet. Vi spiser alltid på fiskerestauranten Acquamarina i nabobygget - alltid like bra. Det er et lite og ikke nytt hotell, men alltid rent, ryddig, god air condition og svært hyggelige folk. Frokosten er enkel, men får du et av de to bordene med utsikt, er det helt nydelig. Deilig kaffe. Vi hadde et fint tremannsrom med stort bad.

The staff was very friendly, and the room was decent. It had a nice amount of space, including a desk with chair, armor, luggage rack, extra chair, refrigerator, and tall ceilings. I believe there was a TV, which I didn’t use anyways. We stayed only one night on our drive up the coast. I was lucky to find a free parking space right out front of the hotel, but FYI it is a little tight (as most spots are in Italy), even for small cars. I was realistic about what to expect in the room since it’s not a 5-star hotel lol, but it’s good to know that outside the window was a lot of beautiful greenery between our room and the sea view, however that also means mosquitoes. Be prepared with bug repellent if you have it. Most Italian windows don’t have screens, including this hotel, but luckily we were able to keep our windows closed due to moderate temperatures in October. I couldn’t figure out how to use the remote to turn on the air conditioner, so luckily the weather was mild. Also, although there are thick, stone walls, the doors do not keep out any hallway noise, and our neighbor could be heard very clearly in the hallway (although they should have been more considerate!). Luckily it wasn’t a problem because they moved on their way after a few minutes, and the hallway corridor is small, so guests really don’t have a reason to linger and chat for long. There are many nice restaurants and even a grocery store within a quick walk outside the hotel.

Elevator was broken. Had to carry our bags up. Big room. Good mattress. Shower was not really a shower it was a hose.

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Older hotel but kept up well. Not as close to the sea as the photos make it look like on the website but within walking distance. Woud stay again.

A second visit after many years to this lovely hotel. The staff could not be more welcoming or helpful. Everything is meticulously clean. It’s a quiet corner of Santa Marinella overlooking the castle’s private park and the full breadth of the sea from our room on the second floor (no lift but it’s manageable). It was wonderful to hear the waves breaking on the castle shore first thing in the morning and last thing at night. There are three good restaurants in the square and the towns shops - including nice bars, supermarkets and a superb gelateria - are between the hotel and station. The promenade and the port are 5/10 minutes walk in either direction. It’s the loveliest place to stay in Santa Marinella and only 45/50 minutes out of Rome.

I was charges €70 more than quoted on expedia. Somehow my reservation got changed to 1 traveller instead of 2. They told me it would be €20 extra for the second person & then it became per night, presumably for taxes & fees but then they added more taxes on top of that too. For anyone bringing luggage for a cruise there is no lift/elevator, you'll be carrying tbose up and down stairs. Bed was hard,breakfast was mediocre.

The staff were wonderful, welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, but dated-swollen bathroom door didn't open or shut properly and the entrance and stairs to the room were dirty and loud. The restaurant beside the hotel was wonderful. Parking was a couple of blocks over. The view from the balcony was beautiful.

We stayed only one night and it was nice place. IT was clean and newly renovated near sea. The breakfast was basic but nice and staff was very friendly.

The rooms were very clean and tidy.The breakfast is included with the room and it was very good!!! The staff were excellent ~ they really cared about making sure your stay was everything you expected.

Room was clean with a great view of the Mediterranean. The Desk Clerk treated us with the greatest of hospitality. We were here for 2 nights and enjoyed every minute. If I had a constructive comment to make I would suggest a plumber to go through the bathroom fixtures and update them.

The staff were wonderful, welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, but dated-swollen bathroom door didn't open or shut properly and the entrance and stairs to the room were dirty and loud. The restaurant beside the hotel was wonderful. Parking was a couple of blocks over. The view from the balcony was beautiful.

Our room 204 had a beautiful view with a wonderful seabreeze. lots of restaurants and bakeries close by. It was clean with good water pressure in the shower. Staff were very nice

Great little bed and breakfast with personable service from hosts. Very little if any hot water was disappointing and showers too small even for european standards.

We had a great stay here for one night. Lovely sea view, clean and spacious room. Would definitely recommend for one or two nights stay.

Café da manhã pobre, pão dormido, praticamente sem frutas, pouca opção de frios, estes de baixa qualidade. Cama ruim, pessimos travesseiros. Banheiro com local de banho super pequeno.

Great staff, wonderful stay. The views of the Mediterranean Sea are nice. This is our 4th stay at hotel. Looking forward to our next oportunity to stay at hotel.

Hotel L'Isola was a hotel as charming as the town it's in! Very cute accommodations, and in a great location. The room was a good size with a lovely view. Hotel staff was always very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

Staff were really nice and very helpful in organising a transfer for us, to the port in the next town, so we could catch our cruise.

The hotel clerk/owner was helpful, there isn’t a lift/elevator in the hotel, so he carried my luggage up to the top floor and down a couple days later. Breakfast is lovely. The view is astounding from my room. Short walks around the area are nice. Only a couple of short blocks to the train. Only 1,10 euros to Civitavecchia. Easy walk with luggage.

Very convenient hotel for staying before a cruise. Staff very friendly and helpful in organizing a shuttle from Rome airport and also to the cruise Port. Cafes, restaurants, supermarket, etc in the vicinity of the hotel.

Great place to stay before our cruise There are great restaurants right outside the hotel in the square and the room had a lovely sea view.

Wonderful hotel, numerous restaurants to chose from. Lovely setting along the Mediterranean. Easy walking distance to train station. We stayed here before and after cruise from cruise port. Short 10 minute train ride to Civiticchia port, and 30 minute train ride to central Rome. Quiet, friendly, safe location. This will be our first choice going forward when cruising out of Civiticchia (Rome) Italy.

Lovely little hotel in an Italian seaside town. Located on the town’s piazza with restaurants & cafes within meters. Very clean with basic but more than adequate amenities for a short stay. Management & staff always friendly & helpful. Excellent continental breakfast served in the breakfast room. Santa Marinella is within an easy train ride of Rome. Great summer stopover if you don’t want the craziness of staying in Rome proper.

This place was perfect. I loved the location. Easily can walk anywhere. Hotel was super clean and people were very nice. We booked this before our cruise and it worked out great. Would highly recommend

Nice hotel centrally located with beautiful ocean views with plenty of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Very clean. Negatives: No transportation to cruise terminal and gave them 2 weeks notice for transportation. Thank God i already had the IT Taxi app but took 1.5hrs to arrive as there are no taxis in town. Plus, we had to pay 140 Euros to hire a taxi to travel 20 minutes to the cruise. I only paid 120 Euros from downtown Rome which was an hour drive. Breakfast was not good as a holiday inn express would be much better in comparison. We cancelled our return night when we depart the cruise ship as it costs too much money for unreliable transportation. Heading back to Rome for 1 night as we can't afford to miss our flights due to very limited transportation.

This was a great location for an overnight stay before boarding our cruise ship. We were able to fly into Rome, catch a train to Saint Marinella and find our way to the hotel with no trouble.

I really loved this hotel. It’s located in a great area where you can go walking and feel safe. The only thing that is a downfall is there are no Uber or taxis in this area so you should absolutely have a plan for travel. We decided to take the train which was very very close. We were advised by Nellie at the front desk to do so and we followed his advice and it worked out great. The staff is really nice and helpful. I would definitely go back again. We plan to.!!

The balcony provided a wonderful view and breakfast was basic but very nice. Nicole is the one person that kept everything going and she is just delightful. We would seriously stay at this hotel for more than just one night next time we take a cruise.

Posizione eccellente e ben servita, di fianco al Castello Odescalchi e con splendida vista mare. Camera semplice ma dotata di tutto quel che serve, con un piacevolissimo terrazzino vista mare. Servizio cortese e di fianco il Ristorante Acquamarina, comodo e consigliatissimo

Very much enjoyed our 1 night stay at L'Isola! The staff was welcoming & kind. The room was quiet & clean. Shower had god pressure. The morning breakfast was perfect! We also loved the attached restaurant (baked Bass was delicious), and the little cafe across the street. Thank you for the relaxing stay before we started our 17 hour travel back home!

Unterkunft passt. Blick vom Balkon auf Meer super. Es kam kein Frühstückspersonal. Nach 30 Minuten warten dann eben ohne Frühstück gefahren

This place is amazing! Gorgeous views of the coast and the service is top notch. The owners are truly very friendly. You can't go wrong booking a place here. The complimentary breakfast is just a perfect way to start your day. The food is excellent and the cappuccino's were great! A side note, my hubby and I spoke very little Italian and the owners were able to speak English to accommodate. Their restaurant, AquaMarina is pretty awesome too. I can't rave enough about their food and service. If we ever make it back, a great place to book again.
