We had a great 3-night stay at The Birdham. It's a mix of the personal touch of a B&B with the facilities of a quality hotel. The staff are very focused on customer service, right from the welcome by Anthony to the lady who made up our room. It's an old building so we didn't expect all mod cons, but the room was well equipped and in the large bathroom the shower was adequate and water was always hot. We ate in the hotel everynight and the food was excellent and served with a smile. Parking was easy in the dedicated car park. We had an early check out and were offered a breakfast bag, which was an indication of how the Birdham goes the extra mile.

A lovely traditional locally based hotel with a pub and restaurant. I’ve stayed at the Birdham a number of times in the past and only the last visit was not up to standard. I’m glad to say that that was only a blip. My room was lovely - a good size with a very comfortable bed and good quality linen. The shower is hot and powerful and there is a useful supply of toiletries. The restaurant offers a good range of standard bar food and the a la carte menu has some great choices that are of a standard not found in many IOW pubs and restaurants. Breakfasts are very generous with several cooked options as well as fresh fruit and croissants and cereals. A very good choice that I would recommend.

A two day trip visiting friends. loved our stay here. Very friendly welcome and very impressed with the superior room we booked. Very clean and bright and generally in good condition. Breakfast cooked to order and was excellent and very friendly staff throughout. We ate in the bar one evening and once again the food was well priced and excellent. Would not hesitate to stay again. Good location also for the local village and a walk to the beach.

We stopped at hotel/pub for a Sunday carvery, our first. Great dinner. We decided to book the hotel and our room, #5, was perfect. It was comfortable, clean, spacious and bright. Anthony showed us our room and was very helpful. Breakfast was spot on.

The hotel was a good location for us as a base. 2 minutes drive down to the beach and lifeboat station or about 15/20 minutes walk. Nice to walk along the beach path in the evening. Local convenience store on the way. Evening meal was lovely and the breakfast choice and quality was superb. Nice bar and restaurant area with lovely ambiance in the evening. Stayed midweek and was very peaceful at night. Friendly welcome and all staff were lovely and gave good service. Car park is big enough even though it gets busy with restaurant bookings. Had a slightly smaller room which could do without the wardrobes being in it to give more space and room for a couple of easy chairs but the bathroom was generous. Nice touch with the travel toiletries.

I stayed at the Birdham in late January 2025. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast was particularly good - excellent menu, good cooked options, and delicious. I used the restaurant and bar on one evening, which again was excellent - good choices, delicious food, and a good atmosphere, it was used both by locals, and for business meetings. Easy parking at the hotel. Old building with all its quaintness and squeaks but with many refurbushed areas. Breakfast was great, towels are fluffiest. Blinds in bathroom a bit overcomplicated requiring help from reception. Walkable to Bembridge high street.

Stayed at Birdham in Bembridge as a base for 4 days of solo coastal path walking. The hotel was clean and fresh and the team were terrific, natural, friendly, professional and welcoming. A big thanks to all of them.

We stayed at the Birdham for a mini-break and were very pleased with our choice. It has been recently refurbished to a good standard and was very clean. The team were all very friendly and helpful and the food was very good. Bembridge itself is fairly small and quiet but it is easy to get to from the ferries and was also a good base for touring the island. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a nice place to stay for an Isle of Wight break.

As it was August, we weren’t surprised to find ourselves in an attic room but we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely big bathroom with a bath, and the towels were so soft but absorbent at the same time, which isn’t often the case. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and it was quiet all night. The hotel is characterful and the staff are pleasant, they were working very hard during the busy dinner. We were rather disappointed with the meal:my partner’s rump steak was very chewy and my sea bass (£24) was minuscule, the “new potatoes” appeared to have been deep-fried and the capers were so salty that I was really thirsty all night! Luckily in the room is provided bottles of still and sparkling water, very much appreciated! We also liked the coffee machine. We would definitely come back, probably out of season when rooms are much cheaper. We enjoyed a lovely walk up to the windmill and then back along the picturesque coast.

The room was clean, nice large family room. Bed was comfy. Bit of a rabbit warren to get to room but didn't mind. Food in restaurant was nice on the night. Drinks tasted good. Down side no ev charger so hopefully they get one fitted. But not a big deal. All in all would stay again

We stayed at The Birdham for three nights in March 2024 and received a lovely warm welcome from Anthony when we arrived. We were made to feel welcome by all the staff including the bar and restaurant staff who were warm and friendly and very efficient. We ate in the hotel for all three nights and the food was generally of a good quality with generous portions. There is a good choice of hot dishes at breakfast - all cooked fresh to order, as well as cereals, yogurts, juice etc. Our deluxe room was comfortable and quiet with lovely, soft bedding and we had a lovely, large bathroom with huge, soft towels. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.

Loved our stay here, sad it was only for one night. The staff that checked us in was very friendly and very welcoming. Next day for breakfast the staff, I didn’t catch her name, very lovely too. My little daughters being divas loved the style of the hotel and the big chandelier 😍 will defo return :)

Great food, Comfy bed, Staff excellent. Upon check in the guy was so busy but he didnt let his excellent customer service slip once, he stayed polite and friendly at all times, credit to him. I visit the island every 6 weeks for work and this has been the best value by far that i have expeianced. I will definately go back

We stayed at the Birdham for a mini-break and were very pleased with our choice. It has been recently refurbished to a good standard and was very clean. The team were all very friendly and helpful and the food was very good. Bembridge itself is fairly small and quiet but it is easy to get to from the ferries and was also a good base for touring the island. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a nice place to stay for an Isle of Wight break.

A two day trip visiting friends. loved our stay here. Very friendly welcome and very impressed with the superior room we booked. Very clean and bright and generally in good condition. Breakfast cooked to order and was excellent and very friendly staff throughout. We ate in the bar one evening and once again the food was well priced and excellent. Would not hesitate to stay again. Good location also for the local village and a walk to the beach.

The hotel was a good location for us as a base. 2 minutes drive down to the beach and lifeboat station or about 15/20 minutes walk. Nice to walk along the beach path in the evening. Local convenience store on the way. Evening meal was lovely and the breakfast choice and quality was superb. Nice bar and restaurant area with lovely ambiance in the evening. Stayed midweek and was very peaceful at night. Friendly welcome and all staff were lovely and gave good service. Car park is big enough even though it gets busy with restaurant bookings. Had a slightly smaller room which could do without the wardrobes being in it to give more space and room for a couple of easy chairs but the bathroom was generous. Nice touch with the travel toiletries.

As it was August, we weren’t surprised to find ourselves in an attic room but we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely big bathroom with a bath, and the towels were so soft but absorbent at the same time, which isn’t often the case. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and it was quiet all night. The hotel is characterful and the staff are pleasant, they were working very hard during the busy dinner. We were rather disappointed with the meal:my partner’s rump steak was very chewy and my sea bass (£24) was minuscule, the “new potatoes” appeared to have been deep-fried and the capers were so salty that I was really thirsty all night! Luckily in the room is provided bottles of still and sparkling water, very much appreciated! We also liked the coffee machine. We would definitely come back, probably out of season when rooms are much cheaper. We enjoyed a lovely walk up to the windmill and then back along the picturesque coast.

Good experience with very friendly and helpful staff who were a credit to the establishment. Rooms maybe a little dated for some but not a problem for us..Food excellent with one exception. We ate in all 4 nights. Only problem was the Friday night when a steak frankly was as tough as old boot.Should have sent it back. Also when one asks for one poached egg one means one not two. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly come again.

Staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival and lovely to speak to throughout our short stay. The hotel is immaculately kept and tastefully furnished. Our room was spacious (family room with a queen bed and bunk beds for our 2 children was a dream for them) and had great amenities. Bathroom was clean and basic toiletries were supplied along with shaving and dental kits. Enjoyed our short stay and would highly recommned.
