Amazing hotel with spectacular views. Service was first class by staff who always had a smile. One of the owners, Ted Stourton always seemed to be around checking that everything was ok, even at dinner moving from table to table, engaging with guests. Food was superb although menu was small. Will be returning in the near future.

Lavish surroundings accompanied by friendly attentive staff. The restaurant had a pleasant and varied menu that was well priced and wonderfully cooked. A pleasant bar with comfortable furnishings and a tea room adjacent, catered for your needs throughout the day. The spacious and comfortable room was astounding, with rugged cliff and sea views it was the perfect getaway. A truly spectacular experience in calm and historic surroundings. Thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful, unique property! Situated on the gorgeous Cornish coastline. Close to numerous trails, including the Coastal trail, Tintagel Castle & Merlin’s cave. Staff are amazing, so friendly & welcoming. Rooms are comfortable & have fantastic views. Very peaceful atmosphere. Walkable to the village & all amenities. Free parking, excellent breakfasts.

We were told this was suitable for a wheelchair users. The wheelchair would not fit into the lift we had to wheel the chair to the lift get the person out of it fold the chair up and go to the third floor every time. Then at 01.00 in the morning fire alarm went of us on the third floor with a wheelchair and now no lift to get down and out. The Manager was also very ignorant. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Very disappointed ☹️☹️☹️☹️

Staff were excellent. The hotel is on a great location and has character in abundance and old style charm in keeping with the history of this victorian building. It has grandeur. BUT for the price it needs some tlc. The bar, restaurant and lounge were OK but the stairs and landings look shabby with old discoloured carpeting and flaking paintwork. It looks past its best and needs sympathetic redecoration. My room was also a bit shabby, window was very old and didn't shut properly. Furniture was very dated. Given some refurbishment this hotel xould be glorious again, to match its history and awesome location.

Lucky enough to get a sunny weekend beginning of March. Castle views and location are perfect. The areas you can see if you were to visit the hotel are well kept. All very fitting to the castle theme. Great sunset views if you are sea facing the Tintagel ruins. Massive let down by the pet friendly rooms having a poor bathroom set up. Plastic pods which you’d expect to find if you were in a campervan. There is no chance of cleaning a muddy dog in these facilities. The shower is so small and comes with no hose. Also can’t keep anything in this bathroom as it just falls off the shelf when you are in there. Also dogs not allowed in breakfast area so they have to stay in the room but my dog is anxious and can’t be left in the bedroom on her own so we had to eat on a tray in the main lounge area on a sofa. The ladies serving dinner and breakfast are very friendly and welcoming and offered great advice. Unfortunately i experienced an unfriendly staff member who laughed at my request to upgrade to a room with a proper bathroom. I was told all cheap pet friendly rooms come with same bathroom set up and the more expensive rooms have the proper bathroom. Well I had paid for the four poster queen bed so not exactly the cheap option so this comment felt unnecessary and rude. Despite the rude staff we managed to not let it ruin our weekend.

Toilet / shower facilities were modular inserts that were on par with a pop-up camper - not what I'd expect for the price point of the hotel. WiFi was weak and could not support basic social media streaming. Front desk had odd hours - not available until 08:30. You need to make pre-planned reservations for Breakfast (??) and dinner. Bar staff was nice and helpful.

The apartment was separate from the main hotel and was lovely. It had been beautifully and tastefully decorated and was spotlessly clean. There were fantastic views of the coastline and Tintagel Castle. My only bugbear was that we arrived quite late on the Sunday (my birthday!) and ordered two roast beef dinners. Unfortunately, these meals were not cheap and were very disappointing as they were not freshly cooked and were akin to a microwave roast beef dinner.

I arrived got my key for room went up to room and found room hadn’t been cleaned For a hotel like that I thought it would be a lot nicer! Could do with a paint outside it’s all flacking off ! Staff are lovely and helpful

A very comfortable stay, attentive friendly staff. Spotless room (203) We had a lovely evening meal, well cooked and presented. Topped off by stunning Christmas decorations

Lobby looked ok, got to the room, was not clean, very dingy and musty smell renovated in the 70’s maybe? Bathroom was an insert like on an inside cabin of a cruise ship. We left immediately and found a nice new Holiday Inn.

It was lovely. The rooms amd public areas were spotless. Afternon tea was delicious. Small issue with heating and hot water, but it didn't spoil what was otherwise a lovely weekend.

Hotel looks impressive from the outside and main reception however our room was far from it. Very disappointed. Bathroom was a "caravan pod" and tiny. Bedroom had mold up the walls and paint flaking everywhere

Our room was not in a good condition, the best thing about it was the view. I understand they are renovating so obviously hadn’t got to room 104 yet. There was a damp large stain above the tiny “en-suite” and a cheap shower curtain, we didn’t even use the shower it was so uninviting. The receptionist tried to charge us for the room even though we had already paid in full. Very old and unattractive furniture in the room. We ate in the restaurant and had to send the wine back it was so bad. Service was slow and when I asked for a spoon the waitress took one off the next table and almost threw it down on the table. The common areas are nice and great paintings everywhere but a very unwelcoming feel to this hotel and not worth the money. We stayed at a cheaper hotel for the next two nights in St. Austell which had wonderful rooms, great food but more importantly very friendly welcoming staff.

Positives: location, view, balcony with swallows nests, staff. Negatives: tired hotel, in places not clean. Bathroom pod in rooms more in keeping with a caravan than a historic hotel. Potential customers should be aware of this before booking. Room furniture is small and 1960’s, again not in keeping with room or hotel. No balcony furniture. Reception covered in photos of hotel owner with celebrities, and every room has mediocre modern art by one of the owners / resident artist. Not nice. Owners have created their own newspaper and created other literature poems. It’s all very self promoting, self congratulating without have any tangible substance, vague and woolly. We asked for a nice view when booking a special dinner, this was missed by the staff. Dinner was unremarkable and portion sizes were small. Overall an odd experience at a seedy but well situated hotel.

Loved staying at this old hotel. It was absolutely beautiful! Small room but to be expected. Modern convenience with claw/ shower!! Our window looked out on the Tintagel Castle ruins! We stayed two nights while exploring the area. Food was wonderful and you could get continental breakfast to go .

Lovely room with a great view.

This is a very old, authentic property with huge rooms with retro fitted, prefab, ensuite. Very compact. Larger than average size people would struggle with this arrangement. Views to the ocean & over Tintagel Castle are pretty special. It’s a fun place to stay, as it is packed full of artwork, wall hangings, hunting trophies. The food was excellent. We had both dinner & English breakfast during our stay. Beautifully presented & delivered by staff. Bakery in town (walking distance) does great food too.

Comfortable 4 poster bed. Fantastic views. Tea/coffee availability. Lovely bar area, hotel was very welcoming and quirky in places. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. A very good value mid week break. Wifi was good. Shower area on the small side. Curtains (in the room) too small for the large window.

Booked this dog-friendly hotel for its four-poster bed with sea and Tintagel castle views. Room size excellent. Views excellent. Price was £250 per night in July (bed only) plus £20 per night for dog. Staff were very good, though there was staff confusion over the room that could be used for eating with dogs which didn't open until 9.30am for 8.30am breakfast time. Once in the room, I am sorry to say that its rating went down fast. We were not prepared for what can best be described as a pink, very compact, caravan-style plastic toilet/shower pod stuck in the corner of the room. Not what was expected for a room with this price tag. There wasn't even room for a fitted toilet paper holder and the glass shelf above the sink meant that you couldn't get your head fully over the sink to wash without banging your head against the shelf and its sticking-out plastic toiletries' tray. Views through the very large windows (six of them), as mentioned before, were fabulous - unfortunately they were also visible through the night as the long drape curtains looked as though there were two missing as they didn't cover the windows without large gaps. The impressive four-poster constantly creaked as the clearly visible support was what looked like plywood on top of slats and felt like the mattress was about to fall through at any moment. Thank goodness we weren't on our honeymoon! Overall a disappointing experience. Would recommend only with caveats.

It was a fabulous room overlooking the Castle ruins. The staff were wonderful , the food was excellent and I enjoyed my afternoon tea very much. Would have been happy to stay much longer.

This property is in a stunning location but do be very careful what room you book. We had a four poster room with sea view so quite above a standard room and unfortunately the bathroom in this room was more like a caravan shower and toilet although probably even worse and smaller! as I have stayed in caravans and seen better bathrooms!! It was a massive let down.. other people did experience the same and you could upgrade for a hefty price to have a room with a proper en-suite. The bed itself was really creaky and the pillows soft and duvet too thick but that bit is personal preference. A lot of people checked out early because of the bathroom issue, I guess a lot of the room have these so called “en-suites..” I don’t expect to pay for a four poster bedroom which was quite big itself to then be expected to use this so called bathroom. I wouldn’t stay here again and you could stay somewhere much better with similar views.

We were only able to book a Standard room, but it was small, which would be OK, but the bathroom was like an airplane toilet with virtually no room to move in. Obviously as an old building that in the past had hallway bathrooms that we shared, this was a poor afterthought to upgrade the room to be able to ma t as an en suite bathroom.

Lovely hotel showing it age but in an elegant way. Food good breakfast was enjoyable and portions good. The location is stunning views to die for. Fantastic staff nothing to much not that we asked for much. The only drawback was the “caravan module toilet / shower room “ now I’m an above average sized person but if I’d been twiggey I would have struggled. I suppose you get what you pay for, but if I had known before I went I would have upgraded. A real letdown and really all I can remember about the hotel. Overall a good break.

An awesome castle (though modern) in an amazing setting. Unfortunately, that's all the redeeming points. The standard double room is small, pokey and outdated. The widows didn't open but leaked (windy). The ensuite was nothing more than a small cupboard.

Beautiful rooms with stunning views. The staff couldn't gave been any friendlier or more helpful. They were all wonderful. We were supposed to be staying for 2 nights but ended up staying for 3. We just didn't want to go home!

We booked two nights but checked out after just one night as a hotel employee made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome by making unfounded, inaccurate and unjustified comments which upset our children. Very unprofessional and very impolite. We will not be going back that's for sure. In addition, we had an outdated room with an uncomfortable bed and the restaurant service was far too slow [we waited over an hour for food]. For us, it was an awful and upsetting experience.

The property is not well represented in the description. The views are amazing but the ocean view may need to be reclassified as "you can almost see the ocean from your room"; during our stay it was very noisy, with poor Internet (when available) and the staff were incredibly rude. We did not like it so we left a day in advance, asking for a refund for the last night of our stay. They refused to do that and then refused to take calls or discuss with Orbitz. It was not a good experience, I would not recommend this hotel, even though the description and location make it seem appealing. I bet other hotels/inns/b&b in the areawould be much more friendly.

We absolutely loved our stay here at the Castle hotel. Beautiful hotel with such amazing staff that put you at ease even with all the grandure they made us feel so welcome and relaxed like we had known them for years. Beautiful three course meal by candlelight in a stunning dining room with silver service and a very charming Gentleman who entertained us all after dinner with his talent playing a beautiful big Harp and Grand piano while we enjoyed a cocktail. We will definitely be going back. Thank you so much to all the staff especially the lovely young lady in the bar who even though the Internet went down she continued to service everyone writing down by hand everyone's orders .

We loved our stay at Camelot Castle Hotel and would highly recommend. The location was perfect for us. we stayed in a lovely room with 4 poster bed overlooking the sea. All the staff were helpful and friendly, We had a very nice meal there too

Very interesting and unusual place. Glorious views. Absolutely wonderful if you’re going to visit Tintagel Castle (ruins). For an American driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road in the rain, quite a hair-raising drive to get there.

Really nice place in a beautiful location. Very secluded and quiet. Makes for a great "get away' with a commanding ocean view.

Hotel located in a stunning place; walking paths around and Tintagel Castle on a walking distance. Room confortable and quiet. The only critic I have is towards the bathroom ; it was so small and the shower is mixed with the toilet ; felt like in a camping car and not a hotel.

Having never been to Cornwall we decided to do a bit of a tour First base was Tintagel for 3 nights, ideally placed for the castle, St Necterns waterfall, Bodmin, Pastow and Port Isaac and Bude.Camelot Castle did not disapoint. Amazing hotel. We had the top floor with sea view wich had been tastefully refurbished. Wow what a view and sunset. The staff were very friendy and attentive, the room was brilliant and everything was very clean, everywhere. There were period features where ever you looked and a massive 'round table' in the lounge and the restaurant and bar had great sea views too. Modern art Monet style adorned every wall, even the Aston Martin parked on the lawn was painted. The food was also very good but the village is only a 10min stroll with many pubs and cafes. Also if you are a walker you will be spoilt for choice. Off to Falmouth.

A bit tired and shabby looking inside. Door to bedroom needed a lick of paint. Beds were comfy though, and room was quiet. Breakfast was extra and was expensive and not worth the money. Bacon dry, shrivelled up and rock hard.Mushrooms tinned. Coffee lukewarm. Only ate there once, then got much better breakfasts for much less money elsewhere in Tintagel. Weird artwork all over the place. (One or two would have been okay but it was everywhere). Dark and gloomy in the lobby and guests lounge despite bright, sunny weather outside. Overall a bit of a weird atmosphere in the place. Staff very friendly and helpful though. Best thing about hotel was the view, which was superb, both from the room and even more so from the terrace out the back. Will be back in Tintagel but won’t stay in this hotel again. Much cheaper options offering an overall better product elsewhere in the town. Sorry!

Lovely room and views. Food fantastic

The hotel was in a very nice location, however the service charges of £12.50 on the bill doesn't go towards the serving staff. It was for the linen and bread rolls you received when eating in the hotel. The choice of meals at dinner was very poor and the food was cold and had to be returned. At breakfast again the food wasnt hot and I was very dissatisfied, having had the problem at dinner the previous night.

The hotel is perfectly situated for Tintagel castle, coastal walks and just sitting with a glass of wine and looking out across the sea. We stayed in the east wing suite which was amazing, with exceptional facilities and views. The restaurant serves great food and the breakfast is excellent value for money as well as being one of the best we have tasted.

Unique late Victorian hotel with spectacular lobby lounge dining room and stairs. Just about enough parking on site. Great sea views on 3 sides. The only downside was that the restaurant's meals were very small and expensive.

We had a lovely stay, but only ate in the hotel once, room service breakfast was not good. Mould on the toast, and not an enjoyable meal.

Had a wonderful time staying at Camalot. The room we had for 2 nights had amazing views, looking out over Tintagel castle ruins from one side & looking out to sea from the other side. The bathroom was disappointing, but usable. The cooked breakfast was very nice, but could have been hotter. Generally enjoyed our stay & the area.
