Spacious lovely room with great food at the Fat Abbot. The pool, sauna steam rooms and jacuzzi also wonderful One of my favourite places to stay when near York

Although we had a lovely time there were a few irritations which may have spoiled it for some. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Tv wasn't smart and only had 2 channels, Thus couldn't be fixed. No telephone to connect to outside reception. Had to walk 100 yards over to reception to ask anything.

The toilet was dirty in the room upon arrival, heater wasn't efficient. Generally, the whole hotel and spa area was grubby, smelled old. Very dated also.
