Hotel would need some freshness. Room cleaning only two of the four days, without explanation. Bed a bit old etc. Great area, quiet, beautiful golf course surrounding the hotel. Breakfast poor quality. Good facilities, gym, pool good standard.

The hotel was beautiful! Plus we got upgraded to a loft apartment which was absolutely out of this world! Huge! Very modern and made you feel very special. Even the bathroom had a tv by the bath! Reception staff were lovely. Only downside to the hotel was the healthclub. Jacuzzi was out of service, sauna wasnt very hot and the showers were not very hot. But as its free with your room you cant really complain! Breakfast was ok but felt quite limited food. We were not offered any veggie (but we also didnt ask) and just seemed not alot of option. Bit all in all a very nice hotel, beautiful room and staff were very friendly!

Loved our stay. Restaurant staff were lovely and so helpful with our elderly and disabled family members, nothing was too much trouble. Disabled room perfect, as was ours. I made use of the swimming pool which was great, spa pool not set to come on regularly though so never got the bubbles. All staff said hello when passing.

Really nice hotel throughout, very clean modern room with excellent facilities and great en suite. All the staff were great we dealt with and the food and drink options too. The leisure facilities were also excellent, wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thank you.

Rooms are lovely and although I wanted to use the leisure facilities I just felt too tired from my travels but they are great too. Meals and breakfast are very nice. Receptionist on check in was great but service can be slow and I had to chase people to get things done. Sort the service out and this would be excellent.

Rooms were big and spacious clean just needed a bit of tlc we stayed in room 103 and the ceiling tile was in need of replacing as it had water damage and was exposed noticeably,the patio curtains was smeard with makeup? And the shower leaked water due to poor design fault. We went to the spa area and again this too could do with a refurb in the ceiling area as it was hanging down in certain places. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The terrace room was lovely, great views onto the golf course, lots of space and a very very comfortable bed. Unfortunately, the corridor smelt of smoke and was very noisy at night with guests coming back at all times during the evening. In the spa area - the pool was freezing and the steam room smelt terrible. Breakfast was average. But other than that it was nice. The driving range was fun

A once amazing hotel is now tired and dated. (Regulars tell us it's because it changed hands). We loved the size of the Junior Suite, and the outside tables overlooking the Greens, but the lounge furniture was old and dirty. The bed was clean (No. 1 priority) but I literally sank into the gap in the middle. Bathroom was clean and had a walk-in shower. Loved the complimentary items in the fridge, but a small snack offering would be nice (just a couple of bags of crisps/nuts for example). We used the pool/sauna/whirlpool - and enjoyed it - but again, it's all a bit tired. Staff on reception and in Spa were all lovely. Breakfast was disappointing, no fried eggs, strange mushrooms, coffee machine not working, no English Breakfast tea, was really messy around the tea and coffee area. Just needed a wipe but everyone seemed oblivious. Would I go back? Probably not.

Really nice stay. Used the spa facilities for 2 hours. Very relaxing and clean. Room was lovely - we upgraded to the loft rooms. Very spacious and had a separate bath and shower. Even a television in bathroom so could watch whilst having a bath. Bed was very comfy. Also went down to have dinner at the restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious. Had breakfast buffet in the morning which was nice as well. Overall a very relaxing stay and looking forward to staying again.

Cleanliness was very poor. Dirty cups, dirty kettle with water in, water in irons, dirty toilet and vanity chair. There was something left under bed by a previous guest. Bed linen was torn and marked. The first room I was given was terrible and had lots of dead flies on the windowsill. The furniture looked like it needed to go in a skip. I was swapped to a different room but still lots of cleanliness issues. I asked if I cancelled can I get a refund but they said I would have to arrange with 3rd party provider (you) I was worried I would lose money so I very reluctantly stayed in a dirty room. Hairdryer didn’t work, some of the plug sockets didn’t work. Wardrobe door needed maintenance.

Lovely, relaxing stay! Lovely, large room, great to have a fridge & view of the golf course! Lounge & bar area lovely, really comfy seats and everywhere nice and clean! Enjoyed the afternoon tea & bar food in the evening - highly recommend the dirty bacon fries, they were divine! Pool facilities great, well maintained! Steam room was best I've ever tried! Pool was too cold for us though! Movable shower head would be better but nice to have a bath & a separate shower though! Rooms have lots of nice touches like huge mirrors, a proper wardrobe & lots of storage space! Very impressed! Breakfast was perfectly adequate too, only complaint was lack of proper orange juice! It was watery and more like orange squash!

We booked 2 suites, based on the photos they provide, particularly the fire place in the bedroom and the views from the room. The rooms were in the attic and half the space was just crawl space. Our room had a tiny window and was completely dark There was no fire place in either suite. We tried to speak to the manager, but he never showed up after requesting to see him 3 times. There was someone else’s hair tie on the floor. The Receptionist advised that not all rooms they show pictures of on Expedia are the same as the one they post and that this was customary in the industry. In fact she stated that only Room 14 actually had a fire place and that it was not available and then she stated that it didn’t work anyway! We would not stay there again.

Reception staff were very helpful. We booked a superior loft room, however the room had a lot of wear and tear. Scuffed paintwork, evidence of where there had been water leaks not fixed and painted over very well. Chipped Furniture. The bed was not comfy and the pillows were very flat, could have done with a better pillow selection. One of the features of this room was a tv in the bath, however the remote was nowhere to be found, so we were unable to use this. Food was nice but overpriced for the evening meal. Buffet breakfast was ok, but not cooked to a very high standard. Spa was ok, but jacuzzi was not working.

Fab place to stay, beautiful surroundings, with lovely Leisure facilities. The only issue I had with my stay is that when we arrived we was put into the wrong room, which was not the superior one I had booked. It was downgraded from that. however Luckily enough I had noticed and mentioned it to the staff on the desk.. once we was moved there was another issue which there was no bottle of fizz in the room, i mentioned this to reception, they said they would sort it, i was still waiting and after the 3rd time of asking it was then sorted as I had to keep asking! I shouldn’t of had to mentioned it several times for them to sort it. When you pay a price for something you expect everything to be correct.

From the lovely welcome at reception to the wonderful service in the restaurant. Joe , Katie and the sisters in the restaurant all so well mannered and professional. The comfy beds and general facilities make this hotel lovely and I look forward to visiting again when I’m working in Liverpool.

Appalling service. My partner arrived late (which I had informed reception about), he was not allowed up despite having the booking name and room number. He was spoken to rudely, asked insulting questions and told that he had to go outside to ring me. He wasn’t able to call me as he had no signal and was waiting for about 20 minutes until I luckily came down and found him. The receptionist said she tried to call but there was no phone in our room and no-one came to check. I can only assume this was because we are not the ‘usual’ clientele and because he had his work clothes on. In the same breath, I felt extremely judged when I went on my own to book the golf course and was looked and up and down and asked without a greeting you haven’t played golf, have you? Or do you know someone you want to book for. I'd also be careful of the golf clubs, as one broke when we were using it and nearly swung in my face. To add to matters, an extra £142.50 has been taken from my account without explanation. I have called x7 all week but no-one answers, despite leaving messages. I found this previous to our stayed when I called x4 to reserve spa treatments and golf. I gave up in the end and went without spa treatments. Very disappointing.

Rooms are lovely and although I wanted to use the leisure facilities I just felt too tired from my travels but they are great too. Meals and breakfast are very nice. Receptionist on check in was great but service can be slow and I had to chase people to get things done. Sort the service out and this would be excellent.

My first stay here was very underwhelming. For what should be an “on-point” destination hotel it was just disappointing. Staff all the way from check-in through to checkout were just miserable and seemed to take no pleasure in doing anything. Restaurant and bar staff alike, couldn’t even force a smile. Food was okay. Cleanliness of tables was poor and just like the management of the hotel - lacking. This should be a great hotel but it’s just mediocre and that is down to one thing and one thing only. Poor management.

A once amazing hotel is now tired and dated. (Regulars tell us it's because it changed hands). We loved the size of the Junior Suite, and the outside tables overlooking the Greens, but the lounge furniture was old and dirty. The bed was clean (No. 1 priority) but I literally sank into the gap in the middle. Bathroom was clean and had a walk-in shower. Loved the complimentary items in the fridge, but a small snack offering would be nice (just a couple of bags of crisps/nuts for example). We used the pool/sauna/whirlpool - and enjoyed it - but again, it's all a bit tired. Staff on reception and in Spa were all lovely. Breakfast was disappointing, no fried eggs, strange mushrooms, coffee machine not working, no English Breakfast tea, was really messy around the tea and coffee area. Just needed a wipe but everyone seemed oblivious. Would I go back? Probably not.

Really nice stay. Used the spa facilities for 2 hours. Very relaxing and clean. Room was lovely - we upgraded to the loft rooms. Very spacious and had a separate bath and shower. Even a television in bathroom so could watch whilst having a bath. Bed was very comfy. Also went down to have dinner at the restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious. Had breakfast buffet in the morning which was nice as well. Overall a very relaxing stay and looking forward to staying again.

The room we had was large for two adults and two kids. It was well equipped. It was to have the pool on site for the lords and it was nice and had a good set of facilities (spa, sauna, steam room). Overall stay was very pleasant and enjoyable. Lounge food menu was convenient but could be better. Breakfast was excellent - lots of variety in the buffet to suit everyone.

Lovely, relaxing stay! Lovely, large room, great to have a fridge & view of the golf course! Lounge & bar area lovely, really comfy seats and everywhere nice and clean! Enjoyed the afternoon tea & bar food in the evening - highly recommend the dirty bacon fries, they were divine! Pool facilities great, well maintained! Steam room was best I've ever tried! Pool was too cold for us though! Movable shower head would be better but nice to have a bath & a separate shower though! Rooms have lots of nice touches like huge mirrors, a proper wardrobe & lots of storage space! Very impressed! Breakfast was perfectly adequate too, only complaint was lack of proper orange juice! It was watery and more like orange squash!

Booked a suite for my birthday and hoped for a great experience with the best room they had and was so let down! TV didnt work (bed view one), the light up “fireplace” didnt do anything at all, bed mattress kept sliding down bed making annoying sleep. Hoped they’d redeem with the full day spa and afternoon tea - but stale dry sandwiches (expected some kind of effort for price). Have to say though the breakfast was pretty decent and the actual massages me and my girlfriend had very good - regret booking the room and should maybe have just got massage without all the bells and whistles because it wasn’t great. To consider driving home to sleep and go back next day for treatment after booking best room doesn’t set a good tome.

Rooms very good, notice instant coffee as opposed to coffee bags last year, ate in bar and food very good. Only criticism is ful english could be better ingredients, sausages not great, it wont stop me staying next year but i will trya different breakfast!

On the last night of a three day stay there was an air conditioning leak and subsequently the ceiling fell in. Not offered another room due to being at capacity and poor customer service regarding our complaint which is still ongoing, with a lack or response to any emails.
