This quaint hotel is a short, easy 10-minute walk from downtown Melton-Mowbray (plan to walk if you don't have your own car, as Uber hasn't found Melton yet and cabs are hard to come by at short notice). The grounds are well kept. Our room had a large, comfortable four-poster bed, and the bathroom was nicely outfitted with a large tub and shower attachment. The dining area looks out on the grounds and is bright and airy. We had a full English breakfast that was very good. All staff - front desk, housekeeping, kitchen - were helpful, friendly, and welcoming.

The staff were very good and very helpful but the hotel needs a major overhaul on the outside and grounds our car was full of birds dropping this morning so it’s had to be cleaned to prevent any paint damage

Arriving at the hotel was such a delight, exactly as the photos showed. Lovely staff, beautiful grounds and we really enjoyed a drink in the garden followed by dinner. Definitely recommend it.

The staff were excellent. Very friendly, courteous and professional. We were here for my father's funeral and held his wake in the function room, and stayed overnight for two days. Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel who made a difficult time much easier to bear.

We were contacted beforehand to see if we wished to dine in on our arrival which was very handy. Lovely fresh food was most welcome after a long drive. The bedroom & bathroom were spotlessly clean. We stay at this hotel as we travel from Wales to see family and it’s the only hotel in the area which accepts dogs. I really don’t mind the hotel for a quick overnight. It’s just okay. I do think it’s very overpriced for what it is. I have between 60 and 99 hotel nights a year and for this price have stayed in much nicer places. The hotel is very dated and a little unloved. It’s adequate as opposed to comfortable. I will say though the staff are always really friendly and nice which is a credit.

Stayed here on business, bit sceptical as not been impressed with Best Western before, however……staff were amazing & really friendly.Hotel Was a bit dated but very clean. Restored my faith in Best Western, will definitely stay again!

Disappointed with condition and certainly didn’t think it was value for money. Bedroom, dining room and sitting area was really jaded and vase of dead flowers in reception kind of summed that up. Food was also very poor

Reception was good. We were booked into room 5. The condition was tidy but in need of refurbishment. Bed not that comfortable. Not taken an evening meal. Breakfast was good Freshly cooked and tasty.

The hotel is lovely the staff are polite and chatty. The owner makes some lovely garden ornaments that are for sale and honey which is a nice touch. Our evening meal was delicious, our breakfast was small but tasty. We stayed in the deluxe room, which was lovely but being deluxe it would have been nice for it to have included bubble bath shampoo etc there was a body wash, but you really want bubbles in the bath. There was no dry rose wine only sweet they said the Zinfandel was dry but I could only buy a bottle it was Very sweet. The staff knew we were on honeymoon and didn’t even offer a complimentary drink, which kind of let them down a bit. That aside a lovely stay, but slightly over priced in my opinion.
