Sleep Inn & Suites New Braunfels

The hotel was clean. I chose this hotel over a comparatively priced one, because this hotel had a hot tub. We really were looking forward to sitting in the hot tub, but sadly it was out of order during our stay. The free breakfast had very limited options as well. Waffles, two types of cereal and prepackaged breakfast sandwiches were the options.

As usual it is very clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and inviting. Pool area is well kept.

Some maintenance in the pool area especially would have been in line

It smelled musty , water pressure was horrible. I was excited to use the pool however it was covered with leaves and bugs , it looks like it hasn’t been skimmed in years. The hot tub was cold .

Hotel was ok, the pool was amaxing just wished hot would worked. Staff were friendly.

Quick convienent place to stay. Room was spotless and pool was well cared for. Good stay for a great price.

Comfy place, pool was not well attended. I had to use the pool sweeper both days to get out many bugs out to make it comfortable to swim for my kids. Room was decent. Free breakfast was very limited.

This place was very sub par and did not live up to the past reviews- Continental Breakfast- had no cranberry juice ( it was empty) NO REGULAR COFFEE ( it was empty) and when brought to staffs attention I was directed to the vending machines and handed extra coffee for my room …. ?? This was not to my liking. The continental breakfast is a waffle- frozen breakfast sandwich- yogurt- instant oatmeal- apple or banana- sticky buns ——very cheap and not to my preference. I could of ate at a convenience store and had more options 😂 There were water or liquid splatter on the wall in the room , and no towel service or trash see-YOU HAVE TO ASK AND THEN EMPTY YOURSELF! Then we LOST WATER FOR A WHOLE DAY! We were not able to shower or use the toilet …, When I asked how I would be compensated for they inconvenience, I was told a manager would reach out - whom never did , I mean , a discount on the room for the day I was unable to use water would of been nice! OVERALL NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE AT ALL ! Do yourself a favor & Stay at one of the other 5 hotels in this cul de sac , hopefully you will have a better experience!

Had a 2 night stay. Housekeeping did not clean the room or change sheets. Ice machine broken, vending machines empty. Not a “terrible” hotel but I’ll definitely go elsewhere next time.

The staff was very kind and helpful. However, the rooms were moldy and smelled like mildew. There was hair clumps in our sheets and towels. The beds were damp from the amount of moisture in the room, even if the AC was turned off.

There were bugs in every room we were in. We got our room switched three, and each one had bugs in it. One of them had a spider. The bugs were all over the floor, the walls, even the bed.

The accommodations were decent. Outwardly, it appeared clean. The beds were comfy. My only complaint is that the carpet was extremely dirty. I don’t walk in bare feet often in places I’m not familiar with, but I got lax on this trip. The carpet was so dirty that the bottom of my feet were black after just a very short time walking on the carpet in the room. I’m sure this is the case in many hotels, which is why I usually keep my feet covered, but I just can’t unsee it…I won’t be staying at this hotel again.

Room and hallways were clean and smelled nice. Did not have a musky smell like some hotels have. They even had an air fresher that sprayed a green tea scent that was nice.

I thought this hotel although it may have been a little older was very neat and clean. The hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful. Although we didn't have our room cleaned during the stay, I noticed the cleaning staff was superurb And worked as a well oiled machine. The groundskeeper was meticulously cleaning and even placing the rocks back into the flower beds that had been displaced. My family would definitely stay here again.

Room was clean, but a musty smell, due to air conditioning unit. According to staff.

Check in was smooth. We stayed in room 214 and right away I noticed there was a mugginess in the air. There was an awful smell coming from the AC/smelled like food/onions. Our bathroom was clean. Our carpet needed to be vacuumed. Our beds were so uncomfortable I compared it to sleeping on cardboard. Our “bedspread” reminded me of a shower curtain. There was no blanket! It was a sheet and a padded “cover.” I was very angry at myself for booking our stay there for 3 whole nights. We were only there to sleep and shower. Every time we walked into the room it smelled awful. I was glad they had a refrigerator and a microwave in the room; however, the refrigerator did not cool anything. Complimentary breakfast was helpful, unfortunately there was nothing with protein offered other than these Jimmy Dean microwaveable sandwiches with artificial meat and eggs. Our key cards kept demagnetizing every time we would use them, even after we kept them away from our phones. It was super aggravating when we couldn’t open the back door by the pool with our hands full. We had to carry everything and walk back to the front door. The walls are super thin and we could hear everything! I woke up multiple times a night from slamming doors down the hallway and people above us jumping around. My husband woke up to a beatle crawling on his stomach!! I spoke to another guest at breakfast and she said she did not have any carpet in her room. Were we given this room because we booked through a third party?

It smelled of mold and wet. Found cockroach in room second day.

Only for a quick pit stop or day trip. I wouldn’t stay over a weekend due to rooms having thin walls being able to overhear any conversation going on in the next room. Staff was Ok had to wait a bit to get my room but overall not difficult.

The hotel was clean and staff were courteous. The mattresses were awful. We had 2 queen beds and they were re both awful to sleep on. Otherwise we had a good experience.

Nice staff, and clean room. But the worst mattress I have ever slept on. My back will be sore for days. Super hard and worn out. Also, the breakfast was not good.

What a pleasant surprise! This hotel has been recently renovated. Our room was very large, clean, and comfortable, and inexpensive. Access was right on the freeway in a great location near shopping and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our stay was very relaxing!!

Horrible mattresses. Didn’t have local channels or any channels we watch on tv. No way to hookup Roku so we could watch things we liked.

Mattresses very poor quality, cave in the middle, and need to be replaced. Did not sleep well Also, asked for 2 blankets at the desk and the man would only give me one.

The hotel was good for the price we paid, however they run your payment twice "one as a hold (your stay plus security deposit) and again as the stay" i was assured that this was the wat it was done "by the system" I have had to pay for the stay and an additional deposit before that is not uncommon. Never have i paid for the stay in one transaction and again on a second transaction+ the deposit. My checkout was this morning and as of leaving the hotel the charge has bot been returned. This is poor business practice no matter how "good" the room rate is id rather pay more somewhere else and not deal with the hassle.

The clerk at the office was rude. When I came in and told him I had a reservation and then gave him my name, he looked at me then asked me what is the first thing what I am supposed to do. At that point I was a little bit confused he was mumbling and had a hard time hearing what he was saying or asking then he proceeded to give me a lecture then I finally figured out he wanted my license. I had my wallet in my hand and I was waiting for him to ask for my license which he never did. So I pulled it out of my wallet and laid it down on the desk then he gave me another lecture because I did not hand it to him. At that point I was just starting to get a little bit angry about the situation. At that point if I had not already pre-paid for the room I would have just walked out and go to another hotel. My wife finally came in from outside and she saw I was a little bit confused on what was going on and then she got involved and she figured out real quick that he was just being very rude. He asked my name again even though he had the license in his hand and we had to tell him our last name about 3 times and spelled it out. Then he said oh there you are and that he checked to see them. If I was the hotel owner or manager I would have fired him on the spot for the way he acted and talked to us.

I've never seen a front desk so accommodating and willing to go the extra mile!! I'd stay here again in a Heartbeat

I stayed 6 nights. The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed, and the staff were very helpful.

Traveling by myself and felt very safe. Large, clean and comfortable room. The front desk was also excellent.

I never got my deposit back and they took out an extra 50$ on top of the deposit so I’m down 100$ that I haven’t seen back and they never cleaned our room the whole stay

The hotel itself was comfortable and clean enough. I appreciated that the manager seemed concerned for our safety as to where we parked. However, there was never anyone manning the front desk when I was there and ringing the bell usually did nothing to summon anyone. When I checked out, there were a couple small problems with the room that I wanted to mention; but I wasn't willing to wait around to speak to anyone.

One of the reasons we booked here was the pool. A large family came in, blaring loud music, swimming in clothes ( not a bathing suit) and drinking alcohol from glass bottles. Needless to say, we did not get to swim. I informed the manager who did NOTHING about it. Furthermore…. The rooms smell, the bed sheets don’t fit properly and it was not at all worth the visit

Whatever toxic chemicals they use to clean made my nose & throat burn & I start coughing the moment we walk in. Front desk counter has plexiglass divider about 5' tall covered with self-printed signs taped all over. Lobby is not very well lit & felt eerie. Guy behind counter is rude & unpleasant. He slides over a form, tells me to initial four spots & sign. Guess I had weird look on my face bc I can't remember the last time I had so many boxes to sign at check-in. I prepaid the room and provided deposit for incidentals when I start checking in but in rereading one of the many signs about the refund for the deposit, I ask for clarification. He starts blustering about not being able to meet my “obligation” & alludes I can’t pay. Interesting, since I have prepaid room & now paid deposit. Fed up, I tell him to cancel, I’m not staying. Once outside, my son said he was glad we left bc place felt unsafe & the people looked sketchy. I’m trying to get my room refunded which hasn’t happened yet. Six days later and I still don’t have refund on the room or deposit. Funny thing is we went across highway to another hotel. Woman at front desk was welcoming & not hiding behind protective barriers. And deposit for incidentals refunded the next morning. I guess other hotels can manage this.

This property was close to our destination of Gruene. The girl at the front desk was pleasant, informative and most welcoming. There wasn’t anything we disliked.

It was convenient to the area.

Room smelled like mildew… I think that was a ventilation issue. The bed was uncomfortable and sat very low to the ground which was bad on our backs. We had a vehicle broken into with a rock. Busted out one window and tried another and dented the door all up and scratched up two windows. A firearm was stolen. Police said this is normal activity for the area, aimed towards obtaining firearms, & targeting “big ol’ country boy trucks”. The hotel should have security on patrol for this reason. If there had been security, a higher & better bed, and a room that didn’t smell like mildew, I’d give it 5 stars. But I will say they were very honest, I left my card at the front desk and they let me know, held it for me and gave it to me. I appreciate that conduct very very much.

My overall stay in regards to the hotel was ok. My room was clean and the lobby coffee was decent. My only issue is the surrounding area. This area is known for break ins. So I now have a busted window, 2 other damaged windows, scrapes and dents, my gun stolen, and shattered glass everywhere on the inside of my truck. My hopes are that the cameras actually recorded the incident vs just having a live feed system. Big country boy trucks are a target. Unfortunately I don’t feel any kind of belongings are safe to keep in your vehicle.

Standard hotel with easy access to the freeway. Nothing extraordinary. Perfect for one night, worth the money paid. The staff are attentive and friendly.

Easy to get to and close to all the local atteactions

Great location for shopping and close to downtown area. Clean and comfortable. Only problem it was tax free weekend and breakfast area was too busy. Overall stay was good!

Property was real clean and they had a excellent breakfast food to choose from plus a variety of juices and coffees.

Nice place for overnight stay. Clean, convenient, comfy beds, friendly staff. Breakfast was good but no protein except breakfast sandwiches. Suggestions for improvement: become more eco-friendly by offering recycling, using compostable breakfast plates/utensils, refillable toiletries.

No workout room despite the picture of one on the booking site. Mediocre coffee quality and breakfast options—only protein for breakfast were a few plastic-wrapped egg sausage biscuits. Overall clean but dates and not worth the 149/night I paid

The property is nice. The room was clean. Beds and pillows are nice. The shower did not have water pressure and the breakfast was very basic, not what i had in other Sleep Inns.

it was a economical value right in town with some nice amenities but smelled like lemon Fabuloso. Not uncommon for a tourist hotel in a river/swim centric city. Gotta hide that mildew smell in the carpets fro everyone coming in wet and laying around. Breakfast is pretty sparse, coffee isn't great. Pool is in sunshine. Ya know, pretty common stuff. Bed was satisfactory (some hotels around town have fantasic matresses, I need to start looking at name tags and report as I'm visiting a lot these days) Over all, stay there, everything's fine. It was clean and quiet enough.
