Nice place to stay in the middle of the village. Pleasant staff and the pub is lively too. Rooms are nicely renovated.

We’ve stayed at the King’s Head over 20 years or so, as such we’ve seen the hotel in different guises. The room itself is ok, clean on the face but the rooms need an overhaul. I know it’s a country pub, rustic etc but should we have spiders, cobwebs, and dust? Given the amount of money these rooms demand it’s simply not good enough, certainly in comparison. The hotel has hosted many a happy memory but I don’t think we’ll return.

Friendly staff but short staffed so issues in the restaurant. Duvet and pillows were awful. Winter TOG and hard lumpy pillows. They had provided a fan though.

Overall good value for money. Perhaps could do with a bit of a refresh, but that expected for the age of the property, and the footfall. Really friendly staff. Good base for Masham.
