We arrived late at night but check in went well and we were able to arrange for a later check out. I had a massage at the spa which was amazing! Our kids loved the pool, with the fountains. It was disappointing that they did not allow children in the hot tub, at 12 and 15 it seems odd to us that they were not allowed in. The breakfast offered a lot of choice and great quality.

Throughly enjoyed our stay. We got a nuve surprise at check in when we were told we'd been upgraded to a deluxe room, which was a added bonus to our weekend celebrations. The leisure centre was fab. The only complaint would be the residents bar closed bery early.

Great hotel, perfect location. Staff were very friendly. A little slow checking in but think it was just because everyone arrived at once. Pool was fun, jacuzzi couldve been warmer. I'd definitely recommend and definitely back.

The hotel staff were friendly, efficient, helpful and professional from check-in to checkout. Breakfast was full of choice and the food was delicious. The club lounge was really appreciated. We loved being in Athlone and its surroundings. Having complimentary parking added to the excellence of our stay.

Room was good. Staff were nice. Breakfast was good. Food from the bar was terrible. Fish (and chips) was really dry. Gym facilities were old and not well maintained. Pool was fine but was the coldest hot tub I've ever experienced. It was warmer in the pool. Most of the electronic lockers also didn't work. I think I tried 10 before 1 worked. Saw others struggle too

I came alone for a weekend away and had a very pleasant stay. The room was very comfortable and full of very convenient amenities such as the fridge, air con, coffee and tea facilities. All the staff I dealt with were very pleasant and made the experience amazing. I went to eat in the restaurant and even on a busy night the staff where attentive, pleasant and polite and the food was excellent. Normally the single dinning experience you can be made to feel like an inconvenience but this was not the case here and a very pleasant experience I made sure to inform the manager of on my way out. I love the pool facilities,it was relaxing after a long drive to be able to have a swim and relax. I have and will keep recommending this hotel to others and I will be back to stay again myself ☺️

Ve comfortable hotel. Bang slap in middle of the town. Parking on site, Modern and clean, rooms were large and comfortable. Great facilities on site, gym, bars, restaurants and a nice buffet breakfast

Arrived on Sunday Evening at 4.10 pm and there was a huge queue for check in . Eventually got to the top of the queue and started the check in process . However the room was not ready at 4.40 pm . Check in is 3 o clock . I was told to wait and that I was now being prioritised and that the room would be ready with the next 30 minutes and to expect a call . After 30m I went back up to reception and still no room . Eventually a manager I presume gave us keys to the Tower section of the hotel and I was told it was an upgrade . No explanation or apology was given rather I was simply told that it was busy . Several other people in the queue had similar experiences. The room itself was good except for the net curtains need replacing as they had a huge hole in it and was discoloured . Pool and sauna was adequate while the gym is excellent. Breakfast was hot and good quality , plates were small and need to be sized up . Fresh fruit and meats were plentiful however sourcing a bowl or place was difficult. Hotel is central and shopping centre beside it . Free parking was a nice touch and the staff in the restaurants and bars were friendly.

Although the property has own parking for residents the streets were going thru construction. There was a stain that looked like vomit outside our door, laundry bags on arrival and garbage around lobby/bathroom

We reported ceiling mold and a wet floor to the duty manager, yet they did not feel as if we experienced less than our moneys worth. We spent a pretty penny for clean facilities and are disappointed.

Room is ok but after a long drive i was given a wrong room as the one i booked is not availble anymore. I couldnt sleep as a can hear all the rain fall in room 241. Check in late and woke up early so tired for work,

Check in was a long wait, it appeared as if several people were in training. The room was excellent, very comfortable and nicely appointed. Word of warning, the beds are very firm. We didn’t have a problem with that but I know that some do.

They called on Friday before my arrival on Sunday to confirm the booking. Later that evening I got an e-mail (to my work e-mail) saying the booking was cancelled. Not much fun when you only find out on the late evening before departure. They wouldn't answer calls to the hotel, their "system" hasn't yet responded to e-mail enquiry about it now 2 weeks ago. Fortunately it hadn't actually been cancelled as I found out on my arrival at 9:10pm. Reception staff failed to comprehend so I continued to settle into the room and had food in their restaurant. Food was good, Guinness not so good but it is a hotel rather than one of the many fabulous pubs in Athlone. Tuedsay I confronted an English speaking individual on reception regarding the cancellation & distress but they really didn't care. Restaurant staff however were very pleasant and helpful. Didn't even look at the pool/spa/gym. Breakfasts were pretty good. I would recommend eating, drinking and enjoying the town in the evenings.

We stayed 2 night in the Hotel, the room had comforts bed and good size bathroom overall it was nice and clean. We enjoyed the breakfast. It's in good location with shops and train station and buses. We were disappointed with the some of staff at reception desk, they weren't helpful also we couldn't book spa when we checked in.

An absolutely fabulous stay! The front desk staff were very helpful in finding our way to the parking with the construction happening out front. Breakfast was delicious. A big room, excellent facilities, and friendly people. Highly recommend! Look forward to coming back.

Lovely comfortable room and hotel Nice pool but water cold...others there said the same. Hot Tub was a Cold Tub...a fellow guest agreed. Don't eat in the Bar.....we had a bit of an ordeal getting a meal for two...main course brought out before starter...soup cold...parts of order forgotton. I emailed the hotel about this and was offered a free meal but we are over 2 hours away so won't be back to Athlone in the foreseeable future. Not 4 star standard

I highly recommend the Sheraton Athlone. The room was very large, clean, and comfortable. Check-in was very smooth and staff members were pleasant and helpful. Parking was free,convenient, and extended through the date of check-out. The breakfast was outstanding. There are a number of restaurants in the vicinity as well as shopping.

My only complaint had nothing to do with the hotel. The the hotel overall was a very good stay for my wife and I there was one minor concerned with water leaking from underneath the shower door I brought that to the attention of the front desk and it was taken care of the next day. My only true complaint had to do with the restaurant in the hotel with a limited menu and recipes that we did not care for.
