What guests think

AI-generated summary based on recent guest reviews

Ty Morgan's sits in the centre of Rhayader and is a good base for Elan Valley, but reviews describe mixed rooms: some are spacious or stylish, while others report uncomfortable mattresses, thin walls, dated decor, and traffic or pub noise.

Quirky place with wooden beams great to have kitchen area. Brilliant location although free parking misleading. You need to be up early to pay but free at night in carpark.Nice to have a decent cuppa and milk and biscuits provided very much appreciated. Comfy beds Many thanks would stay again can't comment on staff as self check-in but good instructions

Not the propertie's fault, and they did warn us beforehand, it was the carnival and the whole place was full of people, noise, disturbances and mess until way past midnight. There were police involved. The street cleaners were out from 4am and we hardly got any sleep. The room was in the attic and although you can open the velux window it was still very warm and opening the window meant noise traveled from outside - it might be quieter on a weekday. Be careful of the low ceiling - im 5ft 5 and banged my head multiple times on the eaves/window edge. The bathroom was very small, shower tray was tiny. The shower curtain smelt damp and mould in the extractor fan. The basin was also really small. The bed was uncomfortable and we didnt mind as we only stayed 1 night/slept for 5hours (we were prepared for this when we booked). The entrance was not very well signposted and it was a side entrance and gave 'upstairs above the shops' vibe. Overall, I would not stay again, there was no dedicated parking, we parked 2 streets behind on a residential road and returning home late at night with the revellers all over the streets didnt feel entirely safe. However, it was what we needed for 1 night.

I think this could be a great place, but every business is having to cut corners on staff. This has moved to keyless entry with lock-boxes, which worked fine. But we arrived in the village, had to figure out parking ourselves, let ourselves in, and in the morning let ourselves out. It's hard to feel welcome anywhere when you only interact with machines - how can there be character with no people? The room was good, a main area plus a side bedroom with a bunkbed, shower worked. The restaurant/bar was closed, and the restaurant across the street (related I think) wasn't serving food. We found another that was steps away, so it was fine. In the morning we had some breakfast downstairs (bought separately from the cafe/restaurant/bar) and it was good, and the staff obviously know the locals and get along fine. But what could have been charming visit to a lovely Welsh village just felt like we were ghosts. If you just need a bed, great. If you want to visit this area, look for somewhere with real people.
