I liked it. Older, needs a facelift, some clean up, some kind of dressing up externally, but part of its appeal is its age so what's best to do...I'm not sure. Enjoyed my time there. I recommend it.

This is a beautiful part of the country and particularly handy if you like watersports - loch is within 100 yards of the hotel. Hotel is clean and staff are friendly - lots of rooms some of which have incredible views up the loch towards Lochearnhead. Room was clean and well presented - decor is dated and basic. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The two course set dinner is on the pricier side given the lack of local alternatives but the hotel had a limited take away menu which is good. Werent many other guests when we stayed but a fire was on in the small bar which was good.

Nice hotel, room was freshly decorated and very spacious and comfy bed. Amazing view of the Loch and large window in room so you can fully appreciate it. Cosy wee bar. Had a delicious meal in the restaurant and generous Scottish breakfast. Friendly, engaging staff. Will be back and would recommend hotel, restaurant and Loch Earn as a place to stay without hesitation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The pictures do not adequately depict the accommodations of this hotel. We were booked in a chalet. It did have an updated bathroom and appeared clean. However, the decor hasn’t been updated since the 60’s. In addition, the front door is rotten along with the a frame roof extending to the windows. The hotel reception area wasn’t much better. We left and booked a delightful room at the Royal Hotel in Comrie.

We stayed in no 5 Chalet it was very clean bed very comfy we had a partial view of the Loch which was nice also we could walk down the Hill to the Beachfront or have a Drink sitting outside the Hotel we also visited Loch Katrine and Loch LubnaigElaine and David from Erskine

I paid over £150/night plus £12 for breakfast. It’s an old property with uncomfortable beds and a funky smell. The nearest restaurant is 10 miles away. It’s a place to sleep in a pinch. This is at best a £75-85/night kind of place. Breakfast should be included, not an extra cost. Don’t overspend like I did.

The chalet we stayed in smelled of mold/mildew from water seaping into cloets from exterior. The metal heated towel rack across from water closet was way to hot, I checked it with a battery operated thermometer that I always carry after I burned my hand on it. The sink with seperate hot and cold faucet handles is outdated and the only way to mix the hot and cold was to fill the sick, otherwise you had hot scalding water or very cold water.Steps to chalet were different heights making them unsafe and small pieces of gravel on them. Limited eating hours and extremely overpriced.

Old smell when you walk into reception. Upon arrival were told there was no chef so only a cold buffet was available. We would have to drive another 20 minutes to find some local take away options. Was given key to the Chalet - we got in and again was the 'old' smell. Cobwebs everywhere which had the accompanying spiders! Asked for a room in the main hotel but was told there weren't any rooms available that were ready made up and they wouldn't make one up for us. Not ideal after travelling for 8 hours with one child and a dog! Booked for the view but was let down by the accommodation. Refused refund so out of pocket and had to continue our journey. Don't get drawn in by the view - it's just not worth it!

Loved: The owner, Sue, is amazing! She was above and beyond the sweetest, most attentive host! I appreciated her attention to detail and making sure my stay was as wonderful as possible. The room was super nice! Loved the bed, wonderfully warm and comfy. The view of Loch Earn was beyond words, so beautiful! Very nice size bathroom with big bathtub and shower. TV, mini-fridge, kettle, and Keurig amenities in the room. Kitchen and bar service very good. Beautiful hotel and grounds. Pet-friendly. Gorgeous area and grounds! Note: public transportation is tough. Taxi service available. Also, if like myself and have mobility issues, note that there are no ground floor hotel rooms.

Nice couple trying to make a go of an aging facility. Room was OK, but available electric outlets was a bit of a problem. Bedside lamps did not work. Shower set up was dicey and water pressure/heat was poor. Food in the restaurant was good.

We thought our stay was brilliant from start to finish. We had a lovely lady check us in on Friday afternoon. The room was better than we expected. We attended as we were on a birthday trip for me. And i upgraded to a queen superior double room with a loch view, we were allocated room 21. And it was stunning. The first afternoon when we arrived the Weather was perfect. Not hot not cold but the view across the loch was nothing short of a perfect postcard. The bed was lovely and comfy. The only thing we wished we knew was what to do on an early check out. We left at 6am due to a very very long drive. But had no where safe to drop the key. We left it in front of the check in hatch. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

The room was clean but, like the entire building, was dated and in need of a refurbishment. The window was broken and did not shut properly making the room draughty. The whole hotel seemed to be run by a maximum of 3 staff who appeared to be run off their feet. The evening menu food was grossly overpriced for the standard of the hotel and their description of a 'continental' breakfast was a joke as it only consisted of tea/coffee/fruit juice and toast! Generally whilst the staff were doing their best the overall management of the hotel was dire. However the view of the loch was stunning - the only saving grace!

The service was excellent and we felt very welcomed. While the room was relatively basic, we have everything we need for our stay, including a good selection of coffee and tea. The view of the lake and the surrounding area was spectacular.

Turned up at 3 and locked out until 5 - staff member injured so had to be taken to hospital which is fine but explanation should have been provided on the door. Existing guests and check ins had no idea. Hotel very very tired - & very expensive for what we got - evening meal ok but extremely expensive, breakfast extra which at £180 a night should have been included. Fantastic views, a comfortable room. Was cold to start but the owner helped rectify this when we spoke about it. Having said this it was -2 all that day ! We didn't have any further problems after this.

The hotel website listed food available and sent an email offering reservations. they informed us upon arrival that they did not have food on that day and that breakfast(included) was only continental. They sent us to a place to eat that was closed. We had to go further afield. We were late 11:15 pm returning and they had locked all the doors so we had to knock until someone came to open the door. The hotel is not bad but the service is terrible.

The room was clean but, like the entire building, was dated and in need of a refurbishment. The window was broken and did not shut properly making the room draughty. The whole hotel seemed to be run by a maximum of 3 staff who appeared to be run off their feet. Generally whilst the staff were doing their best the overall management of the hotel was dire. However the view of the loch was stunning - the only saving grace!

This is a beautiful part of the country and particularly handy if you like watersports - loch is within 100 yards of the hotel. Hotel is clean and staff are friendly - lots of rooms some of which have incredible views up the loch towards Lochearnhead. Room was clean and well presented - decor is dated and basic. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The two course set dinner is on the pricier side given the lack of local alternatives but the hotel had a limited take away menu which is good. Werent many other guests when we stayed but a fire was on in the small bar which was good.

We stayed in a hillside chalet for two nights with our little dog. The chalet had perfect views of the lake and it felt very private. You could hear the birds singing and we even saw a red squirrel right outside our window. The chalet has a rustic feel, with a very comfortable king sized bed, bathroom, and a handy fridge. There is a railway path just behind the lodges for convenient dog walks with lovely views. Excellent continental breakfast with a good choice of cereal, fruit, ham, cheese, toast, pastries etc. The owner is very friendly and helpful and has a beautiful black Labrador who is equally friendly. A perfect stay if you want a relaxing break away from everything and a very easy place to stay if you have your pooch with you. We will hopefully return.

I paid over £150/night plus £12 for breakfast. It’s an old property with uncomfortable beds and a funky smell. The nearest restaurant is 10 miles away. It’s a place to sleep in a pinch. This is at best a £75-85/night kind of place. Breakfast should be included, not an extra cost. Don’t overspend like I did.

Turned up at 3 and locked out until 5 - staff member injured so had to be taken to hospital which is fine but explanation should have been provided on the door. Existing guests and check ins had no idea. Hotel very very tired - & very expensive for what we got - evening meal ok but extremely expensive, breakfast extra which at £180 a night should have been included. Blinds faulty so street light shone all night directly onto bed….the whole place has seen better days and needs a complete revamp. Nice spot looking over the lake but that’s about it. Attached photo sums it up - what greeted us on arrival at the front door. Hasn’t obviously been emptied for months and stunk the place out.

Old smell when you walk into reception. Upon arrival were told there was no chef so only a cold buffet was available. We would have to drive another 20 minutes to find some local take away options. Was given key to the Chalet - we got in and again was the 'old' smell. Cobwebs everywhere which had the accompanying spiders! Asked for a room in the main hotel but was told there weren't any rooms available that were ready made up and they wouldn't make one up for us. Not ideal after travelling for 8 hours with one child and a dog! Booked for the view but was let down by the accommodation. Refused refund so out of pocket and had to continue our journey. Don't get drawn in by the view - it's just not worth it!

The Good: The view of the lake was by far the best part of this stay. It’s stunning. The room was also very clean. The room and bathroom were probably the largest I encountered my whole time traveling through Scotland. Very, very spacious and quiet because the hotel is kind of in the middle of nowhere. The bed was decently comfortable. The Quirks: The hotel is very dated both on the inside and outside. The smells and sights reflect this. There are no elevators so be prepared to lug your bag up and down the stairs. The shower was an experience with the cord to even turn it on then the contraption to adjust the water temperature. The window opened plenty enough to get good air flow since there is no AC, but you can also see your neighbors and they can see you if their blinds/windows are open. The Meh: There was a kettle for hot water and instant coffee in the room and snacks. There was a television, but it didn’t seem to work no matter what we tried/did, but it might’ve been user error. The room key was attached to this gigantic wood keychain that was super awkward to carry around, but it worked. Overall, this stay was surprisingly good despite all the quirks. I’d rebook the hotel again just for the view and large room.
