Lovely stay at this fabulously themed Viking hotel. We staying in a cottage which fit 4 of us fine Breakfast was delicious our teenagers loved the waffle maker! Hot tub and sauna were fab too Easy bus into Reykjavik. Thanks Viking hotel for a wonderful stay

The bed was really hard, and the shower was difficult to get into since the bathtub was so high. Definitely not good for people who can’t step up or down out of the shower from the extra high bathtub. Breakfast started at 7:30, which seems a little late given that they are so close to the airport, and options seemed limited. Hot tub was nice, could not find sauna. Lots of construction going on. The restaurant was good, however seemed way overpriced for what you got. Viking decor was fun, and really the only reason why we chose to stay there. The room itself was larger than most of the ones we had during our weeklong stay as well, so that was definitely a plus.

Loved hot pool and the sauna! They were kind enough to accommodate us and make us a sandwich as our flights left too early to enjoy their included breakfast. Loved the ambience. Wished we could have enjoyed the full stay there!

A nice, cozy boutique hotel with hand crafted traditional wood furniture and decoration. The hot tub, though, is rustic without a fancy ambiance. The food at its restaurant Fjörukráin is made with thought to delicate flavors - a pleasure!

Very nice hotel with a Viking theme. Friendly and courteous staff. Good variety of food in breakfast. There was a construction project which blocked off the driveway to the backside of the hotel and possibly some other parking spaces. Had to offload luggage and turn around to use the parking lot of another building next door. The driveway in front of the hotel entrance was tight for the maneuvering. Had there been more guests arriving at the time it would have been quite a hassle. The hotel could have notified guests of the parking arrangement ahead of time to avoid issues.

The cabin style room I stayed in was clean and spacious. I LOVED the Viking theme of it all and it is the main reason I picked this hotel. Breakfast was a big plus and I really enjoyed my meals at the restaurant. The sauna was wonderful and although the hot tub is small and tucked next to room windows, it still felt private. I would 100% stay here again!

Hotel is ok, nice common areas, all in wood with the viking theme. Includes continental breakfast in a nice dinning room. Not a lot of options. Bathroom shower was kind of dirty on the cottages. And if they are having construction in front of the property, they should let you know in advance. Uncomfortable to get from the front entrance to the cottage, and they ended up breaking something so no flushing was allowed on the morning of checkout. Average hotel, definitely not worth the 300$ a night.

This place was very kitschy (in a good way) and the room was clean. We had to ask for towels and extra toilet paper several times. The breakfast was fresh and they offered a good variety. We had issues regulating the water temperature in the room which got extremely hot. There’s construction going on the outside, so it was a little messy. The adjoining restaurant was good and pretty affordable for Iceland. The hotel was one of the highlights of our trip due to its unique decor. I hope they don’t change that about the place it’s incredibly unique/fun!

I do not reccomend this place. There is not much else in the area. The standard room is very small, and the bathroom is worse. The bathroom was not well kept. Moldy grout, stain in tub, craked sink, cracked tile. The tub/shower combo was very, oddly, tall. If you are short or have any trouble with mobility, you may not be able to use it. The staff was off putting and made me feel like I was a burden for being there. The breakfast left much to be desired. Overall i was very disappointed with my stay.

Room was small tight fit for two people and luggage, beds were comfortable. Bathroom was really wet, the water from the shower soaks the entire area. The breakfast was filling but limited. Oatmeal, cereal, waffels, bread/crossants, spread, and salad bar with hard boiled eggs. Only 4 parking spots infront of the hotel but can park in the resturant parking next door but it did fill up one of the nights. And I had to squeeze into a place that was really a spot...didnt get a ticket.

Good option for 1st or last day of vacation. 30 min to airport. Fly Bus location right outside the front door. Restaurants including a Subway and grocery store within. 5 min walk. Would not be convenient to tours, etc if staying in Reykjavik your entire time. SMALL rooms & bathrooms. Smaller than a cruise ship cabin. Again good for a 1 nt option. Too small otherwise. Bed was not comfortable. There was a metal bar in the middle so you didn’t sleep next to your partner. I thought the rooms would have Viking decor, but they did not. Very simple/ plain. Reminded me of dorm rooms. Free pkg. Walk/ jog trail along the harbor just outside the front door. “Fair” price based on Iceland standards. Especially considering breakfast is included. Viking Restaurant with the hotel. Very popular. Usually have nightly entertainment. Outdoor seating facing the water if weather permits. For $100 they have a Viking feast containing many of the typical Icelandic foods like shark, lamb etc.

The mattresses were comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. The room we were assigned was extremely tiny and badly in need of updating. The private bathroom was really a small wet room. The ceiling light needed replacing. The steps to the rooms on the first floor have an awkward ramp that looks like an accident waiting to happen. Overall, I was disappointed in the accommodations for the price that we paid.

Bonnes gaufres au petit déjeuner. Literie mauvaise, insonorisation catastrophique. Nous avons logé dans un cottage, le reste de cette partie du complexe accueillait un groupe de jeunes qui ont fait un bruit d’enfer jusqu’à 23h et dès 4h du matin. Les murs sont fins comme du papier et tout les lits tremblaient à chaque claquement de porte. La décoration du cottage n’est pas vraiment « Viking » et des efforts à moindre coût pourraient être envisagés. Enfin un lit superposé sans barrière et un lit sous pente ne peuvent pas vraiment être occupés paisiblement.

Friendly front desk staff and clean hotel. My room was directly across from laundry room and there was construction outside plus the disco went until 2am- very, very noisy. The shower sprayed everywhere leaving the bathroom a swamp.

This is a very cool place. The decor isn’t just cheap decorations. I was amazed at the quality of the furniture in the lobby and restaurant area. It is really an interesting place. If you reserve here, you need to know that the cottages are tiny. Really just a bed and loft with two twin size beds. An adult can only stand in the middle of the loft. However, the beds are comfortable. Also, the water has a slight sulfur smell which can be expected in some places in Iceland. There was construction when we were there. They started working at 8 but that was ok because we were up and going anyway. The restaurant has delicious food

The staff at the front desk upon arrival were not very welcoming, just doing their job. We arrived early and had to wait for our check in, after a couple of ours we asked and were able to check in to our room. Not much in the area other than a small mall and grocery store. It is advertised as a Viking Village so I should have checked it out more. Nothing but the hotel and nothing to do. You would only stay here if you had a car. Stayed there for 4 days and they never came once to empty the garbage or change towels, they say it is for the environment and if you want this service to put the card on your door. We did at 9am and by 2:30pm they still did not come. I gave up and we brought them the garbage. There is a restaurant that is Viking Style, the first night was not that impressive, but on our last night the restaurant was more lively and we had a good server, that brought us fresh bread and helped my daughter out with her gluten allergies. They offer you a complimentary breakfast, which was ok, but the coffee cups were the size of salt shakers and you had to refill them very often to get the same amount as a cup of coffee. Overall I would say this is a place for you to stop over on your travels if you are looking for an affordable hotel. Not a place to stay for multiple days.

The staff at the hotel were incredibly nice and helpful! Parking was a bit difficult as they were remodeling and expanding, but I believe once they are complete, it may be easier. Breakfast at the hotel was good, and dinner at the affiliate restaurant was very good. We were expecting/hoping the Viking theme would be extended to the rooms, but it wasn't really as predominant as it was in the hotel and restaurant. The room we had was a bit small, but comfortable and clean.

Just stayed here and had a wonderful experience. Staff were helpful and courteous very accommodating. Breakfast was wonderful. We were recommended a tour and it picked us up and dropped us off right at the hotel. Very convenient!

Good option for 1st or last day of vacation. 30 min to airport. Fly Bus location right outside the front door. Restaurants including a Subway and grocery store within. 5 min walk. Would not be convenient to tours, etc if staying in Reykjavik your entire time. SMALL rooms & bathrooms. Smaller than a cruise ship cabin. Again good for a 1 nt option. Too small otherwise. Bed was not comfortable. There was a metal bar in the middle so you didn’t sleep next to your partner. I thought the rooms would have Viking decor, but they did not. Very simple/ plain. Reminded me of dorm rooms. Free pkg. Walk/ jog trail along the harbor just outside the front door. “Fair” price based on Iceland standards. Especially considering breakfast is included. Viking Restaurant with the hotel. Very popular. Usually have nightly entertainment. Outdoor seating facing the water if weather permits. For $100 they have a Viking feast containing many of the typical Icelandic foods like shark, lamb etc.

This was a very nice hotel for our first night in Iceland. It’s not far from KEF Airport, and was a good place 30-minutes away from the Blue Lagoon. The connected restaurant was excellent for our dinner after our soak in the Blue Lagoon.

Room was clean but tiny for 2 people. It was only for 1 night. Bit of a novelty hotel, staff friendly. Breakfast could have been a bit more gluten free friendly but there was a nice selection in general for breakfast for other eaters.

I would definitely stay again. We enjoyed the hot tub (small, but we had it to ourselves in the early evening). The beds were comfortable, and it was quite. I told them we would be leaving before breakfast, and they graciously packed us sandwiches to go, ready at the front desk. The restaurant/bar is decorated nicely, and they had live music. The restaurant was crowded when we arrived, but most folks left by 8:15pm.

The bed was really hard, and the shower was difficult to get into since the bathtub was so high. Definitely not good for people who can’t step up or down out of the shower from the extra high bathtub. Breakfast started at 7:30, which seems a little late given that they are so close to the airport, and options seemed limited. Hot tub was nice, could not find sauna. Lots of construction going on. The restaurant was good, however seemed way overpriced for what you got. Viking decor was fun, and really the only reason why we chose to stay there. The room itself was larger than most of the ones we had during our weeklong stay as well, so that was definitely a plus.

The reception were very nice to us. The place is also within close reach of the bus going into town. They had a sauna which I would have dearly loved to try but I didn't know about it until too late. The decor is fun and they really try to stick to the theme. The bedroom was very small, and it was lucky we had a car to leave some of our things in. The main thing I didn't like was the breakfast. The cabin style room I stayed in was clean and spacious. I LOVED the Viking theme of it all and it is the main reason I picked this hotel. Breakfast was a big plus and I really enjoyed my meals at the restaurant. The sauna was wonderful and although the hot tub is small and tucked next to room windows, it still felt private. I would 100% stay here again!
